  1. And then Ellsbury's great range goes to waste, lol. Crawford hasn't played center in 5 years, I really doubt they move him there now, especially when they have Ellsbury.
  2. I feel like Crawford's awesome range goes to waste playing in LF at Fenway.
  3. Uh, the Red Sox signed Carl Crawford. 7 years $142 million. That was rather sudden.
  4. Second guessing the pick is stupid. At the time, there was 99% consensus to take Turner. Just because he has sucked is no reason to say it was a bad pick. It was absolutely the right pick at the time.
  5. This is the worst 3rd period I have ever seen. And Danny Briere, as skilled as he is, is a [expletive]ing moron. Also, can anybody on this team win a damn faceoff. Jesus.
  6. Will the Penguins ever lose again? Jesus Christ. And yes, Crosby is the undisputed best player now. Not even a discussion IMO.
  7. Blah...Flyers dominate the period, Sharks score with 4 seconds left on a crazy deflection to take a 1-0 lead. Typical.
  8. When I think of "Safeco Field players", he is not really the first guy to come to mind.
  9. Why is Seguin even in the NHL if he isn't going to touch the ice in the 3rd period? Seriously, if I were a Bruins fan I'd rather him be in juniors/the AHL.
  10. Holy [expletive] lol...if I did not have exams this week I know where I would be tomorrow night.... http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g96/philsphan1210/Picture1-26.png 93 cents, really?
  11. Jason Bartlett to Padres. Not sure for what yet.
  12. I am just happy that I was not alive then and didn't have to deal with it. Would have been the worst day of my life...
  13. http://www.gogaminggiant.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/facepalm.jpg
  14. That is all well and good, but the facts are he walks too many guys and last season he allowed 4 of every 10 left handed batters he faced to get on base. I do not see much reason for optimism, but again, I am only OK with this because of the insane RP market.
  15. His K:BB ratio for the past 5 or 6 years scares me. We are just coming off the JC Romero era, do not need a clone of his. But, I am OK with Reyes on a cheap 1-year deal considering how whack the RP market is this season. But again, I'd have preferred Sherrill. Similar situation, way more upside.
  16. I'll pass on Dye. Jones actually intrigues me a bit. Like his versatility most of all. I have a couple trade options that intrigue me more though (Mike Morse, Ryan Ludwick, maybe Aaron Rowand if the Giants eat most of his remaining salary). I'd also consider taking a flier Lastings Milledge. There are a surprisingly large amount of options out there.
  17. Also, Jeff Francoeur to Kansas City. So, in the past 24 hours, the top 2 right handed OF bats on my Phillies wish list have gone off the market. So I guess we are now down to Magglio Ordonez, or a trade. And my hopes are not high about Magglio.
  18. Supposedly close to a one year deal with Dennys Reyes. Not a fan. If they were going to take a flier on a LOOGY project, I'd have preferred it to be George Sherrill (who is supposedly going to Atlanta). Reyes strikes me as JC Romero 2.0, with perhaps worse command. Ground ball pitcher, at least. But way way way too many walks for me. Especially for the primary LOOGY, unless they plan on giving that role to Antonio Bastardo.
  19. Carlos Pena is incredible at what he does. Poor man's Ryan Howard/Adam Dunn at the plate, with an incredible glove at first.. And he should mash at Wrigley, as Flash said. Bargain for the Cubs.
  20. He has been incredibly disappointing. But, coincidence or not, he had his best games when Iguodala was out injured.
  21. Certainly makes sense. And I fully expect the Sixers to get jobbed.
  22. Oh wow, Pirates giving Matt Diaz a 2 year deal. Smart for him I guess. I doubt anyone else offered more than 1 year, and he should get a ton of playing time there. Would have loved him on the Phillies but he'd have been a platoon player here.
  23. I forgot how quickly most of the insiders change their stories at the winter meetings. Either their "sources" like [expletive]ing with them, or they are just retarded. Jon Heyman did a great job illustrating my point today. This morning, Heyman's "sources" were saying the Nationals were "in on Cliff Lee". Later in the day, he had the Nationals offering Lee 7 years and being favorites to sign him, and now he has the Nationals as out on Lee altogether, saying they never were "in" in the first place. Moral of the story: unless Ken Rosenthal or Joel Sherman is saying it, don't believe it until you see it. I believe Rosenthal is the one who broke the Michael Young rumor, actually.
