Really, really, really nice to see Brown working so hard on his game. Felton said that in his time with him in Charlotte, he feels Brown could be a really special player. If he can provide some spark for us off the bench this year, it would be huge. Athletic as hell and a decent defender, if he can get a shot down he'd be good to go.

Michael Redd will be resuming his pro career this season but, for the first time since entering the NBA in 2000, it won't be with the Bucks.

Redd, an unrestricted free agent, is a cinch to join another team when the signing period begins Dec. 9. Redd, who has had two major knee surgeries in recent years, is drawing keen interest from a slew of teams, including some NBA-title contenders.

According to some league officials, Chicago, Boston, New York and Miami all have Redd on their radar.

The Knicks also were hunting for assets Wednesday in the hopes of becoming a viable landing spot for Chris Paul in a trade. Along with the Nets, Clippers, Bulls, Heat and Spurs, the Knicks also expressed interest in Caron Butler -- but New York is going to be extremely careful not to eat into cap space next summer in the event Paul gets to free agency.

Apparently Chris Sheridan thinks that Jerome Jordan can have a pretty solid impact on the Knicks if he makes the team coming over from his stint in Slovenia. I would love love love love love to have a competent center fall into our laps so easily, and he's a pretty athletic 7+ footer. Fingers crossed!

NEW YORK — What if I told you there is an incoming NBA rookie currently playing in Slovenia who absolutely schooled Jonas Valanciunas a couple weeks ago in a EuroCup game (20 points and 8 rebounds to Valanciunas’ 5 points and 8 rebounds).

He is the same guy who had 11 points, 9 rebounds, 3 assists and 2 blocks last night against BC Akovmas of Ukraine.

He is also the same guy who was compared to Antonio Davis last season by the Knicks’ then-president, Donnie Walsh.

The New York Knicks need a center to other than Ronny Turiaf, who currently is the only NBA-ready pivot on their roster. But the Knicks also own the rights to Jerome Jordan, the 44th overall pick of the 2010 draft whose rights were purchased from the Milwaukee Bucks for $1 million.

Jordan spent Jordan last season with KK Hemofarm of the Adriatic League in Serbia, averaging 15 minutes per game in the domestic league and shooting 73.5 percent from the field (averaging 7.8 points), while also appearing in four Eurocup games and shooting 68.8 percent, averaging 8.5 points in just under 12 minutes per game.

Sry for the double post but I had to say man I miss basketball so much more. In recent years, I def watched as many Knick games as I can. But let's be honest, I was never hyped for the season. It was always the same old Knicks.

Now, at least the Knicks will be dramatic and entertaining, even if it doesn't mean winning a championship.

Knicks targeting Ajinca? Marc Berman of the Post:

The Knicks continue beating the bushes for a big man and have placed Toronto’s young 7-2 French center Alexis Ajinca among their targets.

Ajinca — who began last season with Dallas, even starting two games — is strictly a reserve and still needs to work on his body with his skinny build. But if Toronto passes, the Knicks could take a flyer on Ajinca with a one-year deal for a minimum-range salary.

It isn’t surprising Mike D’Antoni’s Knicks have interest in Ajinca because of his European offensive style, as he can shoot the 3-pointer. But he also can rebound and can be an athletic shot-blocker. He’s only 23 and the Knicks need to stockpile size.

J.J. Barea: Ball in Mavs' court

The Dallas Mavericks have made their interest in bringing back spark plug J.J. Barea known, but so have several other big hitters.

The Miami Heat, who open the regular season in Dallas on Christmas Day, the Los Angeles Lakers, New York Knicks, and Sacramento Kings have all made contact with Barea's agent, Dan Fegan, a source close to the situation confirmed Friday.

http://espn.go.com/blog/dallas/mavericks/post/_/id/4681435/j-j-barea-ball-in-mavs-court

“I always said the Knicks would be a great second option. I love the city. I love the way they're playing now, their style of play with D'Antoni, the players over there,” said Barea, who was in Punta Cana to support slugger David Ortiz’s annual charity golf tournament. “We’ll see. I know Carmelo more than Amar’e. I think after (D’Antoni became coach), I said, ‘That would be a great fit for me.’”
