I dunno about that. I mean, yeah they'll definitely be a first round exit, because that's just the nature of the NBA. But I'm not sure what else could they do to build this team (that would be significant) short of convincing a superstar to come here, which isn't happening. This coming draft class looks awful, so I am thrilled they didn't tank this year.

The coolest part is that they finished last season 5-22 and started this season 3-13. So during that 43 game stretch, they were 8-35. This is basically the exact same group now, just slightly improved on paper, maybe. If that isn't a case for a guy to win coach of the year, I don't know what is.

Two trades today. Alexei Kovalev to Pittsburgh for a 6th or 7th round pick, and Dan Ellis to Anaheim for Curtis McElhinney straight up.

This is awesome. I was not as big of a sports fanatic during that 2000-01 run and thus, did not get to enjoy it THAT much, so this is my first real experience with a fun, competitive NBA team. <3 Doug Collins.

Yeah, it's been pretty obvious for a while that this would happen. On a similar note, I was reading earlier today that Jason Kapono and Darius Songaila have scored a combined 30 points this year. That is 1 point for every $381,981.33 spent. Talk about value!

My favorite part of this trade is that a local Blues writer had the scoop before Dreger/McKenzie. Love when that happens.

Getting sick of Briere. Tries to compensate for his lack of defense by taking horrendous stick penalties at horrendous times. Well, he's a hell of a player, have to take the good with the bad, but it's excruciating to watch him play in his own end.

All I said was Doug should be top 3. Honestly haven't done enough homework on other candidates, since I admittedly don't watch much NBA (besides Sixers games), I was just saying I find it hard to believe that there are three better coaching jobs out there this season. If I am wrong, feel free to correct me. Why not?
