  1. Allen has to be careful with his hands with 5 fouls. He can't be too aggressive.
  2. You said questionable job by both coaching staffs. you can't play much inside-outside ball when you're down by seven, and they did go to Randolph a bunch. The first three by Mayo was off a broken play after Randolph missed close and Battier grabbed a rebound. Hollins is doing a fine job.
  3. Westbrook doesn't feel any pressure with Vasquez on him...but what a response by Vasquez!
  4. He and Collison are really working hard and expending a bunch of energy. And Randolph has played a ton of minutes.
  5. Battier missed that three, but what a pass by Allen! Forced an out-of-control closeout and Battier made up for his missed three with a nice runner.
  6. Because Randolph and Gasol haven't gotten the ball in all of the one possession they've had this OT session, Hollins is a bad coach. Look at how confident he's had his team play, plus how good their defense has been, how hard the team has played, and how he's managed his team's rotations. He's been exceptional this entire postseason and is really an up-and-coming coach.
  7. That's the shot they got? A 33-foot step back? That's what happens when you force feed a player who isn't open, when that player has no confidence to make any move off the dribble, and what happens when you end up with Tony Allen on you. Durant's a different player than LeBron, but he's much less advanced than Kobe was at the same age. He's not strong enough to shed Allen, and he's not confident enough to attack off the hoop. Everything is a mid-range jumper or longer, often stepping back.
  8. Czar: For some reason Conley decided to shoot the three... How about the reason that he was absolutely wide open?
  9. The Grizz have poked so many Thunders dribbles from behind this game, and that was one of the few open looks they didn't connect on.
  10. I thought so too. The Grizz have come up with some crucial offensive rebounds and the Thunder offensive execution is as spotty as it's always been. They've been bailed out by Westbrook and Durant's talent, but they aren't generating good looks.
  11. What do you want him to do? They ran an iso for him and Mayo defending him extremely well. There's plenty to blame Westbrook for but missing the last shot, on it's own it isn't fair.
  12. And you know what, O.J. Mayo has turned himself into a very good defender. He's defending Westbrook as well as anybody has the past two games.
  13. these are some awful shots the Grizz are taking but what a clutch make by Conley.
  14. They won't be suspended for 10 games, especially not Odom. That's absurd. I doubt Odom get suspended more than a game. I think that's the standard for an unnecessary hard shove. Bynum's should and will be longer, but probably not 10 games, though the fact that Barea was in a defenseless position, the foul was unprovoked, and how much of a dick move it was could warrant somewhat significant time off.
  15. And don't trade everyone, for goodness sake. This team is a rigorous commitment to screen/roll defense away from winning another ring next year. Some of you guys are way too melodramatic. The Lakers do need some younger legs though, and a better bench than what Barnes, Walton, and Joe Smith could provide. The deep end of their bench has eroded away.
  16. Before everyone completely absolves Kobe and Bynum as the only two players who came to play---they, along with everyone else, were culprits for the Lakers awful screen/roll coverage, closeouts, and inability to tag the three point line in transition. Kobe had a pretty solid floor game, but had no offensive help. Virtually everyone outside of Kobe was tight, especially Odom who was a disaster. This was a gutless performance. What a way for Dallas to excercise some demons after their Game 4 Portland meltdown. What a great job of keeping their composure after adversity. To think some fools on this site wanted Rick Carlisle fired after the game, though I have to eat some crow, I wanted Jason Terry fired.
  17. Because I don't think, for the most part, Fisher's been a huge problem. I think if Gasol played like the Gasol of last year the Lakers would be much better off in this series and may even be up 3-0. Plus his defense has been awful. He's reverted to his 2008 form. This doesn't mean you abandon the guy. He's been really, really good for the Lakers and can easily raise his game to his 2009/2010 form. I think the skill is still there. You know who has played worse (at his role) than Fisher? Steve Blake, everybody's perfect signing. Matt Barnes has been invisible, and with Artest out and Odom at the three, the Lakers lacked depth at two positions and overextended their frontcourt.
  18. Schedules are set up so series start and end on weekends. Because of that, the series have one week where they only play three games, and one of those games is on a weekend. I don't know why they set up doubleheaders every day though. Probably to cut production costs of having to use the studio every day. They save a day of renting the studio by not having any games on Thursday. Also, they may have figured since it was Cinco de Mayo, people wouldn't be paying attention to basketball much.
  19. Also, Durant has been too timid to try and get all the way to the rim. When he gets a half step, he needs to get all the way to the basket and put pressure on Memphis' defense.
  20. We saw it during the postseason last year, and we're seeing it again. Tony Allen is a special defender. If the Grizzlies are decent next year, he's going to be the number two candidate for DPOY. His ability to deny the ball, pressure the ball, move his feet, push players off the block, and contest without fouling or special. Not since Artest's heyday has there been a wing defender this good.
  21. Why do people keep saying what's happened to the Thunder offense? Allen plays good denial defense on Durant, and Westbrook, as I've been saying all year, ha sno idea how to run an offense and get to a second option that doesn't involve him jack up a wild shot. Of course with Memphis playing strong perimeter defense, the Thunder offense will disappear. Westbrook has to figure out how to get something going when Durant is taken away.
  22. Strange third option...Randolph step-back. Thunder defended the first two curls well though, so more power to them.
