It makes you wonder if Houston is one of the destinations that Nogueira desires to end up.
  3. The Rockets parted with Adelman only because they felt it was time to move on and rebuild completely. Rick wanted to continue competing and that is where the two parties began to slowly split apart. McHale is by FAR from one of the worst NBA coaches. He actually did pretty well with the Minnesota squads in 2005 and 2008, honestly he only gets a bad rap because of his shortcomings as a general manager. McHale is a great motivator and got very good reviews from his players in Minnesota. Also McHale is one of the best post up players in NBA history and would almost certainly be a big help to the development of Patrick Patterson, Thabeet, Hill and what other big man the Rockets draft/sign. Basically Houston is looking to rebuild and McHale is probably one of the best persons for that job. As long term coach, I don't know if he'll last here but apparently the true heir to Rick Adelman is Chris Finch.

If that is true then its no surprise that the Cavs have Valanciunas higher on their board.
  5. During a online chat, Johnathan Givony mentioned that if Rubio were in this year's draft class that he would go in the #10-#20 pick range. Very surprised that he had him going that low especially when you consider how weak this year's class is. It does say a lot about how disappointing Rubio has been this season but he hasn't been so bad (at least from the Real Madrid vs Barcelona games I watched) that he should fall behind Kemba Walker. Kahn was rumored to be thinking that Ricky Rubio was a better prospect than Kyrie Irving and that was the motivation behind the Timberwolves potentially trading the #1 pick if they did win the lottery.

Regardless, Ferry worked hard during his tenure in Cleveland would and would, at the very least, be a nice addition to the Portland front office even if he doesn't have much say.

  8. First movie was decent but judging from reviews and trailers, this one doesn't look so good. Guess I'll pass.
  9. 18% of his salary for the ring? I can only imagine how much the wedding is going to cost him.
  10. Oh please, George has all the talent and tools to become an all-star one day. Whether he actually reaches that status, I don't know but the potential is definitely there. Not only that but they are also taking on Barbosa's $7.1 million contract. Very raw deal for Memphis.

  12. Paul George is a good return value for Rudy Gay but I'm assuming the Grizzlies are looking to compete next season, so moving Gay for him doesn't make all that much sense. It doesn't help that they also have to give up Xavier Henry and take on two contracts. Its worse for the Pacers though, they are giving up the main piece and not even getting back Gay. They wanted him back when it would only cost Josh McRoberts and a 2nd round draft pick. Mayo has improved since but still doesn't warrant moving George.
  13. Pacers get raped in that deal, Mayo and Henry are nice young players but they don't have the all-star potential George does. Pretty sure Colangelo is the gm that is trying to orchestrate the deal but there is no way its going to happen as currently constructed.
  14. http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news?slug=aw-wojnarowski-kevin_mchale_houston_rockets_coach_owner052411&print=1 Take a look at the bolded part. Looks like the Rockets aren't willing to commit to McHale (or any other coach) long term and probably are using him to groom Finch so he can take over in a few years. I wonder if the fact that the Rockets will keep him a a temporary coach will cause him to back out, but then again if he impresses the front office enough in the next 2 years then he could very well be here for the long haul. That said, the Rockets are very, very high on Chris Finch. So much that he was part of the reason that Adelman was forced out. Anyways, there is still a good chance that Casey will be the Rockets head coach. It all comes down to this interview with Les tomorrow.
  15. Bulls. The Thunder going back to Dallas down 1-3 while 2 of the 3 next games (if they can survive that long) for the Bulls are at home.

  18. Wait what? David Aldridge was just reporting that the coaching search was down to Brown and Adelman.

  20. Rose was definitely getting exhausted by overtime, I don't see how anyone can deny that but the thing is that he was playing a pretty poor game before regulation even ended.
  21. Mike Miller also gave Miami a huge boost. It was good to see him finally be a factor again.
  22. No one is saying that the Bulls would be better off without Rose, he's the reason that they are even in the ECF in the first round. However, when you are shooting 8-27 with a 6-9 monster in your face...it is time to pass the ball and look elsewhere for some offense instead of doing the same step-back move every other play.
  23. Right because Rose's 8-27 shooting was SO much better.
  24. To be fair to Rose he did play a 50 minute game.
