Wow.

David Aldridge ‏@daldridgetnt

Don't have it down to the dollar, but new deals for Deron, Wallace, Lopez, Hump, Watson, Stack, plus JJ contract, in neighborhood of..$325M.

Double wow.

Maybe a little over-priced, but I'm a big Humphries fan. Awesome rebounder, decent defender, and last year he showed he has a pretty damn good face-up game. He definitely is a huge addition to a really strong starting 5.

The lowest annual salary among our starters is Crash at $10 M.

Smart move by Billy.

It is always horrible when teams outbid themselves. Oh well, not like this is crippling, it is only 2 years. He is serviceable, but holy shit man, this is crazy. I guess if you're gonna pay Wallace 10M, Lopez 15M, you just get to the point you say oh [expletive] it.

Billy King's got the easiest job in the NBA. Big market that superstars want to play in despite management's incompetence, and an owner who doesn't give a [expletive] how much money you spend.

They didn't really outbid themselves as he was looking for a long-term deal. This is actually one of the better signings for the Nets as they get a 10 rebound per night guy on a two-year deal.

There's actually some good in this, for those of you who don't think he's worth that amount of money: it's a two-year deal, and teams like Cleveland and Charlotte were having trouble getting him to accept anything less than three years.

So, if Howard is SOMEHOW on the Magic in February, and Brooklyn decides to re-visit those talks for Dwight, it won't be as hard moving Humphries.

The job is certainly easier when you have money and are in a big market, but King and Marks still deserve credit for a lot of what they've done, both before and after this Brooklyn stage. Before, they made the Deron trade, which basically saved the franchise, and drafted MarShon Brooks. Afterwards, they traded for JJ at the right time to keep Deron from going to Dallas, they put themselves in position to trade for Dwight after landing JJ, which no one saw coming, and they've done a nice job with bringing on overseas talent.

Also, about Humphries, the Nets aren't just outbidding themselves. He was originally looking for three to four years, but the Nets kept it to two and raised the annual value. Makes for a nice expiring next year.

I like this signing for the Nets...Humphries is a good you can win with. Solid defensively, plays hard, and a damn good rebounder. Not a terrible offensive game, either.

Lord knows you need rebounding with this roster.
