  1. Well, Wade and LeBron love playing at MSG too, actually all of the good players do......so that doesn't really matter. To me, the biggest disadvantages for the Knicks playing the Celts has nothing to do with Boston's interior D, which is not that great, sorry. It has to do with the quickness of Rondo, who guards him? Billups is so damn slow. And, Boston does a great job of making the tempo favor them. So the Knicks need to keep the pace quick, and find a way to corral Rondo and they can force it to six. They'll never win the series, but at least it'd be exciting.
  2. Yeah...but STAT hasn't played the past two games, would like to see them continue to play together in limited minutes the next two games...just to keep the rhythm they began to get going.
  3. Yeah, I guess. True. Although, I hope the Knicks aren't rusty. I'd play Melo, STAT, and Billups at least 20 minutes. That's just my take though.
  4. It's official we play them? If so, should make Wednesday night's game quite interesting.
  5. Or two new all-stars who need the ball in their hand to be successful.
  6. Celts are playing quite poorly now, hard to know what to expect out of them. Just 14-11 since the Perkins trade, which really has to scare you as a Celtics supporter/fan. I think the Heat are going to make the Finals. I just think in a 7 game series Bosh Wade and LeBron are too much.
  7. Is this even a question? Briana the first chick lol
  8. Lol. Why wouldn't that want it? Quite simple dude...what if you work in a real urban area where the kids are not there to learn but goof off and be dumbasses. It starts at home; let's all remember that education and effort in the classroom largely has to do with how much your parents push you and make you be involved. Because if my parents didn't push me I probably wouldn't have given a [expletive]. So a teacher can be great, but you can't physically force kids to do the work, so if their grades suffer and they don't open their ears to learn, the teacher gets fired/lower wages? I mean, that's just flat out BS, c'mon. Yeah but Christie has made the teachers union especially a major target. Plus, there's other ways to lower the budget. Cutting 820 mil from schools is a helluva lot, especially when America's education is already suffering. We need to find other places where we could cut money. Maybe less tax cuts for the top 2% of the state? Nah, wouldn't consider that...I mean, stuff like that we could find other ways to slowly close teh budget gap.
  9. I know how to use the internet. I support artists that I like. Cudi was one of them; Don't [expletive]s with him anymore though. I buy like 3-4 albums all year, VADO (debut), Kanye, Cudi was like all I bought last year. Oh and that N.E.R.D. album if you want to consider that rap music.
  10. Amazing? He was never. But he was a very chill rapper, average lyrically, I liked his flow, I liked his swag, but the second album was a major disappointment for me. I really enjoyed the first album, and loved his mixtape "A Kid Named Cudi." About three summer's ago that shit was on full replay all the time. But the second album he fell off, he started doing Cocaine, and just seemed unfocused and no desire to further his rap career. He's stated this was his last 'rap' album, and he'll be doing rock and roll? WTF? I mean, cmon, now he's just being a clown. I say [expletive] him at this point.
  11. Yes! Now we are making progress! Haha, I don't think you and I are too far off based when it comes to Education. I completely agree they need to be paid more, not simply cutting their benefits, pensions, and salary. That will HURT our Education, not help it. Sorry Christie...But I do completely agree once again they need to figure something out with tenure; the system is broken. To get rid of it completely? I'd say no, simply for the reasons Real Deal so clearly and articulately pointed out. But it is definitely a system that needs to be fixed.
  12. No one was really sitting here asking you to feel bad. We were just saying these Public school teachers don't deserve the same amount of scrutiny that so much of the public such as Christie give them. He's so off base and ignorant and acts like they are fat [expletive] millionaires such as himself, when clearly, they are not. I'd say most, at least younger teachers, barely get by. And let me bold this so ECN and Flash can see this clearly. You guys say they should know the pay, the long hours, all that comes with the job when they go into the profession...fair enough, I agree, and I'm sure they do. But that's EXACTLY what's wrong with the Education. The really bright young minds in America do know about the mediocre pay, the long hours at home in preparation for your class, and the pain in the ass discipline problems can be, etc. etc. etc. So therefore, they go into different Corporate jobs, etc. instead of being great, hard-working dedicated teachers that could improve our education system! IF we made teaching a more high paying, more respectable job, then we could really see a major change in our education system. Otherwise, with people like Christie, you'll just see the old B.S. adage that teachers are overpaid, really don't do much, lazy-ass tenured state workers sucking up your taxes. Just think of the ignorance that stems from that statement, and get back to us.
  13. Oh no you raise some great points. I don't like him either. Just saying he's definitely been very successful and each year you know his team will be talented as hell no mattter where he is. I know, still the best recruiter, he gets the guys lol. How he's able to actually get the one and done's all the time with little backlash is pretty amazing...I don't like the guy either. Just saying. (so they "vacate" the victories? Does it matter? Cmon guys. Like anyone gives a [expletive] they vacated the final fours of the Fab Five too...people still remember them and no one cares...)
  14. Lol @ you guys buying into that. His one at UMASS was vacated because Camby took money from an agent? That happens everywhere lmfao. His other ones because Rose didn't take the SAT? I'm sure that happens with regularity for a lot of the top players, as well. He still physically got them there. Could care less if the NCAA (which, let's be honest, probably the most hypocritcal organization/association of all time) "vacated" them. No one really cares if the did anyway...People still consider him one of the top College coaches...
  15. Yeah but you must admit, when you think about it, teaching must be pretty tiring. Six classes a day, an hour class, standing on your feet, talking, explaining, dealing with discipline problems, etc. etc. it's not as easy of a job as people want to think. Not saying it's like being the President, but it's definitely quite a bit to deal with each day if you're going to be a successful and dedicated teacher. ^And they work those other jobs simply because they don't make much money. Of course it goes up with experience, but many start in the high 30k's when they are in their 20's and low 30's. And my original point was that paying teachers more would attract better teachers and would in turn be able to hold them more accountable for doing their job. The fact that many of the best teachers are making 40-50k leaves them with very little motivation and does not make the job all that appealing.
  16. Not sure if that was sarcasm or? Pretty sure Cal has been to three final fours, and on the brink of a Nat'l Champ with Memphis. Am I wrong?
  17. True, Broussard is pretty intelligent, always liked him. Maybe because he's the same color as me jk. But nah, really, I mean he raises good points but don't get me started on the Jalen Rose thing anyway...Lol.
  18. Yeah, of course, Christie has a point, but the thing is how do you come to the conclusion of 'not doing your job?' I mean, just because a teacher has been there 30 years doesn't mean he or she isn't doing their job or still trying hard to enhance learning for their students...That's really the main issue; instead of battling with the Unions, which Christie hates Unions, he needs to figure out ways to make the education system better, not by dividing people, but bringing people together and WORK WITH teachers to find common sense goals.
  19. Yeah, very true. Ever since him and Billups have played a lot better the team has been WINNING! True. If the Knicks lost this it would be worse than losing 3 games to the Cavs...
  20. Yeah and since property taxes are pretty much what fund schools, African-American's generally go to poorer schools by living in the City, so you're right on. Education leads to less ignorance. As I state below, years of going to poorer schools, etc. is just the build up of a vicious cycle that produces results such as the crime rates, 1/3 black men going to jail, etc. It's become socially acceptable because that's all they've really known. Years of oppression leads to ignorance. Doesn't change overnight, let's get realistic and stop living in our fantasy lands here guys.
  21. You do realize that teaching is not that great, right? Like, the profession itself? It's not that easy commanding and controling a classroom....and like Lkr says it's more than just the work they put in from 8 to 2 each day...Also, standing on your feet teaching takes a lot of energy for 7 hours a day then paperwork after school, and coming in early/staying late for extra help, etc. To be a good teacher takes a lot of work - and 50K a year is not that great of pay...if you want to get the best possible teachers they should be paid more. Many beginning teacher's I have spoken to have to take on summer jobs as they are paying off college loans still, waitressing, bar tending, etc.
  22. I suppose...but it's hard to argue with the success. One thing he can do is recruit...Lol. I like D'Antoni. I think he's a very good coach, better than Calipari for sure!
  23. 50K a year is not a lot. I know plenty of people that are very very intelligent and they have told me they'd love to go into teaching, but it's not worth it when you make such little money, when they could go into other corporate jobs, etc. and make six figures easily. True, but how you get to that conclusion is debatable. A lot depends on where you teach in general. If you teach in a well-to-do suburban area, then you'll be successful. If you're in an worse off urban area, you'll be considered a failure? Like Obama said, a lot of the education process starts at home with parents teaching their own kids the correct behaviors and responsibility to give effort in school and embrace learning. Well, if they had no benefits we would pretty much have one of the absolute worst education systems in the World. There needs to be something that persuades the brightest minds in America to pursue teaching as a plausible career.
  24. It's become a part of black culture; there are certain stereotypes that can go for White's too. I mean, the ignorance that surrounds the African-American community largely stems from the Social and Economic inequalities in America that still exist, ex. being Black's generally go to poorer schools than White's, which continues vicious cycles, and basically prolongs this ignorance that you see being filmed on sites like WSHH, etc. etc.
