  1. I think Kidd will still be a Mav next season. I think a lot of teams are 'interested', but nothing more than that as everyone is waiting to spend their money next off-season minus three or four teams.
  2. Could see this one coming with them drafting Pendergraph. They are similar players so I don't see Portland spending the money to keep Frye.
  3. How's it going Thames?
  4. 1) Clippers - Blake Griffin (2) 2) Grizzlies - Hasheem Thabeet (1) - always will be a shot-blocker at the very least, though 3) Thunder - James Harden (9) 4) Kings - Tyreke Evans (6) 5) Timberwolves - Ricky Rubio (10) 6) Timberwolves - Jonny Flynn (8) 7) Warriors - Stephen Curry (7) 8) Knicks - Jordan Hill (3) 9) Raptors - DeMar DeRozan (5) 10) Bucks - Brandon Jennings (4)
  5. I think quite a few people know why they picked Flynn right behind him, actually. It was a very smart business pick for exactly this situation with Rubio. Kahn knew he was going to have a difficult time from the get-go trying to persuade Rubio to play in Minnesota, and he knew it'd be almost an impossible challenge without a back-up point guard plan in place as it would give Rubio's party a ton of leverage. If Minnesota had not drafted Flynn after dealing Foye, Rubio's agent could say "Deal Rubio for another PG or we are headed back to Spain and you're all alone with Sebastian Telfair at the point on your depth chart". Since Minnesota picked Flynn, the team has the leverage in that they could say "That's fine, you can return to Europe and play two or three seasons over there to mature your game, and we'll just rely on Flynn to run the show for the time being". That's a big difference in negotiating power.
  6. Talent-wise, I think Beaubois may very well become the better player of the two. Dude's just a freak of an athlete with an incredible wingspan as a point guard. Sky's the limit for him. Now, relating to team needs, OKC added some much needed depth to their interior while allowing Collison to slide down the 4 where he's more comfortable and Dallas added a point guard with a great ceiling who can learn from the great Jason Kidd, assuming they sign him. Considering the latter, I think this was an excellent swap for both sides.
  7. +1 on both. I just busted out laughing though when I heard that they had picked Hansbrough. Not to be racist or anything, but Hansbrough joins Murphy, Foster, Nesterovic, Dunleavy, and Diener as white players in Indiana. It just gave me the giggles, and I'm white, fwiw.
  8. Carney and Ellington most definitely have he ability to be future All-Stars in the future. It might take them longer to develop, but Minnesota is in no hurry. Chandler's just not much of an upgrade, if any, to trade a potential franchise player for.
  9. I'd take Bass if I were them. Can always use hustle and energy off of the bench, plus he fills up the rebounding and scoring categories on the stat sheet night in and night out when he gets the minutes. Aside from that, there's just no sense in even taking a chance at blowing up your team's chemistry and giving away free points in the playoffs from technicals and what-have-you from Sheed.
  10. Jennings started out on my bad-side when he opted to play overseas instead of choosing a free college education. Then the news came out that he couldn't pass his SAT, which is absolutely pitiful. Didn't hear about him for awhile until SLAM did their issue with Rubio and him, and I kinda started liking Jennings. Then came the events in the week leading up to the draft when he called out Rubio, said he's the best PG, most NBA ready, and blah, blah, blah. Dude, just shut up and let your game speak. Unfortunately, I think he's one of those talents that can more than hang with almost everyone at his position, but he'll be too much of a headcase to do anything special in the league. Dude needs a major attitude adjustment, straight up. There's a huge difference between being a confident player with some swag to your game and being simply a cocky SOB.
  11. It's almost impossible to say. Of those, I just don't know that DKV is a legit option now. I think Rubio, his family, and his agent may have burned too many bridges with that connection with the whole buyout ordeal.
  12. Yeah, it's definitely sad to hear that about his mother. This really puts Duke into a bad situation. I think they now have only two guards on scholarship. If so, they better have an outstanding training staff or one injury to either guard could mess up everything.
  13. Eh, the Wolves just drafted a SG in Ellington and they have two young guys already at the 3 in Brewer and Carney, so they don't really 'need' Chandler especially when you're considering he may very well be a bench player in Minnesota. A potential franchise player in exchange for an average starter or bench player is a no-go.
  14. I'm not in favor of this at all. I couldn't stand him two years ago. Chris Paul would sit, Pargo would come in, and all of the sudden we quit running any kind of offense and just played that Cleveland offense where everyone just watches LeBron except we had Pargo running the show. Dude takes an incredible amount of low percentage shots and he's suppose to be a point guard. Aside from that, what did Pargo offer to us at the time? He spelled CP3 and provided scoring off of the bench. Who did we draft? A true point guard to spell CP3 and one of the best scorers on the draft board. Please don't sign Pargo and get in the way of their development.
  15. So true. How quickly David West is aging is quite depressing.
  16. I'll be a senior in high school next year. I'm looking at LSU, Baylor, Mississippi State, and Southeastern (LA). I might be going on campus tours next week to Baylor and MSU, not sure yet. Problem is, I haven't a clue what I'm going to major in.
  17. Short and sweet: disrespectful people and arrogant people.
  18. I don't know if he's considered a 'freshman rapper' or not, but I'm starting to like Cashis a whole lot. I think he's from Shady Records or something like that. Just heard of him a day or two ago and listened to several of his songs. Loved 'em.
  19. Yeah, I was aggravated at first that we passed on Young. Problem is, he plays the same position as Julian and he has a hard enough time trying to get PT as it is, so I didn't think that'd work out. On the other hand, Blair can contribute immediate rebounding, but I wouldn't have liked picking him strictly for his knees. I know his coach said Blair had never missed a practice or a game because of his knees, but it's just too much of a risk, IMO, considering we have an oft-injured team as it is. I sure hope we can deal Daniels and his contract this off-season. That would be HUGE. I think we might be pursuing some deal involving him considering the pick of Collison and the FO's comments that Pargo is still an option.
  20. Well Shaq has a new official nickname. I don't know if that's what you guys are looking for. It's 'Witness Protection'. They already have shirts for him and everything. http://cgi.ebay.com/Shaquille-O%27Neal-Witness-Protection-T-Shirt,-Large_W0QQitemZ220442572172QQcmdZViewItemQQimsxZ20090626?IMSfp=TL090626186006r17984
  21. 1) Hornets 2) Bulls 3) T-Wolves / Thunder
  22. Yeah, I heard it a few days ago and have been listening to it ever since. Outstanding song, a wonderful tribute, and touching lyrics. One of the best songs this year.
  23. I'd like to see Chris Johnson from LSU get a shot somewhere. I think he could possibly be something similar to that Hollins guy on the Mavs as a decent contributor off of the bench with his athleticism and length in the post.
