  1. It's never called that way on the court, even if what you saw was what actually happened. He was back-pedaling anyways. Most everyone here saw it with their own eyes, so I don't know what you were looking at. It's not a charge.
  2. That's true. I just checked their cap situation. But hey, shouldn't matter, because pairing LeBron with Harris and Lopez (and probably Wall or Ed Davis), that would be more than enough to contend, and Bosh can go elsewhere.
  3. Man, we need to get Aldrich more touches down low, and Collins has to stop turning the ball over. That second half was ugly, but we get the win.
  4. As I said in the game topic, Paul dropping his 30/9/19 probably wasn't due to Billups being out, since he just blew past anyone trying to defend him to begin with (and Billups would've suffered as well). But, we'll see how this pans out. If Conley and a few others torch Denver in their next 3-4 games, maybe this hurts the Nuggets more than imagined, and maybe Lawson isn't ready yet. After all, Carter started at the point, not Lawson, in that game versus the Hornets. I don't know why.
  5. I already knew what you were saying. I'm saying most of his misses probably came when teams could actually put two or three guys on him, and he was selfish enough not to pass the ball to anyone else. He was more likely going to miss game-winners back in 2006 than he would this season, not to mention the Lakers were actually losing a lot of close games back then.
  6. GO CHAD! Man, I hope he goes through with the Henry jersey, and I wouldn't care if he caught for 300+ yards and six TD's, as long as he makes it a special moment for Henry. I think it would be AWESOME if, at the beginning of the game, before the toss, they put Palmer and Chad on the field, in the opposing endzone, and have Chad run a route, catch a pass and run the entire field for a TD, with Henry's jersey on.
  7. Yep, and a TON of those probably came during the time they didn't have a post presence in Gasol or Shaq. C - Kwame PF - Odom SF - Walton SG - Kobe PG - Smush I don't think Kobe ever passed the ball on potential game-winners after Odom airballed one, and Walton didn't even shoot another. Those were two of the worst moments I remember from that time frame, especially that Walton situation against the Knicks, and Kobe was pissed. Every game-winning situation, the opposition would push Bryant 30 feet away from the rim, double him and force him to shoot the long, long, long three. I'm surprised Phoenix didn't run him back to the three in Game 4 in 2006, when he hit that jumper over Bell and Diaw.
  8. @ Knicks (107-105) vs. Sixers (113-110) vs. Raptors (116-103) @ Heat (92-85) @ Bobcats (108-90) @ Spurs (90-83) @ Thunder (105-87) vs. Bucks (98-89) @ Wizards (104-102) @ Bulls (106-80) @ Grizzlies (110-105) Teams in bold are above 500. I tried to figure out what was happening in these games, but I can't. Home and road seems to make little difference. Boston beat three 500 teams, eight under...but they did beat a good Heat team in Miami. Boston struggles with teams that run? The Knicks get up and down the court quickly, and Philly does that as well. San Antonio has been running a little more than they usually have in the past, and even though the Spurs DOMINATED them on the glass (by 23 boards, 20-2 offensive rebounds), it was still a seven-point victory by the Celtics. Memphis runs, and Washington can get up and down the floor with versatile forwards. Ball movement could be it. It did help Philly, significantly, getting the ball into Brand quite a bit, which is the main reason they pulled out that one-point win. What about feeding the bigs? Duncan did well against them, and it was Blatche and Jamison who had big games against Boston, as well as Brand and Speights. David Lee did work on Boston, as well as Bogut and Ilyasova for Milwaukee, and Gasol and Randolph for Memphis. Are the Celtics struggling to defend opposing frontcourts?
  9. LOL, something to look forward to every game, I guess (players coming out healthy). Devin Harris could destroy Fisher, though...and I wonder what no-name from New Jersey will torch us. There's always someone. Should be a big, big game for Gasol and/or Bynum, though. Lopez isn't a good defensive player, and there isn't much size to handle those two down low.
  10. I'm not that impressed with these articles anymore. These professional writers can't write about much of anything else, it seems. We've been reading these for about 4-5 years now, along with the new stuff about LeBron. It makes you wonder if some of these guys watch more than just those two play.
  11. Very, very, very tough thing you stepped into. It's a great thing you're doing, though. I have a mentally challenged cousin that's three months younger than I am, and she does a lot with the Special Olympics, mainly basketball and bowling (I'm 110% sure she plays basketball the most). She's the reason I tried starting up "Shoot for the Stars" (and I guess I would've gotten in trouble for that, for some reason, according to some SO rep, even though it was non-profit). Just a quick tip...smile when you're coaching them, and make jokes as you're doing it. If you don't, you'll run into some of them thinking they got into trouble and made you angry, and they get pretty upset over it. There was a referee about three years ago that called someone out of bounds during my cousin's game, and the kid went nuts, started crying and threw the basketball down the court. Even the smallest things tip the scales a bit, ref or coach. Good stuff, though. Hope it's a great experience.
  12. Murphy and Rush were 1-11 from downtown...way too many threes to try and make up for Granger's production on the floor. This is fun... Memphis starters: Randolph - 26 pts Mayo - 20 pts Conley - 19 pts Gay - 18 pts Gasol - 17 pts Rest of team: 7 pts And I believe Gay was the only starter who struggled tonight (shooting-wise).
  13. Durant dominated the Pistons at the line. I'm pretty sure they said in the broadcast that he got to the line just as much as Detroit did all night long, and if that's accurate, that's almost always going to cost you a game.
  14. Brandon Jennings (55) Gilbert Arenas (45) Tony Parker (32) Danny Granger (31) LeBron James (31) Those are the only 30+ point games allowed by the Warriors this season, but I guess you need to account for the fact that they've been blown out plenty of times (despite the end score, which includes garbage time), and that means a lot of superstars sit the fourth against them. Stuckey gave them 29, Harden put up 26 with Durant's 27. Not so bad on paper, but the Warriors need to play defense. Those two HUGE games by Jennings and Arenas were big factors in those losses, especially when both games were very close until the end, and both players turned it up late in the game.
  15. Did anyone see Randolph pull an Odom earlier? He tried dribbling the ball inbounds. Greatest thing ever.
  16. I don't think having Billups would've mattered in this game in regards to slowing down CP3. Paul is too fast, and it's not like he was working in the post. He just blew by whoever he wanted, penetrated and dished, grabbed boards, and dominated this game. 30 points, 19 assists, 9 boards. I haven't seen a player do that in a long, long time.
  17. Then you're going to see a lot of douchebags soon, because everyone from LeBron and Wade, to Bosh and Carmelo, will be taking max money through their entire careers.
  18. Great win by the Cavaliers, inching closer to the top spot in the East. You win the close games, no matter if it's the Celtics or the Bucks you're playing against.
  19. Uh, Mason, again, most blocking fouls are called when the player is still moving his feet. I don't know what league you're watching, but my ideal referees stay consistent. I don't need to say it again. I suppose it's too bad the referees don't follow the written rules, but that's not my problem. In the NBA, in college, and when I've played ball, sliding your feet means you're still adjusting, and it's common sense you are. Still adjusting = not set. Simple as that. The Lakers were lucky? Damn dude, you're really pushing it there, haha. It's the Bucks. Get real. The Sixers just beat the Celtics, also...but I'd like for you to know that it means absolutely NOTHING. If you want to put the word amazing in parenthesis, don't do it for the Lakers. You'd be foolish to say that, in a sarcastic tone, about the defending champs. It's the Bucks who were proven to be an early season fluke, playing the easiest teams in the league and are now one or two games below .500 on the season, and Brandon Jennings is now tailing Tyreke Evans as the best rookie in the league. And all of the players you named as "banged up" hardly equal a healthy Kobe, truth be told. That's real talk.
  20. I'm shocked that Pierce didn't make that jumper...but then again, I'm sure everyone and their mothers knew he was taking that shot from the elbow. It's the only shot he takes in the clutch.
  21. Because he and Lopez, with a good player in CDR, should be winning more than 10 games this season. Harris was happy to leave Dallas, getting out of the backup role he had and "earning" this starting job with New Jersey...so as a professional, he should want to prove to the fans that he can lead a team. If Devin was actually carrying this team a bit, then he decided to demand a trade or ask the FO to get something done, that might be different...but since his first game this season, Harris just hasn't looked like he wants to win. He doesn't want to score the ball at will (despite his ability to against certain slower point guards he's played against), he certainly doesn't want to pass the ball, and it's ALMOST like he's letting the team go down 30, then playing hard for himself, to make sure everyone knows it's not his fault.
