  1. If you believe Bosh and LeBron hadn't had that planned before hand then I think you are sadly mistaken. Just stating that sometimes you receive nothing which is why Orlando should be happy with what they get.
  2. How is it irrelevant? Top players who got nothing in return because they didn't even let them know. Dwight has said he wants Brooklyn which leaves limited options for him to begin with. If Dwight reiterates those demands again the cards are pretty much set.
  3. What I was showing was top ten players don't always get top talent back. Most of them too got what they wanted. Carmelo wanted New York, Bosh and Bron Miami and Paul wanted LA (maybe not Clippers). Dwight give the Magic six playoff trips and is a retard and opting in allowing to even get one pick. I think this is a rookie mistake by the Orlando GM because Dwight knows a lot of NBA players and it's not the best on either sides but Dwight has the final say in 2013. I find it ridiculous that as a Net fan that we have to give up that much to someone we could have signed in the offseason. Pairing him up with Lopez and still keeping Brooks would have easily made us the favorites behind Miami but now it looks like if a deal goes through that we'd be top four or five in the East.
  4. Would rather Kidd but I guess scouts have faith in Tyshawn Taylor and same with Mirza.
  5. LeBron James = Nothing. Chris Bosh = Nothing. Carmelo Anthony = Danilo Gallinari, Wilson Chandler, Timofey Mozgov and a first. Chris Paul = Eric Gordon, Chris Kaman, Al-Farouq Aminu and a first. And it's for a guy coming off back surgery. I just want this to be over with, shit!
  6. I think it's a great trade for both sides IMO. Nets are trying to make as much noise entering their first season as they can and they've clearly did it with the Johnson and Wallace deals while Atlanta clears cap space and also gets a heck of a player in Morrow too. Jordan Williams was having a great end of the season run and would make a semi-decent backup on a rebuilding team.
  7. I somehow already have him as my least favorite Net.
  8. He wants to come but doesn't mean he will be traded here. Clearly the Nets have been working non-stop since it was known back during the season that he wanted to be in Brooklyn but two GM's have turned the Nets offers down. Kobe Bryant could want to play in Brooklyn too but if the man in charge of a player under contract says no, then that is the answer. Rebuilding heading into Brooklyn was out of the question. Our owner made a bold statement on the goal to winning a championship and these are pieces to improve the team. I'm not one of those guys that says we have a rich owner and can do what we want but this trade improves our team for next year. Johnson is arguably one of the best shooting guards the Nets have seen in years yet people concentrate on his contract rather than what he actually may bring. Nets averaged a total of 93 points per game last season and if they are able to resign Deron, the three players average 55 points between them. Add that with a healthy Lopez and at least you have a stepping stone to a playoff team.
  9. I'd give a 46-year-old Lemieux that cash rather than Jagr.
  10. By all reports, Deron had some say in this deal. I'd rather have overpaid talent than overpaid bums like Outlaw and Petro and the whole point is to aim to make the playoffs. If Nets have a second round knockout this season I don't see how you can consider it a fail when just two years ago we sat on 12 wins. I don't know what everyone expects the Nets to do. Good players are expensive asset wise and we got him for pretty much nothing. Honestly the worst thing this franchise could do is have another season like the previous, especially moving into enemy ground that boasts the likes of Amare and Carmelo.
  11. Billy King? He's been here two years and got us a top three point guard, second team all-rookie and two quality starters in this league. Does nobody remember the days of Alonzo Mourning and Shareef Abdur-Rahim? Magic won't give us Dwight so are we going to overpay Lin, Green or someone else? Least he's trying to improve this team rather than hoping Sean Williams and Terrence Williams pan out.
  12. Yeah wasn't meaning with the exact picks they had but I believe it was Houston that moved into the 19th spot for pretty much nothing. I get international players get a lot of love in Toronto but would love to see them have 3-4 Canadians or at least some in the D-League.
  13. Ott for Roy trade is pretty good for both sides.
  14. Only thing that really concerns me is we are trying to build a championship roster and avoiding Dwight could hurt. He wants to be on a winner to so giving up hope on him and allowing him to go to Lakers or another powerhouse could have similar results to our back-to-back Finals trips.
  15. Like it -- sort of. Still think we can find a way for Dwight considering everything that has been going on. If he doesn't sign an extension through the season, we have an entire season to find the space for someone who "wants" to play in Brooklyn. Love moving Brooks to the bench. Don't think we've had someone of his talent coming off the bench in a very, very long time.
  16. Thing with getting Bynum is do you take the risk on another immature star (use that word lightly) heading close to free agency? Obviously completely different situation as Bynum would get paid and removed from the shadow of Bryant but still risky.
  17. I agree as both sides clearly didn't get on the same page. The media isn't helping the situation either but in all honesty, Orlando will come out as the biggest losers IMO. The amount of press this whole situation is getting can't be good for a franchise no matter what they get in a return. Honestly if he signs anywhere but the Nets I'll laugh. He was already a joke to me when he first came into the league and preached religion then managed to knock up a cheerleader so this situation is just the tipping point.
  18. Guess we had a little help from Prust girlfriend or whatever her sexy French Canadian self is.
  19. Was reading an ESPN article that stated "Dwight Howard could’ve done it the easy way. All the Magic center had to do was opt out of the final year of his contract in Orlando and he’d be free to sign with the Brooklyn Nets." However, he didn't and opted in and now is asking for a trade to a team that he had been rumored to being dealt with at the deadline. With the recent championship celebrations of LeBron James and Chris Bosh, you have to think this circus could of been a lot worse for the Magic organization considering the possibility of just having cap space rather than having young players and draft picks. Yes, Nets potential trade bait isn't great but isn't terrible compared to the latter -- zip. Tyshawn Taylor, Tornike Shengelia, İlkan Karaman and Bojan Bogdanović are interesting players, especially the progress Bogdanović has been making this season. Add that with last years rookies, Marshon Brooks and Jordan Williams, the youth is there. Not to mention the rise of Gerald Green and the unknowns of Brook Lopez paired up with numerous picks can end the circus with at least somewhat of a return of a player whose image has been tarnished either way he played it out. If he would have left without anything, he's the enemy and he asks to be traded to Brooklyn when he's still under contract, he is also the enemy. Now the blame doesn't shy away from Howard as the era of choosing where and who you play with is just beginning, but this whole situation is overblown and overexposed. I hope Rob Hennigan will do the right thing and make this is quick and painless as possible. Not just for the Nets sake but send him anywhere to at least end this "sources says" bullshit for now.
  20. The contract supposedly cheaper in the first two years to allow the Nets to make some moves.
  21. Would love to see this happen for the exact reason Wayne is trying to lure him here but the Raptors have had plenty of chances to grab some Canadian talent and decided to go elsewhere. Andrew Nicholson, Kris Joseph and Robert Sacre would instantly be fan favorites in Toronto just like Magloire is right now. Not saying Toronto has to be Team Canada but their is talent being overlooked for a team that hasn't made the playoffs in years. Just look at what the Blue Jays have been doing.
  22. I'm a big fan of Batum but if you followed what happened to the Nets the past what two years, you'd understand the game plan. Nets have aimed for LeBron, Carmelo, and all these superstars to end up getting Johan Petro, Jordan Farmar and Travis Outlaw. Wallace is by far better than anyone we have signed in the past couple years and Nets resigned him quickly so the same scenario didn't play out. Some big risks being taken but least they are trying to compete with the likes of the Lakers, Heat and others finally.
  23. 1. Billy King is our GM. 2. Batum is RFA. 3. Dwight Howard wants Nets. 4. Deron will want Nets if 4 happens. 5. Making of a playoff team.
  24. Great day of moves. Desjardins and Bouillon are among my favorite Canadiens ever so great to see them back.
