  1. The ironic thing is that arguably wasn't even Barkley's best game of the series...he had 42/15/10/2/2 on 16-22 shooting in Game 5 of that series. It's a very tough call as to who had the better Game 7. One thing to remember is the Kings were not the same Kings that took the Lakers to 7 games a few seasons prior. Webber played only 23 games that season and was one the decline, Bobby Jackson didn't play that post-season, etc... The Sonics were probably the better team and were top 5 in the league in both offensive and defensive rating back in 1992-1993. So, I do think that fact should be taken into consideration. Overall, I'd say KG had the slightly more impressive game. His defense was unebelievable, cleaned the boards and he was extremely clutch.

  3. Oh [expletive] Miami comes to NJ on Halloween...gotta find a way to get those tix. Can't wait to see the Prudential Center too.
  4. Funny...if you replace the name "LeBron" with Jordan and "Wade" with Kobe, you basically got the same arguement (besides 3pt shooting and FT shooting) yet you say Kobe>Jordan. Not to start THAT arguement all over again, it's just ironic to me. Anyway, LeBron is the better player, although it is a LOT close than most people would leave you to believe. LeBron is a more versatile scorer as he's got a better midrange and 3pt jumper, has better court vision, tends to be less sloppy with TO's, is a better man-to-man defender, better rebounder, and statistically is a better clutch player. All of the things LeBron is good at its by a slim margin, but he's the better overall player nontheless.
  5. Green, Gordon and Westbrook IMO. Green and Gordon don't offer anything the team is lacking, and Rondo/Rose/Billups/Curry is enough at the PG position and all are probably better suited for the international game.
  6. Nets P.O.V- Good trade. They lose a solid role player in Lee, but Murphy's a quality player and has a $11M expiring contract. Pacers P.O.V- They got a very good PG in Collison who will be in a great situation in Indiana. He'll have the chance to really showcase his talents and expand his game along with the likes of Granger, Hibbert, etc... Next season they'll have plenty of caproom and some nice talent to finally make Indiana relevant again. Hornets P.O.V- I don't think Ariza is exactly what Paul had in mind when the Hornets vowed to improve their roster. Now they lose a terrific young PG with All-Star potential and are left with a disgruntled superstar PG that will in all likelihood be gone sooner rather than later. And all they got to show for it at this time is Trevor Ariza. Yikes... Rockets P.O.V- They save money and get a solid back-up in Lee. Ariza was expendable once Budinger developed and they got Martin. Get rid of a bad contract, gained an asset and saved money.
  7. It depends on how these next 2 seasons go. He's still quite a productive and effective player, and as long as that sustains and the Spurs are in the post-season, I can't see him hanging them up. Now, if Parker is gone and the team is a fringe playoff team by the end of his contract, I can see him retiring.
  8. Doesn't make Denver a contender. In all likelihood Denver has virtually no shot against LA/Boston/Orlando/Miami. Eh...may sound OK in theory, but Billups has started every single game since the 2002-2003 season. It isn't that easy getting a guy who's essentially been a career starter, is the team's floor general and had a CAREER HIGH in points last season to take a backseat to a 2nd year player who's proven nothing on an NBA level besides being a decent back-up. Not saying that Billups wouldn't be happy to come off the bench if it was asked of him, but it'd be a pretty big adjustment for not only him, but the rest of the team. Besides, why would you want to take away the team's floor general and go-to veteran from the starting lineup besides saving him a few extra minutes? Also, you guys now have Al Harrington. The bench will be fine and capable of spelling the starters a few extra minutes. Keep Billups as a starter and simply reduce his minutes. By far the best option. Agree. The way this team is set-up now, they don't have a shot at taking down the top 3-4 teams in the league. From a basketball standpoint they desperately need rebounding, and while Al Harrington will help, they need to make certain adjustments as teams beat up the Nuggets in that department. Other than that the team doesn't have any other glaring weaknesses from an X's and O's standpoint. However, the inconsistency is certainly a major issue. It's not just the inconsistencies of the healthy players, but also the inconsistencies of the the injured players. Melo hasn't played 70 games or more in 3 of the last 4 seasons. K-Mart hasn't played 70 games or more in 4 of the last 5 seasons. Nene is historically injury prone, although has been healthy the last 2 seasons. Billups is getting older. Even George Karl had to miss major time last year, and I'm skeptical he won't miss some time this year (just not to the extent that he did last season). With so much uncertainty and instability, the team is doomed to fail.
  9. Lee is still one of the most underrated players in the league. People assume that he put up the numbers he did just because of D'Antoni's system. It's just not true as Lee is extremely talented. Very athletic, destroys teams on the PnR regardless of the PG, he's dangerous in face-up situations, got a great jumper and can finish near the rim, and his rebounding is excellent. He's also a VERY good and underrated passer, unlike most of the other PF/C FA's. Unfortunately in GS he won't get the chance to really improve his defense like he should, but offensively and on the boards he's incredibly effective.
  10. Really? I like the very few songs he did end up putting out. Granted most of it is silly, but it's easy to listen to and the dude has talent (only spent $17 to make the album).
  11. So, anyone ever listen to Benefit? I'm sure some people know the Super Mario Bros rap, but he made a few really, really good songs. Supposedly he's dead or something now (or more likely just didn't pursue rapping and he wasn't famous enough for people to track him down), but the dude had a lot of talent... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6SmlAWKXpqI http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJorr8Pivu0 http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l4PHiQleakc http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBdCKj5nBaA
  12. Haha yeah everything is a big deal in the offseason. I found it funny though, definitely shouldn't sway anyone's view of LeBron either way.
  13. Beat ya to it... http://www.otrbasketball.com/forums/topic/15030-lebron-pwns-little-kids/page__view__findpost__p__171332
  14. Lol I know LeBron isn't out there to dominate the kids, but I still thought those 2 plays were dick moves. It'd be one thing if they were like 12-13 year olds, but arguably the greatest player in the world stealing a pass, crossing a kid up and throwing himself an off-the-glass alley oop against 8-9 year olds (tops) is pretty...I don't know...
  15. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EkLrmEHIkOA My friend was bumping this the other day and it was the first time I heard it in years. Glad to be back in my current rotation.
  16. ...He stole the ball from a kid, crossed another kid up, then threw himself an alley oop off the glass....then while trying a put-back dunk didn't realize there was a kid underneath him and knocked him over (could have been REAL bad if the kid was a little closer)... Of course the kids loved seeing him dunk and crap, but the 2 plays above made me
  17. If there is ANY classic Pharaohe Monch song it's... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wvuNK0DIVnU Alchemist + any good rapper is always a treat.
  18. Sick song. Always liked Pharaohe Monch, sort of reminds me of MF Doom with his flow. One of the better underground rappers out there...
  19. He has the right to have an opinion, and I don't think it's SOOOOO far out there to predict the Heat can possibly tie or beat 72 wins. Afterall, at no time in the last few decades (except maybe the early 2000's Lakers) have 2 of the top 3 players been on the same team...in their absolute prime. Throw in another top 15 player, a few elite 3pt shooters, good depth, and a good defensive coach, and you certainly have all the proper ingredients. I personally don't think it will happen because the '95-'96 Bulls had their main core together for a number of years and had the luck of being in a league with 2 brand new expansion teams. Top to bottom the league is deeper with the bottom teams being a lot stronger than they were in the '90's. But if any team has the potential to do it, it's the Miami Heat.
  20. http://outofbounds.yahoo.com/?id=21303209 Wow, what a douchebag haha. I mean, I understand throwing down a few dunks on the fastbreak, but not stealing a little kid's pass and throwing an alley oop to yourself. And also knocking some kid down while trying to throw down a tip-in dunk. These kids are like 6-7 years old. C'mon lol...
  21. I kind of agree, although the Nets still have a very young core with potential, and just as importantly still have a decent amount of cap space. Not to mention plenty of draft picks. Even though they struck out on this FA, at least they didn't give a Rudy Gay or Joe Johnson max money. That would have seriously locked this team in terms of cap space for many years. Instead they took a conservative approach and still have the cap room and assets to either sign a big-name FA down the road or make a trade for a star player.
  22. Hahahahahahaha...funny... So you're telling me that LeBron had a more impressive season than the 2003-2004 MVP, Kevin Garnett's? Garnett led his team to 58 wins (good for first in the WC) and averaged 24.2 PPG / 13.9RPG / 5.0APG / 2.2BPG / 1.5SPG / 49.9% FG. Duncan led his team to 57 wins and averaged 22.3PPG / 12.4RPG / 3.1APG / 2.7BPG / 50.1% FG. Really think LeBron should have won it over Duncan as well?
  23. Videos + Article Can't make this [expletive] up...
  24. Evans certainly had the better season statistically. Not only did he have a better FG % but he also managed to keep his TO's to just 3.0 per game (compared to LeBron's career high 3.5 his rookie season). However, I do think I'd give James the nod simply because I think he made a bigger impact. He was one of the very few big-time rookies whose team was actually BETTER statistically with him on the court (for Rose, Evans, Beasley and many others this is not the case). LeBron helped the Cavs win 18 more games than the previous season, and that was with their previous best player (Slick Ricky) traded halfway through the season. He kept them in the playoff hunt until the very end. Evans' impact was smaller, and his team only won 8 more games than in 2008-2009. Granted I know there are plenty of other variables to take into account, but I think the proof is in the pudding that LeBron as a rookie made a greater impact than Evans.
  25. I don't understand it either. I understand that Horford is certainly better suited for PF, but so is Josh Smith. I assume that Pachulia will be moved to starting Center but it just doesn't seem like the best move.
