  1. It is not worth the energy trying to figure out where they will take the show.
  2. I know, but still well worth watching I am sure. And after waiting 8 months or so for Lost to come back you can be sure I will be watching the entire 3 hours haha.
  3. 8 PM can't come soon enough. 5 and a half hours!
  4. Word is that the Twins and Joe Mauer are close on a 10 year extension.
  5. We had some nice "Fire Eddie" chants going on Friday night.
  6. I agree that the Yankees should have been on the list, but the Phillies were losers this winter? Elaborate please.
  7. Yeah I saw that. Brandon Prust is in the trade as well. Damn, Rangers did pretty well .
  8. I agree. I have never been that high on Phaneuf. Honestly I don't think he is much better than Ian White.
  9. Yeah. I understand that Toskala has been bad and I get why they wanted to get rid of him, but Giguere has a huge cap hit. Is there really enough of an upgrade (if any upgrade at all) from Gustavsson to Giguere to make it worth taking that contract on? If this was the only way to get rid of Toskala I get it I guess, just seems like a huge step backward, especially for a team as bad as the Maple Leafs.
  10. I don't understand the Giguere trade at all, from Toronto's perspective. Seems entirely pointless.
  11. It's already been discussed a bit in the NHL season thread but I feel like this needs it's own thread. Trade 1: Toronto gets: Dion Phaneuf Fredrik Sjostrom Keith Aulie Calgary gets: Matt Stajan Jamal Mayers Ian White Niklas Hagman Trade 2: Toronto gets: JS Giguere Anaheim gets: Vesa Toskala Jason Blake
  12. Giguere to Toronto for Jason Blake and Vesa Toskala. Wow!!
  13. Well, that was surprising news to wake up to.
  14. Yeah every day. I am also a fly on the wall at the GM meetings and I listen in on every phone call between GMs. Lol it's called mlbtraderumors.com and Twitter people.
  15. The Flyers signed Lukas Krajicek today. I'd be lying if I said I knew much about him, but I am guessing this means the end of OK Tollefsen being in the lineup every night, AKA a stop-gap until Danny Syvret and/or Ryan Parent get back. Or possibly this means Oskars Bartulis will head back to the AHL. Who knows, we will find out. Anyway, to make room, Mika Pyorala was sent to the Phantoms. He had been a healthy scratch pretty much every game for the past month and a half or so.
  16. Alright, well thank goodness the Flyers won today, despite one of the worst officiating displays I have seen all season, which further added to my suspicion that the NHL has it out for the Flyers as a result of the Carcillo/Gaborik incident. For those who didn't see it, the Flyers were up 2-0 when Kimmo Timonen scored. Scott Hartnell bumped into Dwayne Roloson after the puck was clearly in the net. None of the officials signaled no-goal. and Kerry Fraser who was standing 5 feet away from the net and had the best view of anybody signaled good goal. Roloson and the rest of the Islanders complained, and the officials looked at the jumbotron for a replay and then decided to change their mind, which is bull[expletive] on so many levels. First of all, goaltender interference is not a reviewable play. Also, every single official agreed that it was a good goal when it happened, and they did not decide to change their mind until after the Islanders complained and they saw the arena-vision replay. And all of this doesn't change the fact that the puck was clearly past Roloson before Hartnell made contact! Anyway, they called off the goal and gave the Islanders a power play, which they scored on, and made it a 2-1 game instead of 3-0. This is the second 2-goal swing this week that the officials have caused against the Flyers. Peter Laviolette was going insane. I really thought John Stevens was a good coach but he never would have called out poor officiating, and I am happy to see Laviolette ball up and call them out. Anyway, I hope this a trend that doesn't continue much longer.
  17. Someone convince me there is not a conspiracy against the Flyers.....oh my god.
  18. I really like the new lines. Gagne-Richards-Hartnell Powe-Carter-Briere van Riemsdyk-Giroux-Asham Carcillo-Betts-Laperriere The bottom 2 lines have been the same for a while, but today Laviolette switched Hartnell and Powe, and now Hartnell is playing on the right side with Richards and Gagne. Other than Carter, the top 2 lines have sucked for the past couple weeks. The Giroux and Betts lines have been carrying the offense. In the first period today, it looked like the switches paid off because the top 2 lines looked very good. Hopefully this continues.
  19. I'm not sure why that makes you happy, lol. Maybe 3 years ago. But I guess for $400k it can't hurt.
  20. Mike Green was suspended for 3 games. I have not seen the video of what he did.
  21. He has been playing great recently and I think most Sixer fans realize that. However he has the worst contract in the NBA, and this is a 15-31 team. If they can find a way to unload this contract they have to do it. Also, he gets very moody and if something pisses him off and he decides not to play hard for whatever reason, he doesn't. However if he keeps playing like he has recently, I have no problems with him on the court, but with that said the Sixers absolutely have to trade him if they can find someone to take the contract.
  22. Today's game is a must win. There, I said it.
