  1. Beasley can have good games, but sometimes, his shot selection is just ugly.
  2. Amazing. You MUST be a Lakers fan! That's exactly right, though. Bogut was sliding right when Kobe gathered, contact was made and Bogut's foot tripped up Bryant, causing the extra step, and the foul was made, continuation was allowed, and Bryant put up the ball. Great call by the referees. If it was rigged, they wouldn't have let the Lakers go down by a nearly-impossible six points with a minute to go, lol...but yeah, it just sucks to have to contain Bryant.
  3. The Lakers have 11 games in 19 days, with five sets of back-to-backs, then eight consecutive away games at the end of January. He needs to stop whining.
  4. The travel came due to the contact. You ever see someone get pushed in the back on a layup, and they travel trying to keep their balance? Check Bogut's foot when he trips up Bryant. Either you guys aren't watching the video, or you're watching it and beating the hell out of your keyboard. Sucks, huh? And Garnett has been setting illegal screens since he was in Minnesota. Players get irate about it, and so do coaches and fans. He puts out at least one per game, big difference from a questionable traveling call on an obvious blocking foul. The only thing you can question is the continuation, due to the extra step. If the referees see it as Bogut causing that extra step on the foul, it shows that they were probably looking more at Bogut and if he had position or not...which likely means they made the right call.
  5. http://espn.go.com/espn/elias?date=20091217 How odd is that?
  6. How is Deng overrated when nobody talks about him? He's still the one doing all the scoring, shooting better than Rose, and he plays better defense than Rose...so arguably, he's the better player and more valuable to this team. Fact is, Derrick has taken a step down from where he was last season...and that was his rookie year. I don't care if Kobe is taking him under his wing. Kobe isn't in Chicago every other day, let alone every other week, or even month. Rose is settling for a jumper he doesn't have. Maybe he's watching way too much Kobe, and trying to emulate greatness. If that's the case, he's going to fail miserably.
  7. It happens around the break. I'm out of town and not on my computer, so posting using my brother's computer is much different. He's usually on it looking at cars, then he's got his girl in his bedroom, haha...so I'm SOL sometimes.
  8. Saw another angle. If Bogut hadn't moved before Kobe picked up his dribble, it would've been a charge. I'm going to safely say that the refs would've called it one if Andrew had been in the circle as well, or a combo of the two.
  9. It's strictly defense. Bosh must not realize that the Raptors' offense is fine for the most part: they aren't having trouble scoring the ball (5th in points per 100), and there are nightly contributors, just not as consistent as he is. Problem is, they don't have the defensive intensity to match their offense. By the way, the Raptors are dead last, defensively (points allowed per 100 is better than points allowed, which has a lot to do with pace). Bargnani, Calderon, Hedo, and Bosh are all poor defensive players. DeRozan has a lot of work to do. There are your starters, and that's why Toronto is stuck in between a rock and a hard place.
  10. Sacramento should deal him. Few will like that four-year deal, but I'm sure someone would bite, and maybe the Kings can get some talent back. Evans should be leading this team into April, not Martin.
  11. He just wants the most money he can rake in. If he disappoints again this season, his FA value falls flat on its face, and few teams will want him for anything over the MLE.
  12. Doesn't really matter. Billups has been struggling, and Lawson is more than capable of starting. Denver will be fine.
  13. Kobe dropped 27 points, 10-19 shooting in the second half, including the last seven after the Lakers were down six with 1:18 to go. That's partly because the Bucks had no answer for him, and partly because Bryant is the best player in the game. Putting Charlie Bell on Kobe, by himself, is stupid. If the game is on the line, you don't stick someone on Bryant out on an island, doesn't matter if it's Bell, Wade or Battier...your chances of losing the game are increased significantly.
  14. Yep. She actually drove off and was nowhere to be found when the cops saw Henry lying in the street. RIP.
  15. I think the rule is 0.3 for a catch and shoot or a tip-in (feet never touching the ground), and 0.4 for a catch/set/shoot (Fisher vs. Spurs). Anything less is impossible...but don't quote me on that until I find a link, haha.
  16. Here, you guys can feed on this a bit while I update records. http://www.otrbasketball.com/forums/topic/5500-arenas-nobody-can-guard-me (nobody can guard him) http://www.otrbasketball.com/forums/topic/6504-its-time-people-realize (we should've realized)
  17. Haha, now wait a minute...wasn't everyone else's expectations extremely high to start the season off? Wasn't it Gilbert who said he's done blogging, that he's going to be a changed man on the court, and play much better at 100%? Didn't people think Washington was going to win 40-49 games (in the poll created pre-season)? I'm only staying consistent with what I've been saying since 2007. If everyone else allowed their expectations to hit rock bottom, I'm going to point that out. Because of Gilbert's mouth, and because the Washington fans believed, I'm going to expect... 1) Gilbert to play better basketball and be healthy all season 2) Gilbert to pass the ball more 3) The Wizards to be a better team and have a winning record with their big three healthy Since Arenas is the primary scoring option, I guess it's him or bust for Washington...and that's why my expectations are still going to be high. If that's a problem, they need to trade him.
  18. He was still moving, and he was outside of the circle. But whatever it takes, I guess. Perfect angle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p2G6LymlDMk He slid in, never had position. Sorry.
  19. If Rose is leading this team, he's doing a pretty crappy job. He better step his game up. Without Noah, Chicago would be giving up 120 points per. Rose needs to play defense and start attacking the rim again, or else they'll be begging for a real superstar (Wade) to come and save their franchise next season.
  20. By the way, how can anyone complain about a potential travel at the end of the game if they are supporting LeBron James?! How many travels has he had on game-winners alone? The ball is hit and Kobe takes the extra step. It can go both ways, but travels aren't called after fouls, either, and he was hacked before Bogut even took the hit.
  21. Awesome contributions by the un-clutch against the Kings. Evans (a rookie) picked his pocket and showed Arenas he was the better guard tonight. Arenas doesn't have a team? Haha, I'm pretty sure he does. Wade has Beasley and O'Neal. Brandon Jennings has Bogut. Both teams are better than the Wizards. And I placed the blame on everyone else as well. Go read my previous posts. It just seems like that's not the right thing to do, since NOBODY is to blame in Washington (except for the injury bug, of course!) so I don't know where to go with it. Don't bring up shooting percentages? Defense? Turnovers? What else should I say? He sure the hell didn't look like he was getting anyone involved late in the game tonight, and I do watch plenty of Wizards games on LP. My girlfriend is a Cavs fan, so she cheers for the team opposing them, and we love watching Washington lose. But yeah, keep praying for the "injured" Arenas, the guy who has taken 20+ shots in five of his last seven games, all but one in losing efforts. I guess I was right in saying that Mike Miller was the most valuable player for the Wizards, since these three so-called "all-star caliber players" in Jamison, Butler and Arenas are on pace to win just 25 games at this point without him playing.
