  1. so what's the lesson here? it's a star's league.
  2. technically, that's not a team. it's just a lineup.
  3. I know we have a few people here that are fans of teams that don't play in their state. Real Deal is a Laker fan in Kansas, IllWill is a Knick fan in Philly, and I still have no clue what team Nitro follows lol. I used to be a Laker fan, but started hating them after they traded Shaq. I liked the Warriors for awhile, but they fell out of favor with me after trading Randolph and giving $80M to Lee. plus, the color and logo changes - not cool. besides that, I've never really liked the Clippers or Kings, either, so I had to go out of state. I chose Miami because they were able to get Wade and Bosh, two of my favorite players, and I was always a fan of Miami since they traded for Shaq anyway. so out of state fans - how did this happen?
  4. lol @ LeBron. he just has to kick em while they're down. that guy's a dick, I'll admit.
  5. not to be a dick, but making him his own subofurm would likely just increase discussion regarding Melo.
  6. oh, I'm so sorry Billups. I'm sorry you might have to play with Melo, Rip, and Lopez on a playoff team in Jersey. I know that's such a horrible possibility, especially when you're only getting paid $13M/year to play basketball. lol, professional athletes slay me sometimes.
  7. I doubt Philly could find a better QB than Vick in this year's draft. I understand the concerns surrounding Vick, but what if we're wrong? what if he can continue to play like he did this year? then you'd be getting rid of an MVP caliber player just because you were worried he MIGHT get injured. Kolb is never going to be a great QB in this league imo. you might as well trade him now while he only has a year left on his contract and make Vick the starter for the next few years. he's going to sell tickets, put them in contention, and possibly repeat the success he had with them this year.
  8. agreed; we should just make a single thread for all things Melo.
  9. finally, someone mentions this. there are too many people who think Cleveland should have won the title last year, but I try telling them they'd never win against Boston. Jamison and Williams are ineffective against good defenders. there's no way they were going to outplay KG or Rondo in that series. sure, they had LeBron, but that doesn't really mean much when they're weaker at all other positions than the opposing team. I just assumed they always had a good fanbase considering their attendance during the LeBron years. if it was weak before then, though, that would have been even more reason for Stern to give them the first pick. he probably wanted to revive that fanbase and giving them James would have been the most effective option.
  10. every draft is rigged; not just that one. why didn't Stern award the first pick to New York? the Knicks were only a few wins back of making the playoffs that year. giving them the top pick would have sent off huge red flags, especially considering the '85 theory. it would have made a lot more sense to award that pick to Cleveland. they tied with Denver for the worst record in the NBA that year and all the Cavs fans wanted the Ohio native James on their team. the Cavs have one of the best fanbases in the NBA and Stern wanted to give them their hometown hero. it's the same reason Chicago got the top pick in the Rose draft.
  11. I'm not trying to troll, but Cleveland is awful. I saw them play the Warriors in Oakland a few nights ago and it was probably the worst game I've ever seen put on by an NBA club. they lost by 18 to Golden State, which should give you an idea of what they're like. I suggest rebuilding now. trade Jamison, Parker, Mo Williams, etc and try getting draft picks and some young players. I'm predicting they'll get the first overall pick in the upcoming draft (yeah, I think it's rigged by Stern). he gave them the top pick in 2003, he'll do it again. they need a superstar to save these loyal Cavs fans from losing all faith in Cleveland sports.
  12. they're probably going to sue Arizona now, for banning them from a public funeral.

  14. dude, you should research Manchurian Candidates. they're basically brainwashed assassins who commit their murders unknowingly. after Mark Chapman shot John Lennon, he just sat there and started reading 'The Catcher in the Rye.' Lee Oswald, Sirhan Sirhan, and Tim McVeigh are other suspected candidates. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tGDE79pCqCU&feature=related these are some things I've found online about Loughner having possibly been a Manchurian Candidate. http://www.godlikeproductions.com/forum1/message1316846/pg1 http://r8ny.com/blog/vincent_nunes/jared_loughner_manchurian_candidate_update.html http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qs92mLQYzVs whether or not this was a setup or just a senseless murder, it was a tragedy. RIP to all the victims.
  15. I would also choose Vick. give him a three or four year deal and trade Kolb for picks.
  16. definitely the second one. you want to be a photographer?
  17. meh, I'd rather it be Brooklyn. it helps to set them apart from the Knicks. the Brooklyn Nets sounds great imo.
  18. who would you choose as the next long-term QB for the Eagles?

  20. they protest anything that's against the bible (gayness, war, other religions, etc). apparently, they want to protest this little girl's funeral because she was catholic. it's sickening, really. in 1998, a 21 year-old gay man named Matthew Shepard was beaten and hanged on a fence to die in the small town of Laramie, Wyoming. this same family showed up at his funeral with signs that read, 'God hates [expletive]s,' 'have fun in hell,' stuff like that. they ended up making a play about it, called 'The Laramie Project.' they performed it at my school last year and I saw the family there on campus.
