Kobe Breaks Index Finger, Shooting Hand
Real Deal replied to Real Deal's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
The thing that bugs me is that we start our five or six game road trip. We don't play the likes of Boston or Orlando on the road yet, but Utah is 10-3 at home, Milwaukee at 8-3, and Detroit probably has a winning record at home as well. Without Kobe, that might be a struggle, because we are thin at the two. Shannon Brown will have to start, and that means we play Vujacic off the bench, and we all know how that goes. -
Depends on what you need for your team. To build around? Probably Shaq, but only because dominant centers are much more difficult to acquire in the league. Kobe is the greater player, though.

Kobe Breaks Index Finger, Shooting Hand

Would be nice if that were true, but I'm really worried right now. He actually started playing much more with his left after he got hurt. If it were the pinkie, it would be different. You don't use the pinkie when you shoot the basketball (you aren't supposed to, anyways, just part of the base, not the push-off, if that makes sense). But the index finger is most important, even with dribbling and pointing it to tell Sasha Vujacic where to go. All jokes aside, it's a bad deal. When Jordan busted his index finger up, he had to go through extensive shooting programs to redefine his jumper, and his percentages dropped below 50% all three years of the second dynasty. Bryant dislocated this same finger, but this is a fracture, so it's much worse. Dislocations need the tape. This will need a splint. -
It's based on the RPI (Relative Power Index), which is...

Just ordered it tonight, first time I've purchased a UFC PPV, so it better be sick. There were just too many good fights on the card. Diego and Penn is my fight, though. I have been pulling for Sanchez since he first started fighting, and I hope he pulls out a victory tonight. Florian and Guida will be interesting. Guida's chin is one of the best I've seen in the last few years. I wouldn't be surprised if Guida won it. Mir and Kongo are just two big ass dudes about to throw down. I'm taking Mir, but Kongo is a monster, and if Kongo starts connecting with Mir's chin, that could change everything. Mir needs to work him against the cage, get him down and make him tap. Fitch and Pierce will be fun. Johnson and Garcia is probably an underrated fight. Looks to be a pretty damn good card.

Defenses are doubling him more, teams are putting better defenders on him, or he's just missing more jumpers. One of the three.

We play East teams only twice, all West teams 3-4 times. And even then, there's the difference between teams in the conference. We may play Denver four times this year, while another West team plays them just three.

Go ahead and answer away, Matt.

Welcome back Kyle. I'll try and find Morbid Love so I can hook you two up.

I'm not sure if LeBron can play with a true scoring big. I haven't been a big fan of LeBron's game off the ball to begin with. I think he stands and waits. Wade proved he can do it with Shaq (who was better than this year's Shaq, obviously), but I'd have to question if Wade can actually facilitate the triangle offense. I think the Lakers have built the nearly-perfect team around the nearly-perfect player, with just the right offense to put them over the top. Kobe's game has been molded to make him the model triangle player, and with the debate still there as to who the best player in the league is, I can't say that you can't get any better than Kobe in this particular offense.

Hell of a combination. Tell your friend's chick to hook him up. "Hey Jana, get Jake a Handjob and some Fresh Balls this Christmas." Post the result of that conversation in here.

Bobby Lashley Signs With Strikeforce
Real Deal replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in MMA, Wrestling and Boxing Forum
Dude looks like a monster. I wonder what a match between him and Lesnar would be like, assuming Brock returns to the octagon someday. -
I'm not really sure if it's just Troy's injury causing problems. The last I've seen of him, he's not playing on offense, and the Steelers can't score. It's true that defense leads to easier offense, but there's no reason for Pittsburgh to score under seven if they have guys like Big Ben, Holmes, Ward, and a young and talented Mendenhall filling in for Parker.

A member from BTA was suspended earlier today, so he decided to try and deface their site by coming over here, adding links for them in his posts, and also an additional surprise: a picture of his naked boyfriend. We matched IP addresses and took care of it.

He guessed: Shaquille O'Neal Larry Bird Spiderman Not bad. That's a LOT of database work. Cool site. I saw this about a year ago, but I forgot all about it.

Lebron could join Clippers?
Real Deal replied to kingfish's topic in Los Angeles Clippers Team Forum
One of the two (LeBron or Wade) would be smart to go there. LeBron would play the three, obviously, with talent surrounding him. C - Kaman PF - Griffin SF - LeBron SG - Gordon PG - Davis Wade would play the point, and the Clippers would either trade Baron, or bring him off the bench (it would take quite a bit to convince him of the latter). C - Kaman PF - Griffin SF - Thornton SG - Gordon PG - Wade Both teams contend if Griffin stays healthy. I wouldn't be surprised if the Clippers snag a 3-4 seed with either of those five. But I take credit for this idea. I've been saying this since the night Griffin was drafted, so the LA Times needs to grab some new ideas. -
Honestly, that was one of the worst choke-jobs I've seen all season, so far. Jamison shot a three for no reason, Arenas can't connect on either free throw, Arenas takes a long three that he shouldn't be shooting, and Foye launches a fadeaway three with plenty of time left on the clock to find an open shooter. Plus, you don't shoot that three so early in the shot clock, anyways. You run time off if you're Washington. Flip Saunders doesn't coach defense, and Haywood is the only player who wants to defend, so you don't give the Celtics time to win the game (assuming you connect on your shot).

I'm actually quite surprised Jason Kidd never pulled it off, being the defender he is.

With that said, I'll come up with something that will give all staff members an opportunity to help, along with a few non-staff members, possibly.

OKAY, WE GET IT.
