The New Orleans Hornets have responded to their 3-6 start by making the first coaching change of the young NBA season, firing Byron Scott on Thursday, according to NBA coaching sources.

Sources said the Hornets made the decision to dismiss Scott following New Orleans' 124-104 loss in Phoenix on Wednesday night and will formally announce the move later Thursday.

Same thing with New Jersey a few years ago happend. It's the teams fault not the coaches, Byron Scott is a good coach.

No Scott's problem was that he was trying to play a half court game with a team that is best suited to run.

NOH's new coach will be the general manager Jeff Bower btw.

Scott will be replaced by general manager Jeff Bower, with Tim Floyd as his top assistant, the team said. Floyd formerly coached the Hornets and the Chicago Bulls in the NBA and most recently at USC.

Team owner George Shinn thanked Scott for his service, but said Bower "knows this team better than anyone" and gives the Hornets "our best opportunity to reach our goals this season."

I woulda let him finish the season out first. IMO they shouldn't have traded Chandler for Okafor.. He fit in better with the offense and Okafor and West don't really compliment each other at all. They had a good team to build around, but butchered it with that move. Maybe a new coach will do them some good though.. Just let CP3 run the floor and see what he can do with a faster pace.

Not going to lie, every single time I watched the Hornets this season so far, they looked very poor out there. Who knows maybe it was CP3's call, like it was with Jason Kidd.

Scott is a lazy coach and every Nets fan saw this a mile away.

Preach...
