  1. No, it's sure as hell not "rich". Why should someone want to settle for living comfortably when they can live lavishly? No one is saying that people that make minimum wage aren't working hard, but there's a reason they aren't making millions of dollars and that's because those jobs in general can be done by the average person. The average person can't be a CEO.
  2. Keep talking Suggs. You've beaten Brady ONCE in your entire career. The Ravens are just like the Jets talking [expletive] and not always being able to back it up, albeit the Jets did in week 2. You just got owned Suggs. http://www.nesn.com/2010/10/ray-lewis-terrell-suggs-engaged-in-trash-talk-battle-with-tom-brady.html
  3. You can live comfortably on $250k, but you know damn well that it isn't "rich". Don't even try to put those people in the same sentence as a Bill Gates and Warren Buffet in terms of wealth. So, let's use a real example of a person living in Chicago that makes $250k each year, and you tell me if they are rich. A married couple makes $250 k and pay $100,000 in federal and state taxes. That doesn't include sales and other taxes. Then there's property taxes that come out to $15,000. Then you have $250,000 in student loans. Yes, they went to college and are paying for their education. Then you have insurance, doctors bills, car payments, ect to pay. This family ends up having a few hundred dollars each month to spend what they want. That's not rich. It's time for a reality check. It matters where you live. And, who the hell are you to try and tell someone who makes $250k that they "should be willing" to give more and [expletive] like that? Yes, let's penalize people for being successful. It's not their fault they got an education and have jobs that are not as common as being a McDonalds worker or a janitor.
  4. I understand that, but it is tough to be a contender year in and year out in today's NFL. Would winning a Super Bowl be worth two 1st round picks to you? It sure as hell would be to me. I know it's not a guarentee a coach will get you over the hump, but sometimes you just need to go for it, and I don't think you would like to sit here and five years saying, "Damn, if only we had gotten such and such for a coach when we had a talented team. Well, I'll just wait five more years for my team to be competitive". Sometimes you have to go for it.
  5. So, just because somebody has worked hard and can afford to pay more in taxes means that they should be required to?
  6. It's really not THAT much money. It's not like you hit it big if you make $250k. Would many people love to make that much money? Sure. Is it an extraordinary amount of money? No, not at all. The average income takes into account the many, many people that are working minimum wage jobs that may not have graduated high school and that completely skews the entire scale. Also, you need to take into account where in the country you are living, as it make a HUGE difference with how much $250k can get you. Again, you can live comfortably off of it, but it's not an amazing amount.
  7. So, you'd rather keep two high draft picks along with Wade Phillips and Jason Garret for years to come while your players age and go into free-agency? The Cowboys are probably the most talented team in the NFC, so I don't see why they wouldn't give up two high picks to get a much better chance of winning the Super Bowl. I mean, the Cowboys gave up a 1st, 3rd, and 6th round pick for Roy Williams. So, would you rather watch a talented team [expletive] the bed year after year while coveting picks that may never amount to nothing(or they could), or take the next step that could get you much closer to winning the Super Bowl, or actually winning it? I'm sure most teams would give up multiple 1st rounders just for chance to play in the Super Bowl. I'm not saying a great coach will get you there, but the chances greatly increase.
  8. You do realize that $250k isn't THAT much in today's society? Yes, it's more than the "average" person, but it's not nearly as much as you're trying to make it sound. With paying for homes, colleges, ect, it's really not nearly the amount you're trying to make it sound. Would a homeless person or very poor person love to make that? Yes, but it's really not a ton of money nowadays.
  9. I'm pretty damn sure a team like the 49er's or Cowboys who have a lot of talent would be willing to part with two+ 1st rounders and two+ second rounders to get a coach that can get their team over the hump. A team like the Cowboys is already stacked and doesn't need many picks right now, so I think if they could make trade, they would.
  10. Damn, if John Gruden can fetch two 1st rounders and two 2nd rounders, I would love to know what Belichick could fetch. . I'm sure Sean Payton or Mike Shannahan could fetch a decent amount as well.
  11. This doesn't just have to be a thread about Bill Belichick in particular, but he's thought of as the best coach, so I thought I'd use him for my question. With teams like the 49er's and Cowboys struggling with all of the talent they had, I'd be curious as to what you would be willing to give up from your team to acquire him, or another very good coach in the league? Is three first round picks too much? I'm not too sure if you can give up players in a trade for a coach, but if you can, which players and picks would you give up for him or another coach of your choice? Obviously the coach has to currently be in the league for the purpose of this question, but I just want to see what people would be willing to give up for some certain coaches.
  12. It's easy for Harrison to say that now that he's not playing and is just an analyst. Also, people make Harrison sound dirtier then he really was. A lot of his so called "dirty" hits were just hard, but yes, he did have his fair share of "dirty" hits. However, it wasn't as many as people like to think. And, once again, this was not a hit on a defenseless receiver.
  13. G-MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!! I always liked you bastards up until the [expletive]ing Super Bowl, but I hope you guys win. I picked you for this division, so don't let me down. . The 49er's are pissing me off, so seeing the Cowboys and possibly the Packer's season go down the [expletive]ter would be great!
  14. That sure as hell isn't happening. There are only a few teams that have fans that consistently flood opposing teams stadiums, and those teams are the Cadadiens, Maple Leafs, Steelers, Cowboys, and Red Sox.
  15. Your dumb sorry [expletive] Chargers keep costing me money. I'm betting everything against those [expletive]ers next week. The will get smacked. The Patriots are about to put on a show!
  16. And, what if he catches the ball? You can't let him catch it, and it wasn't even helmet to helmet contact, so I don't see the problem.
  17. I shouldn't have said the Seahawks. They are actually the one team that I hate watching the 49er's play. They always worry me. I think the 49er's have the POTENTIAL to win the division with their remaining schedule, but it will take a LOT! LET'S GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  18. The ball at least hit him. You can't let him make that catch.
  19. He wasn't really defenseless. Now, Brandon Merriweather's hit on Todd Heap today was a hit on a defenseless receiver.
  20. If Arizona loses one more game then the 49er's still control their own destiny, so good try. This division is [expletive], and so are the 49er's, but I don't think they are as [expletive]ty as the Rams and Seahawks. Not to mention the Cardinals are led by Max Hall. I'm not holding my breath, but it's not out of the realm of possibility.
  21. The Cardinals and Seahawks better watch out. The 49er's are coming for you!
  22. The haters are sure quiet today. :glasses: .
  23. Brandon Merriweather will be getting a big fine this week.
  24. I don't think taxes are bad, but don't screw hard working people that make a lot of money out of their earnings. I understand that taxes pay for things, but they are often used for stupid [expletive]. And, if $50 isn't much, then there's no excuse for the family that had its house burned down not to have paid the $75.
