Call of the Weekend: Brandon Knight’s expert Twitter response, post-lob

When DeAndre Jordan threw down a massive alley-oop flush on Detroit Pistons guard Brandon Knight on Sunday evening, the reaction was swift, and Knight was the butt of it all. The play was packaged in video clips, Vine’d, and tweeted dozens of times before the second half of the game even started, and it’s likely that hundreds of people took to Twitter to look up Knight’s handle and send him a dig or 2932.

So what would be Knight’s first response, on the social media site, after more than two weeks of not registering any updates on his Twitter account? The response would be the perfect one, of course, and our (great) Call of the Weekend:

Props to Knight for that tweet!

Lawrence Frank questions why DeAndre Jordan's dunk over Brandon Knight was glorified

"Brandon has the right spirit about it but it's just crazy," Frank said.  "I think it just speaks more about our basketball culture at times, and the things we make a big deal out of."

"At least Brandon has the courage to put himself out there to make a play," Frank said.  "And the fact that people laugh about it and joke about it, I don't know.  There's a whole lot more things to glamorize in our sport than something like that.

"I don't even understand how that's, like, a story, you know?  And you read about how it's trending on Twitter?  Talk about Miami winning 22 games in a row, or talk about something else.  But a dunk?  Who cares?"

DeAndre Jordan Dunk Over Brandon Knight Joins Shawn Kemp's 'Lister Blister' Among Epic Posterizations

Moments after forcing the smaller Pistons' guard to co-star in his latest poster, the Clippers' center had an almost sheepish Oops-I-didn't-mean-to-debacle-that-harmless-young-man-just-then-in-front-of-all-these-nice-people expression on his face as he walked toward the far end of the court to collect himself before his trip to the free throw line.  (...) All told, this posterization was far more collegial than what Shawn Kemp visited upon Alton Lister during the 1992 NBA Playoffs. In Game 4 of the Western Conference Quarterfinals, Lister, a 7-footer who spent 16 seasons in the NBA and even picked up a few MVP votes early in his career, was on the receiving end of the signature slam thrown down by the Seattle Supersonics' dynamic dunker. Dubbed the "Lister Blister," the slam not only displayed Kemp's combination of speed and power but put his flair -- that cuff -- and fury -- that point -- on full display. After toppling Lister en route to the rim, Kemp landed and pointed at him as he lay on the floor beyond the baseline.

How does DeAndre Jordan "Knighting" Brandon Knight rank? Which is the most devastating? The most overlooked? Let us know which we're missing in the comments section.
