  1. Firing Frank easily. The RJ trade is probably our only other significantly bad move, but it was good in terms of what we were aiming to do, getting cap space. The firing accomplished nothing, and our defense is also a problem now rather than one of the few things we could be proud of.
  2. Actually, your right. He never did, I don't know why I thought he did. But A-Rod, Damon, and Bruney all wear them.
  3. Well Toronto's defense hasn't been so great, so while our slumping defense may struggle against their great offense, maybe we can have some spark in our offense to stay in the game.
  4. Cory Booker, Newark mayor, said he's confident the Nets will play at the Prudential Center, though he didn't say why he still thinks it will happen despite the collapse.
  5. Probably, haha. I don't see why not, A-Rod still does frequently and Mussina always did.
  6. The Yankees are reportedly closing in on a 1-year $5.5M deal with Nick Johnson.
  7. Talks between the Yanks and Damon have stopped because Boras is demanding $13M and 3 years minimum. One of New York's backup options is Nick Johnson.
  8. Quite random, but I remember that several years ago, the Nets hosted the Bucks during a blizzard, so few people showed up to the game, and they announced on the PA that everyone in the upper level could come down and sit in the lower level. A couple seasons later (I think it was last season), the same exact thing happened when we hosted Milwaukee. Speaking of Milwaukee coincidences, even though this is even more random, Prince Fielder, the Brewers 1B, (yes, this guy) hit an inside the park homerun on the same exact day of the year in consecutive years. Milwaukee and their coincidences .
  9. Lopez had a nice second half, but our backcourt didn't shoot well, and once again, we had a poor defensive game. We're going to Toronto next, and for the first time in years, there won't be so much booing.
  10. I don't know whether any other teams use the same plan, but the Nets put a couple players on Kobe, which has often worked in the past. Same story with Howard, but he is able to draw fouls a lot of times that way.
  11. I hope Lopez doesn't cool off again like he did yesterday. He got off to a great start in the first quarter but only knocked down two FT's in the second.
  12. McGrady knocked down a 3 and grabbed 3 rebounds in about 7 minutes. Houston shot over 50% from the field in the game, though they struggled from beyond the arc. Big games for Brooks and Scola, and another great performance by Landry off the bench. Nice job by Houston despite the Ariza suspension.
  13. LeBron wasn't much better. You can't tell right off the bat whether that was intentional or not, and LeBron just pins Harris against the base of the hoop.
  14. No CDR tonight, and he may be out until next Wednesday, the same day Yi is scheduled to return after getting his stitches removed.
  15. Well the Yankees won't be going after Mike Cameron because Boston signed him to a two-year deal. The Yankees will probably keep going after DeRosa, though.
  16. Matsui reportedly talking to Angels MLB.com
  17. http://i47.tinypic.com/33e4pck.jpg We're at the start of the 2010 season! MLB.com
  18. Things got interesting after Denver's 16 unanswered points, but Indianapolis managed to drain down the clock and end the Broncos' run. First time in Manning's career that he throws three picks and still wins the game. Tough game. Orton threw a pick in the red zone, Denver failed on all three fourth down conversion attempts, and they failed on the two-point conversion attempt that would have gotten them to within 3.
  19. Most points we've allowed since we played that 2OT game against Phoenix and lost 151-147. Frank really was making a difference on defense because we've allowed 100+ points in 6 of our last 7.
  20. Harris has had health issues for about two years, and he hasn't been so sharp up to this point this season. He may pick it up and return to the all-star player he was last year, but if he doesn't, the Nets could very well trade him away. There were rumors about us dealing him this past season.
  21. I know it's not going to be easy, but if the fans don't vote him in, the coaches should. The Nets' record probably has an effect on him being sixth and not second.
  22. So we do have Dooling and Simmons available for today, but now CDR and Battie are both out.
