  1. Lmao. "Timmy what are you doing??". Best part of any commercial yet.
  2. I know. Moon and Entwistle were my 2 favorite members of The Who by far, sucks that they couldn't still be around haha. Still was pretty good though. And wow, Sean Payton has balls.
  3. You guys are insane. The Who are about 30 years past their prime but I'd still rather listen to them than most of the garbage you guys want to hear. I say it every year, the "wardrobe malfunction" was the greatest thing to ever happen to the half time show. Since then, every year we have gotten acts that have actually contributed something to music.
  4. My car: http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g96/philsphan1210/0206001654.jpg Took forever to dig it out.
  5. I was just going to post about this game. Also, check this out, for those who didn't see it. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=z0MQLmceKVw&feature=player_embedded Also, the NBC guys were talking about how Ovechkin/Crosby is as good, if not better than Magic/Bird was, and as much as I cannot stand Sidney Crosby I agree completely. This is great stuff to watch, it's a shame the NHL is so irrelevant in many parts of the USA because these games are awesome to watch.
  6. Well, they will need to figure something out in the next few years. He is their franchise and is a once in a lifetime type hitter.
  7. He will still get a very long contract. And I agree with Fish. I also think it's insane that the Twins haven't found a new position for him yet. With every season he catches 140 games, he is knocking serious time off his career. And I really don't think a really long contract such as 10 years is insane, if it is structured right. It's way more common in hockey because if the tight salary cap restrictions, but even in baseball you can make it work.
  8. Pathetic road trip. 3 teams with all kinds of problems, seemed like a gift for the Flyers since they need points so bad. To only get 2 points out of this road trip is just horrible. This offense is so painfully inconsistent.
  9. The Flyers traded OK Tollefsen to the Red Wings for Ville Leino. Not really sure where Leino fits onto the roster so I am guessing another trade is coming. Also, Ray Emery's hip is bothering him again and he is not playing again tonight. [expletive]. At least Leighton has been just as lights out as Razor recently, but still we need him to be "the guy" down the stretch. I guess the Olympic break coming soon is a good thing. Another note on Emery...I read the other day that the Flyers have had preliminary conversations with Emery's agent about a contract extension. He is without a doubt the most talented goalie the Flyers have had since Ron Hextall, and he has behaved himself all season, so I certainly hope this gets done.
  10. Brian Burke's son died in a car crash today. Sad.
  11. Well, they had no choice but to trade him. He turned down a 12 year $101 million contract, and for obvious reasons the Thrashers (and pretty much any other NHL team under this tight salary cap, if they desire to have a half decent team around him) could not afford to go higher. And if they would have held onto him, they would have gotten stuck in the situation Florida had last year with Jay Bouwmeester. I really don't think what the Thrashers got was that terrible actually, considering all the circumstances. When you look at the trade on paper it seems like a rip off, but since there's a good chance he is a 1 year rental that was probably the max they could have gotten. I'm just surprised the Thrashers agreed to take Patrice Cormier, haha.
  12. Apparently the Iguodala/Dalembert for Stoudemire talks are gaining a lot of momentum and Phoenix really wants Dre. http://www.csnphilly.com/pages/landing_09?Hot-Commodity-Suns-Showing-Interest-in-I=1&blockID=175381&feedID=704
  13. Maybe this was the best the Thrashers could do when word came out that he turned down 12 years and $101 mil, and that essentially there's a good chance he'd be a half-season rental. But knowing that this deal went down makes me even more upset that the Flyers don't have a first round pick, haha. Well of course the reason we don't have a first is because of the Pronger deal which obviously I can't complain about, but had the Flyers owned a first round pick they absolutely could have topped the Devils deal. Fitting him under the cap would have been another issue but as far as talent in the trade they could have topped this. Oh well. With that said, I am picturing a Parise/Zajac/Kovalchuk line and am having nightmares already.
  14. Wow....I cannot believe the Devils basically stole Kovalchuk. They BETTER not resign him.
  15. Sounds like he will be going to the Devs. Just plan their parade route now. Wonder what is going back to Atlanta though.
  16. Really hope it isn't the Devils...
  17. Ilya Kovalchuk has been traded and it will be announced tonight. Not sure where. It is not the Bruins, not the Flyers, and not the Rangers. Blackhawks maybe? We will find out soon I guess.
  18. The Phillies have given out a few minor league deals this week and filled out the 40-man roster. They signed INF Brian Bocock, OF Fredy Guzman, and RHP Oscar Villarreal. I don't think any will make the team out of Spring Training, but all are solid AAA depth moves. I'd say Bocock probably has the best chance of any of them to make the team, since as of today Juan Castro is the leading candidate to be our utility infielder, which basically means that job can be had if another infielder in the organization has a great spring. Villarreal probably has next to no shot, since he is coming off Tommy John surgery, is injury prone, and is prone to giving up homeruns. In other words, he is a disaster waiting to happen pitching in Citizens Bank Park. But still, not the worst depth move since he has experience and you can never have enough pitching. Don't know a lot about Guzman other than that he has been in the Yankees organization and has a bit of MLB experience, but he probably needs 3 or 4 guys in front of him on the depth chart to get hurt for him to have a chance at making the roster.
  19. This was the exact opposite of a typical Sixers game. Close game against a good team going down to the wire. I think we all know how these usually end. But Eddie actually had the right lineups on the floor at the right times and they did not fold. Solid W although I agree with Paul. I hate rooting for one of my teams to lose but with the way the NBA is set up today they are better off folding.

  21. Michael Vick is available, maybe the Patriots should acquire him.
  22. This is the worst loss I can remember in a few years, given how badly they need points and all. They did not play awful, but they cannot get 0 points against the worst team in the NHL. And with 16 seconds left in the game? Give me a [expletive]ing break.
  23. [expletive]ing horrible. Lost 1-0 to the [expletive]ing Edmonton Oilers, gave up a power play goal with 16 seconds left. This is about as awful as it gets. Didn't help that it was a [expletive]ing bull[expletive] penalty to give the Oilers that power play.
  24. On lostpedia somebody pointed out that when Sayid came back to life and said "what's going on" or w/e, he had a far different accent than he normally had and he actually sounded a lot like Jacob. I think that may just be coincidence but it is certainly interesting. And yeah the island being under water is another question I have. I am sure the alternate reality and the "real" reality will converge at some point and we'll find all of that out.
  25. Couple random thoughts/theories. If you are still a few episodes behind (cough cough fly3rs) and don't want to see any spoilers then don't read ahead. Alright, first one is kind of obvious, but I think it's pretty clear that the new Sayid is Jacob, and this is shaping up to be an epic battle between fake Locke and fake Sayid. Also, I am guessing that Richard came to the island as a slave on that ship that Jacob and Jacob's nemesis saw sailing in during the last episode of last season ("Locke" (Jacob's nemesis) said something to Richard about it being nice to finally see him without chains). I read that theory today and it is one that makes a lot of sense. Main questions I have right now...What did Jacob mean by "they're coming" before Ben killed him? What did Juliet mean before she died? Why was Desmond on the plane in the bizarro alternate reality? Why were some of the original passengers not on the plane? Anyway, can't wait for next Tuesday haha. This is going to be a hell of a season.
