Feigan: If Nene is plan A, what is plan B?
Dash replied to Dash's topic in Houston Rockets Team Forum
And it begins! -
With all the talk about Marc Gasol, Nene, DeAndre Jordan and Tyson Chandler I felt going in that Chuck wasn't going to garner much attention until those 4 were off the board. If the Celtics can swoop in and snatch Chuck Hayes while all eyes are elsewhere, it would be a great move for them. One thing about Hayes though, he won't be as cheap as everyone seems to think he will be. The Rockets value Hayes a lot and he's coming off his best season yet so the Celtics might have to go a bit higher than $3 million per year (I'm guessing that is about what they were hoping for), but they should definitely go for it. Chuck would be GREAT fit in Boston.

Awesome, I wasn't expecting any negotiations to take place at all till the weekend. -
http://blog.chron.com/nba/2011/11/if-nene-is-the-rockets-plan-a-whats-plan-b-they-likely-will-trade-for-it/ Rockets fans have been saying it since May, sign Nene or there the Rockets could once again be heading into the season without a 6'9 or taller center. The only other option is DeAndre Jordan but whether the Rockets have a chance at him depends how much the Clippers are willing him and that may require Houston to overpay unless they workout a sign and trade somehow. Like Feigan suggests, a trade is probably the most realistic way we're going to get a quality center. The Rockets were treating the day before the lockout as a trade deadline and were working the phones though no deal came to fruition...yet. Its possible that the Rockets have worked out the framework of a few possible trade options, but we'll have to way and see for that.

Nene wants out of Denver ; 6 teams in the mix
Dash replied to Dash's topic in Denver Nuggets Team Forum
According to Nene the lack of respect he got from management is a big reason he's set on leaving. Read more: http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/216844/Nene_Could_Leave_Nuggets_Due_To_Lack_Of_Respect#ixzz1f8r8RIVe -
Besiktas Retires Deron Williams' Jersey
Dash replied to Teletopez's topic in Brooklyn Nets Team Forum
Wow the support he gathered in just 2 months is pretty insane. -
I would have preferred Garcia (he was the favorite going into this workout) but when it comes to quarterbacks Kubiak knows his stuff so if the Texans signed Delhomme its only because they feel he is the better fit and he outplayed Garcia plain and simple.

Portland Close to Waiving Brandon Roy
Dash replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in Portland Trail Blazers Team Forum
I get that a sucks to lose him but his contract could hold your team back for years, better to get rid of him now and use the flexibility to add new players. -
And we're probably going to have a rough start again this year. McHale and his staff will do fine but lets not forget that we did just lose a top 3 NBA coach, and although we're keeping much of the system we're still going into a season under a new and inexperienced head coach who only has about 2 weeks to get this team clicking. If we can get DeAndre Jordan or Nene, I think we got a real good shot at making the playoffs though.

1. The Rockets can go one or two directions here, (1) sign a center. Nene, Tyson Chandler, DeAndre Jordan, and Marc Gasol are all available and we have the cap space (Jordan is the most realistic). Or (2) blow this shit up. 2. I think we got a legitimate shot this year, a couple of West teams did get worse but there are some young teams getting better (Warriors). Chances are that we'll be picking at the 14th slot again in June 28. Really depends if we can finally get a center over 6'7. 3. Parsons will likely spend most of the season in the D-League, Motiejunas probably won't sign here although he does have an opt-out clause, and I'm expecting Morris to get himself into the rotation quickly. I think Morris will come off the bench for a decent 8 points and 4-5 rebound season. 4. All eyes are going to be on our 2009 draft picks, Thabeet/Williams/Flynn all have the potential to be good players but its a matter of getting there. I think Patterson is the easy pick here, very solid last season and looks like he can be a future starting PF. 5. If I were McHale, I'd try to get the '09 picks (I mean we're paying Thabeet $5+ million, just play him dammit) and our rookies some playing time. We're going to try to win as many games as possible but its clear that this is also a developmental year.
-
What we do every year, win as many games as possible, fall short of the playoffs, and draft at #14 again. Worst case scenario is we make the playoffs, get owned, and then lose our pick to the Nets.
-
So Howard Beck confirmed yesterday that you can't amnesty cut a player you traded for, makes this deal a lot worse for Houston but I can still see them going through with this if they can get back the Bobcats pick, and in return ship Chicago one of our forwards (Budinger?) along with Scola. Despite contracts, on paper Boozer/Martin is a more attractive supporting cast than Martin/Scola if Houston is looking to entice Dwight Howard, who is apparently best friends with Carlos Boozer and Courtney Lee, and the Rockets can use the Bobcats pick as a safety blanket although we probably won't get it for the next 2-3 years.

Clippers Want Dwight Howard
Dash replied to magicbalala245's topic in Los Angeles Clippers Team Forum
They might have to settle for Paul, that is if they can pry him away from New York. Read more: http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/216815/Clippers_Celtics_Will_Pursue_Dwight_Howard#ixzz1f7VAV3Wv -
http://ken-berger.blogs.cbssports.com/mcc/blogs/entry/11838893/33584531 Houston doesn't HAVE to work out a sign and trade since they could potentially have $8.5 million in cap space but it would depend on just how much Nene wants. I can't see the Nuggets working out a sign and trade with either one of Dallas or Miami, the Heat don't have many attractive pieces left for a rebuilding team (the only incentive would be to ship him out East but if they're convinced Nene will sign with a team with cap space like the Nets etc they might as well try to get something small in return) and I'm not even sure why Dallas is interested when they can just resign Tyson Chandler (backup plan in case Chandler wants too much?).

Good we need someone with experience rather than a scrub like Brodie Croyle.

I can't find the link but I remember passing over a tweet that Minnesota/Adelman would be interested in Roy. -
