J. Sloan coming out of retirement? http://www.speculativesports.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/04/jerry-sloan-to-resign-300x200.jpg According to a recent article in the Journal Times, former Utah Jazz coach Jerry Sloan will probably be coaching in the NBA next season. Said the article: Sloan, who abruptly retired in February of 2011, turns 70 on March 28. He is one of only three coaches to have 15 consecutive winning seasons. The other two — Pat Riley and Phil Jackson. Were Sloan to come out of retirement he would become the old active NBA head coach. Riley and Jackson, both of whom are retired, are both 66 years old. http://www.athline.com/3211/jerry-sloan-to-come-out-of-retirement/

Chris Paul will recruit players to join him with the Clippers. “I’ll be the first one to tell any player that this is where you want to be,” Paul said. “The team has all the small things, the great training staff, the great practice facility and a guy like Blake Griffin to play with. So, why not?” Neil Olshey believes the Clippers have become an attractive destination for free agents. “I know the culture has changed because we went from a ‘have to’ organization — ‘I have to go to the Clippers,’ ‘I got traded to the Clippers,’ ‘I got drafted by the Clippers’ — to a ‘want to.’ Guys want to be here now,” said Olshey, Clippers vice president of basketball operations. “They want to play here.” Read more: http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/221182/Paul_Plans_To_Recruit_Free_Agents_For_Clippers Via: http://clippers.ocregister.com/2012/05/23/paul-might-be-clippers-best-recruiter-in-offseason/

5 Reasons Why the Lakers Can Upset the Thunder
Sħãlïq™ replied to Legacy's topic in General NBA Discussion
I said no one will care about the fact that your Lakers had 'a shot' in a Second Round series where they lost in five. And yes, I know at least the Lakers won a game, and didn't get swept. Ask Kobe if he cares about that lone win... he'll probably wanna kill you. -

Of course, a healthy 'Lob Angeles Clippers' team can prevail in a 7-game series against either one of the East's elite. That's with Chauncey being healthy too, 'hyper-sleuth'. -

Is there a way we could get notifications (by e-mail, PM or whatever) every time we gain reputation? Or, if that's too complicated, how about a drop-down menu or a pop-up window where each member could track his Rep history, like on Topbuzz, for example: http://i.imgur.com/CiMDD.png

KIR = "Keeping It Real". A cool way to get to know (better) the community -- in each 'round' the board's got like a week(?) to ask a member 10 questions. I miss KIR...

Half of 2014 World Cup stadiums a concern SÃO PAULO — Football's world governing body FIFA believes that six of 12 Brazilian stadiums that are to host the 2014 World Cup may not be ready in time, the daily "Folha de São Paulo" reported Tuesday. The paper cited a study by a FIFA consultant on the stadium construction or renovation program pointing to various degrees "of risk" for arenas in Manaus, Cuiabá, Porto Alegre, Curitiba and São Paulo. But the biggest concern is for the stadium in the northeastern city of Natal because of a "tight schedule" that left no "margin for problems", it added. Manaus and Cuiabá have "medium risk" while Curitiba and Porto Alegre have "low risk", with a greater chance of being ready in time. The report indicated that two years before the World Cup gets underway, work on the 12 stadiums have progressed on average by 34.4 %. Source
