    Key Match-up:

    Joakim Noah vs. Tim Duncan

Chicago Bulls at San Antonio Game Preview:

This is a must win game for our Chicago Bulls because the Circus Trip is only going to get harder after the defeat of a Rockets team that did not have Aaron Brooks nor Yao Ming.

This will be the first time we will get to see Tim Duncan and his team this year. We started off the season against them last year at the United Center and Derrick Rose blocked Richard Jefferson. The Bulls beat the Spurs by 10+ last year with a weaker team who had many injuries. Luol Deng, Derrick Rose, and many others were still injured and slowly recovering. Last year's bench was horrid compared to this years. Joakim Noah will have to be motivated tonight against Timmy, which he did not seem against Brad Miller. He looked a little high and he didn't play with any passion against Brad Miller, which was disappointing where we could have crushed the Rockets if he did.

Rose will be going against an old Tony Parker, where Rose should dominate and take advantage of that. He should not be passive unless the shot is not there or else he should just attack the lane and as a result rack up assists by open shots because of his penetration.

We must contain Manu Ginobili today and that is a key to victory. If the Chicago Bulls execute Tom Thibodeau's defense mastermind strategies then they will have no problems with containing Manu. They played great team defense and man defense against Kevin Martin and he played horrible last night against Ronnie Brewer, who used his athleticism and length against him. Yesterday, Ronnie Brewer was the first half MVP and he played great and is looking healthy finally and if he is healthy he will be a great starter.

Luol Deng must play within the system unlike last night where he tries to be what he is not; an iso-scorer. He needs to let the offense come to him and not try too hard to do everything, because that's when he plays the worst and he has his hands full tonight against Richard Jefferson who is playing well.

Let's go Bulls and I'm predicting a grimy win.

  3. Anyways frustrations aside this loss was not so bad, Martin is rarely this ineffective offensively (I guess that says a lot about the Bulls defense) and we were missing 3 key players, We had a few good stretches defensively, which is another good sign, Rick just play Hill, he makes such a big impact on the boards and on the defensive end.

Brewer played excellent defense against Martin and the Bulls have the best defensive coach in the league in Thibodeau.

Nah i loved how he started fouling 30 seconds left and his [expletive]t substitutions even more, Refs were garbage too, I mean they review our questionable plays but not the bulls?

The Bulls also had very questionable calls especially on Rose that should have been called and in those replays showed that he did not get it off.

All while shooting 24% from three so far this year...

    33% now.

  4. Would be another big win for the Rockets they need to keep this going.

BTW that is not Lee in the pic that's Ish Smith...

Yeah, sorry I went to fast in creating the thread.

    Chicago Bulls Preview:

This is a must win game for our Chicago Bulls because the Circus Trip is only going to get harder and we must defeat a Rockets team without Yao Ming or Aaron Brooks.

This will be the first time we will get to see the return of Brad Miller and Joakim Noah should dominate against Brad Miller because he is too slow and lost a lot of steps. Rose should have a field day in the lane as well because Miller is too slow to stop Rose from penetration.

Rose will be going against an inexperienced point guard, where Rose should dominate the whole day and take advantage of that. He should not be passive unless the shot is not there or else he should just attack the lane and as a result rack up assists by open shots because of his penetration.

We must contain Kevin Martin tomorrow and that is a key to victory. If the Chicago Bulls execute Tom Thibodeau's defense mastermind strategies then they will have no problems with containing Kevin Martin. I really hope James Johnson, Bogans, and Brewer can play great defense tomorrow because Kyle Korver might be out for the game and possibly the Circus Trip.

  5. Jazz point guard Deron Williams and Bulls point guard Derrick Rose have been named the NBA's Players of the Week for the Western and Eastern Conference, respectively.

Rose averaged 21.3 points in leading the Bulls to a 3-0 record during the week of Nov. 8-14.

Williams led the Jazz to a 4-0 mark while averaging 23 points on 46 percent shooting. He also averaged 11.8 assists and 4.0 rebounds.

Pleasant surprise, because I wasn't expecting Derrick Rose to get it but Deron definitely deserved it.

  9. Post-Game Notes:

The Bulls executed their offense and defense great tonight and I was very happy about that. They took care of business and routed the Warriors, especially from the tip which destroyed their moral to fight. The Bulls came out hungry tonight against a sloppy Golden State Warriors team who really hurt their cause by silly turnovers and fouls. They cannot guard a stiff. I love the impartial officiating of last night's game as well.

Rose played good defense tonight and Coach Thibodeau and Noah is rubbing off on Rose's defense, which is exciting news. Rose just needs to gamble a bit more on defense because he has two great defenders behind him in Taj and Joakim Noah. JoNo and LunchPale will make them pay coming to the lane if they don't block the shot of course.

Back to their offense, it didn't look selfish and it didn't stick from one spot. There was some very great passes and the team was not selfish. Rose really looked like a superstar point guard tonight running the point. In the second-third quarter, Rose could've went off for 40 but he decided to get his teammates involved, and rack up assists. Tonight, was a great example of teamwork on offense. The Warriors had trouble guarding the slashing and cutting of Luol Deng and others. We need to beat the zone though, which we did with Kyle Korver and C.J. Watson.

The Bulls played good defense against Monta Ellis and Stephen Curry. Rose should've been accredited with 3 blocks on Curry tonight, but only got credited with 1 which I am dumbfounded by. The team collapsed on Ellis and made it harder for him to score. The Bulls bench had a lapse on defense, but oh well it's the bench for Christ Sakes.

Luol Deng has a very aggressive mindset this year and it works sometimes for him. Tonight, his mindset allowed him to play well and I would like to see a tad more consistency out of Luol Deng especially on the Circus Trip.

Let's whoop some Wizards tomorrow night @ our Madhouse on Madison!

  10. Has your team played as well/worse as you thought it would be?

    Bulls:

    - They're at a "meh" area. They played well and I thought three of those games we played we should have won. Two of those games on the road were decided by the refs.

    - This is a new team that needs to mesh more and our shooting guard, Brewer is still injured but showed signs of previous play against Boston. I think he should be starting above Bogans for exposure to the court and get some chemistry with the team.

    - I really liked the effort and offense execution we saw yesterday.

  11. Noah looks bulked up this year which is great against the Howard's and Perkin's in in the league.Taj looked great tonight but had some boneheaded mistakes. I think he will still contribute well off the 2nd unit and will get better when he practices with CBoozTheBull.Luol started off well but ended bad. He had 18 points on 17 shots, he's gotta attack the rim, instead of long jumpers.Rose played awful for 3 quarters, but really stepped it up in the 4th quarter. That's what star players do.Bogans shot well but he needs to shoot more so the defense respects the shot. Brewer is getting better each day he is playing and I really think he should start and Korver off the bunch. I just wish Brewer had a better shot, but oh well.Overall, good game by the Bulls and this is why you keep Noah, A WINNER, over Carmelo.

  14. Former NBA guard Cuttino Mobley is hoping to return to the league after sitting out the last two seasons, according to Yahoo Sports!

He announced on Dec. 10, 2008, that he "couldn't continue to play professional basketball without putting my health and life in serious danger" after doctors told him he was at risk because of his heart condition.

Mobley, 35, now says he's confident his heart is fine, and is willing to undergo a series of physicals for interested teams.

"I just want to come in and kind of help out for 10, 15 minutes [per game] if I could," Mobley said. "And if they wanted to give me a test with three to four different doctors and have me go through some type of process, I'm all for it. I just want to let people know they shouldn't be afraid of me and what could happen to me.

"A lot of people are saying, 'Why do you want to play? We are afraid for you.' No, you’re afraid for yourselves. You're not afraid for me. Believe me, I'm fine."

    Via Marc J. Spears/Yahoo! Sports

    Thoughts? Any takers?
  15. I wish the Bulls could have somehow kept Ben Gordon. A line up of Rose-Gordon-Deng-Boozer-Noah would have been really good. A really balanced team and the Bulls already are pretty deep

Gordon's defense is atrocious though and he would be abused by the big shooting guards.

We can't get any of the guys you mentioned unfortunately, all for the common reason that their team needs them (yes, even Afflalo). I hope we can get Marcus Thornton since he is getting no love at NO, but no matter what, we really don't have any expendable pieces that other teams would be interested in. Also, we only got 1.4 mil left of cap space, so that's only enough for a vet minimum.

Danthay Jones could be another option given how he is not even in the rotation for Indy, but he's only a better version of Keith Bogans.

To be honest, I wished we re-signed Flip Murray because he can really score. :(

I wish we kept Kirk Hinrich and got James Anderson as a result of the first round pick. We would be set and could make a huge play on Melo if we had Kirk's expiring contract and if Deng and Taj continue to play like this.

The deal would've went like this: Deng, Hinrich, Taj, Picks for Melo & Affalo.

  16. After, last night's game it's pretty evident that we need a solid or above-average shooting guard. Bogans and Korver won't cut it because Korver is one-dimensional and he let too many easy buckets arise last night. Bogans simply does not score and is offense is overrated. There was no need for Bogans to dive for the ball because it was deflected and would have been Bulls ball anyways.

Brewer is still recovering, but he needs to practice more on his jumper and his three point shot, but that's a pipe dream because he suffered a freakish injury on his hand when he was a kid.

This is a list of shooting guards I thought from the top of my head:

    - Stephen Jackson: He's a good defender, scorer, and he has some attitude but it's some attitude you want on your team. He gets to the line as well. Charlotte want's their pick back and SJAX has only two years left on his contract.

    - Aaron Affalo: Inexpensive and solid shooting guard.

    - OJ Mayo: Doubtful because Memphis has no need for Taj Gibson or to deal Mayo yet.

    - Jason Richardson: Scorer and another playmaker.

    - Ben Gordon: Bulls don't take back ex-players that they made mistakes on, but I wish they did.

    - Kevin Martin: Doubtful --- Pay king's ransom for him out of Houston and he's injury prone as well.

Who do you think we should acquire or pursue?

  18. Who said Deng couldn't score. I didn't get a chance to watch the game, but just out of curiousity who was defending him tonight? Batum is a top tier perimeter defender in this league, so if it was him who got lit up then I definitly have to give props to Deng.

    Batum was defending him yesterday.
