  1. I've really warmed up to Kevin McHale the past few days. He's not a great coach but he's not terrible either and is one of the more underrated coaches out there (mainly due to his general manager stint). The thing that stuck out to me is that he's a player's coach and the players apparently loved him in Minnesota. The Rockets are in a rebuilding era and someone who can squeeze the most out of their young players is what we're looking for. Rick Adelman did the same thing but McHale would be playing the young guns and trying to develop them. The fact that McHale was once one of the premiere post players in the NBA is a major plus to the development of our bigs. Kevin McHale has made some awful draft picks but the man knows big men and made a few great picks with Kevin Garnett, Kevin Love and Rasho Nesterović. When you consider that one of the Rockets most important objectives this offseason is to draft/sign a center, McHale only makes more sense.
  2. Don't think I'm going to be watching especially with how predictable the main events look.

  4. AJ was so bad in last week's episode (basically the new Skidmarks with the trainers) and then he injured Christina. Dude is done.
  5. The beginning was kind of slow and the Jack-Angelica romance was forced onto you, but it picks up and ends on a strong note. I guess its because I went in with low expectations but I thought it was money well spent. The third Pirates was what was disappointing. What I couldn't understand was the point of the mermaid and Philips.
  6. Who watched it? Decent movie although I felt like they should have ended it after 3.
  7. I wouldn't mind McHale. He's a smart guy that could further develop our young bigs (Hill, Patterson and Thabeet). Just don't let him be anything more than a coach.
  8. This. My parents mostly would lecture me for 10-15 minutes and then let me go.
  9. I'm going to be at the mall. Should be fun.
  10. Ken Berger (CBS) reports that Casey is the favorite.
  11. I don't understand why Kanter blew off the Raptors, it would take Cleveland to pass up on him but Toronto is a plausible destination. FWIW Draftexpress has Kanter going 8th.
  12. Bucks also talking to Jimmer Fredette and Tristan Thompson. http://www.journaltimes.com/sports/article_4d9ebc94-828b-11e0-bb3e-001cc4c002e0.html
  13. Surprise, surprise the Rockets are showing interest in another player that plays a position we're currently stacked on. http://www.journaltimes.com/sports/article_4d9ebc94-828b-11e0-bb3e-001cc4c002e0.html
  14. Well if the Rockets are said to be interested in Kemba Walker, they might be targeting the 4th pick owned the Cavaliers. The Rockets could easily put together a decent package to move up there. Question is, what about Kyle Lowry and Goran Dragic? Just how high are they on Walker? I don't see the point of moving up for him unless Morey views him as a franchise point guard. No point in drafting Kawhi Leonard either, they could stay pat and draft a similar player in Chris Singleton at 14. Valanciunas and Biyombo make the most sense. Lol we're not moving up for Jimmer and honestly I'm not that big of a fan of picking him at 14 either.
  15. If the Bucks really want a shooting guard in this draft then Alec Burks is there man. There is such a huge gap between Burks and the rest of the 2 guards but like Real, I worry about his shot selection. I'm not too fond of having two chuckers in the backcourt but honestly there isn't anyone much better in the draft so might as well take a chance on him.
  16. http://twitter.com/#!/GeryWoelfel/status/71253623878856706 Absolutely no way Kemba would last till the 14th pick, Rockets will have to move up if they really want him but I hope that doesn't mean losing Lowry.
  17. Well looks like I was wrong about Kemba. http://twitter.com/#!/GeryWoelfel/status/71253623878856706
  18. If the Rockets take Jimmer it will be at the 14th pick, Morey has been rumored to be high on him earlier in the season but that was never confirmed. Kemba Walker seems decent but I don't see why we would trade Lowry to get him, which makes me believe Scola is the player the Rockets are going to try to move for the Kings pick. Morey must be trying to move up for Jonas Valanciunas or Bismack Biyombo.
  19. Rockets management has repeatedly expressed a desire to resign Yao. Its a matter of whether Yao wants to stay in Houston for another couple of years, which apparently he does. Can't disagree with you there but this time around Yao will likely be playing 15-20 minutes. Because the only young player Yao will be taking minutes away from would be Hasheem Thabeet. I'm not ready to say that its over, with Yao the Rockets have a legitimate shot at winning every year. Granted every year up until now has ended in failure but Yao is the only superstar we have, and I'm not big on depending on luck in the lottery. Minnesota has been the bottom 5 for the past 4 years and never moved up. I do not want to end up like them. Its not a fair comparison. Dwight has had 5 straight healthy seasons unlike Yao, who spends 95% of his time getting healthy and then getting in shape. I still think Yao could have been the better offensive player of the two but his development stopped somewhere between 2006-2007. Anyways once Dwight gets his championship ring, he better send one to Hakeem.
  20. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2011/writers/sam_amick/05/19/predraft.camp.day1/index.html#ixzz1MoLThG7N Only impactful veterans that still have a contract with us are Luis Scola and Kevin Martin. Considering that they just gave us Martin about a year ago, I'm guessing that they would prefer Luis Scola and pair him up with Cousins up front. They might want Kyle Lowry too but I don't see the point of moving him for the 7th unless the Rockets are truly high on Jimmer Fredette or Brandon Knight.
  21. Well I guess it was about time I started one. I'll try to keep it as updated as I can. To kick it off, here are a few mocks. From DraftExpress.com http://www.draftexpress.com/article/Post-NBA-Draft-Lottery-Analysis-The-Implications-3706/#ixzz1MsDV97DF http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/news;_ylt=AmRvhsXKU0zgvj67p9Os2LK8vLYF?slug=ycn-8493201 Read more: http://basketball.realgm.com/article/213751/2011_NBA_Mock_Draft_(Post_Lottery_Edition)#ixzz1MsGDoCEJ Personally I'd like to see us come out with Donatas Motiejunas, he's got the potential to become a very good NBA player and would do well with Yao Ming/Caroll Dawson as mentors. If he lasts past the top 10 then the Jazz have been said to be very interested in him and will certainly take him at #12. I wonder if we could move up somewhere in the #9-#11 pick range by packaging the 14th and 23rd picks. If we stay where we are then I would like to pick up Chris Singleton. Givony seems to like Tobias Harris a lot so I guess I wouldn't mind him either. For the 23rd pick, Lucas Nogueira and Tyler Honeycutt. Two very raw players with potential.
  22. Gutsy move by Scott Brooks to go to his bench for the 4th quarter and it paid off. Great win for Oklahoma City.
  23. I don't see the point of banning it. The only time anyone ever brings cupcakes to school is for parties and birthdays, and even then students probably only eat one.
