  1. Any team that wants to get Dwight will probably have to take back one of their ugly contracts (Arenas or Hedo). If the Magic could move one of them and get back some youth and picks then I think they'll pull the trigger. We'll probably get a better idea of who the front runners are later in the summer, but right now the top two have to be the Lakers and Nets.
  2. I think he might be bitter about the Rockets passing up on him during the draft a couple years ago, but that Chron article a while back pretty much confirmed for me that he will absolutely be considering the Rockets as a destination. We can offer our entire cap space, which is roughly $7.5 million, and I still doubt that the Clippers wouldn't match.

  4. Sam Amick mock draft 3.0 Do not want. Markieff isn't a a bad prospect but how many more power forwards do we honestly need? He doesn't even have the size to play some time at center so I don't see any reason for the Rockets take him. Singleton is someone I wouldn't mind taking as I've said several times in this thread, Nikola Vucevic has been popping up a lot more lately. He's got a big body and an all-around set of skills and apparently has been improving on his jump shot since the combine. I'm intrigued by Darius Morris, sound point guard skill-set but the fact that he's 6'5 is what makes him stand out. The Rockets love adding high character players to their locker room and they could use a cheap 3rd string point guard. I would have taken Tyler Honeycutt here but surprisingly Amick doesn't have him going in the first round. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/sam_amick/06/14/mock.draft.3/index.html?sct=nba_t11_a1
  5. Video of Daryl Morey scouting Biyombo (comes around the 40-45 second mark): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rDqJGJwAU0M&feature=player_embedded#at=103 Awful workout for Biyombo but any team that is going to draft him would only be doing so for his potential on the defensive end and as a rebounder. The video is entirely of Biyombo posting up, taking hook shots etc. Morey provides "commentary" as he watches Motiejunas along with Draftexpress' Jonathan Givony. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F0JdLMTqgao&feature=player_embedded Another awful workout but word from Draftexpress is that Motiejunas was in the weight room right before this, and yesterday had another workout and left a much stronger impression. By the way, did anyone that watch the video catch this? Givony: So, people were speculation that Biyombo tanked his workout to get drafted lower. Maybe they got some more of the same here. Morey: It's all part of the plan. Although this should be taken with a grain of salt as Morey was most likely being sarcastic, I couldn't help but find it interesting because I'm sure the Rockets would love to come out of draft night with either center and for that to happen their stocks would either have to drop or stay the same.
  6. Chad Ford: Kind of ridiculous how his stock has been plummeting, he could still go very high to the Pistons but now he could potentially fall out of the lottery altogether. I don't see any reason for the Rockets to pass him up at #14 unless either another top rated prospects falls to them, or they believe they will able to somehow snatch Biyombo later in the draft. And the Rockets own both the 14th and 23rd picks, is it any coincidence that several sources believe he'll be going between those two picks? I've been on Motiejunas bandwagon for over 2 years now, felt we should have taken him last year before he pulled out. With the same pick the following year, I still would love to have Motiejunas on the Rockets...plenty of potential, I can see where the Bargnani comparisons come from but I firmly believe that a top notch developing organization like the Rockets could squeeze a bit from that from him. If both Motiejunas and Biyombo are on the board, I think I'll go with Biyombo because we've been searching for an interior defender/shotblocker with size for ages. Jordan Hamilton is still the wild card on my board, I wouldn't be surprised at all to see the Rockets shock Red Nation by taking a small forward especially if they believe one of Biyombo/Motiejunas are obtainable with the 23rd pick.
  7. What? Pierce was a premiere wing defender in the early years of the big three and did you miss the 2008/2010 Finals? Ray Allen did a spectacular job on Kobe.
  8. From a talent perspective? Sure, but in terms of fit and defensive capabilities the Celtics were the ideal big three. Not to mention the Celtics won the championship as their first season as a group, and were starting two very young players (tons of questions about Rondo at that time) and their bench consisted of James Posey and a bunch of guys signed for the minimum and smaller deals (kind of like the Heat).
  9. This is the problem with having 3 ball dominant stars, there is only so many touches Bosh could get with 2 of the top 2-3 superstars/egos in the league. Sure a few more plays with Bosh posting could help but as long as he's a Miami Heat, I don't he'll ever be used to his full capabilities. Trading Bosh for a starting quality center and point guard would make a lot of sense. It fills two needs and opens up some wiggle room, but I would like to see if there are any changes to how he's implemented in the offense next season first. Agreed. Lets not forget that we're only one year into the big three experiment. The Heat exceeded my expectations by making the finals so I don't see much reason to trade Lebron (or any of the big three for that matter) just yet.
  10. I'm talking shit? If it makes you feel any better you can post a bunch of Rockets shit. I wouldn't care either way because I acknowledged that we sucked months ago.
  11. Challenge accepted. http://badref.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/07/Lebron-Wizzard-oz.jpg
  12. ^LOL. For those that couldn't make out the shirt: HEY LEBRON! HOWS MY DIRK TASTE
  13. If Zach can remain a 20/10 guy for the next 3 years and lead this team past the first round again, which are fair assumptions, then I could see his jersey on the rafters when its all said and done.
  14. I'm basically repeating what Real said but... If you want to see where you could go in a relationship with her/have sex then go for it, but if you like her enough to go deeper (long term relationship etc) then keep her as a friend and stash her away for a while.

  16. Both appeared to have changed their minds. Didn't expect Mirotic to come over to the States any time soon anyways, will gladly take someone of his talent level at #23. Bertans is the guy that will be coming over sooner than Mirotic, Draftexpress has it many times that he doesn't care where he gets picked as long as he is taken by a well known youth developing team. It makes sense from an international prospect's perspective, why care where you get picked when you're going to be in Europe for 1-2 more years and can demand a bigger contract after that time? This is assuming that Bertans isn't going to be coming over for the upcoming season (if there is one).
  17. http://www.niubball.com/2011/06/yao-ming-if-my-ankle-cant-recover-this-summer-ill-retire/ Well...at least he is being straight with us. And does China honestly expect Yao to participate in the tournament if he's healthy? His time with the national team pretty much killed his career, and he said that he was done playing for them after the Beijing Olympics.
  18. The Heat dominated the East and were only 2 wins short of the championship. No he shouldn't be fired.
  19. Congrats guys, happy to see Dirk and Kidd finally get their rings after coming up short for so many years. Everyone on the roster was chipping in (Mahinmi and Cardinal too), well deserved for a championship team.
