Patriots interested in reacquiring WR Branch?
EastCoastNiner replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in AFC Conference Discussion
I know Moss is far more talented, but you guys said the exact same thing about Moss. This will work. -
You mean being smarter then every organization in the NFL? They can still contend and win the Super Bowl this year, and they are in far better shape than any other team going forward. The NFL schedule is going to expand to 18 games, meaning that there are going to be expanded rosters, meaning that if you have more QUALITY picks, the chances of your team being great improves greatly. They are also starting to expose the weaknesses in this division. The AFC East's strength on defense is CB, and they are moving away from throwing to just WR's, and are going to expose the LB's with their two excellent TE's. It's pretty simple, but many of you don't think.

Guess which Packers player is injured now!
EastCoastNiner replied to Lkr's topic in NFC Conference Discussion
I think it's somewhat sad, but not ridiculous. That's the great thing about divisions. I never once complained when the Patriots misses the playoffs when they went 11-5. I think the division format is great. I know a lot of people will think it's dumb to see a potential 7-9 team make it in over a potential 10-6 team, but that's what makes having divisions so great. -

Will the 49ers make the playoffs?
EastCoastNiner replied to Real Deal's topic in NFC Conference Discussion
If they were 1-4 or the Cardinals were 2-3 then I would feel alright about their chances, but I'm really not sure at this point. Their remaining schedule SHOULD be easy, but they've already lost to the Seahawks and Chiefs(who weren't supposed to be good). They found a way to blow it against the Saints, Falcons, and Eagles. If the offense opens it up like they did towards the end of the Saints and Philadelphia game, they should be able to win the division, but their coaching staff seems to think they are a running team when in reality they are more suited as a passing team or a more balanced team. I'd say the order of likeliness to win the division is: Cardinals- Have a three game lead 49er's- I still think they are too talented to not make a strong push for the division Seahawks- Could flip with the Rams Rams- Could flip with the Seahawks Also, the Cardinals have Max Hall starting at QB and he did [expletive] last game, but the Saints killed themselves. I'm banking on him sucking. And, most importantly, the 49er's NEEEEEEDDDD to win BOTH games against the Cardinals or they are done. -
4.9 ypc. I'll take that. It's much better than Johnson's season average. .

Fire Department Lets House Burn Down
EastCoastNiner replied to EastCoastNiner's topic in Off-Topic Discussion Forum
The town decided on a rule, and these people decided they didn't want to pay. You can't just pay when something happens. That defeats the entire purpose. It's pretty much insurance. Also, the fire-fighters didn't want to lose their jobs. They had their orders, and those were to not put the fire out. They were at the scene, and put out the fire once it went on the neighbors lawn, a family that paid the $75. -

I'm going to have to give you the major facepalm right here. http://media.nscdn.com/uploads/cache/images/1239843309-769688-600x480-1239843181eheath_facepalm.jpg It's from a classic movie. -

I have no expectations. I'd like to say that the rest of the schedule is easy, which it should be, but the Seattle and Kansas City games should have been easy. I wouldn't be as concerned if they were two games back, but they are three back, which raises a ton of concern. I still have faith, but if they lose this week, it's over. -

EastCoastNiner replied to Lkr's topic in NFC Conference Discussion
They aren't supposed to be Super Bowl contenders, and I'm not making excuses for losing games like you two are. Too bad that they Packers can get 10 wins and miss and the 49er's could get 7 and make it. -
Moss is going to go BBBEEEEAAAASSSSTTTTTT tonight. Adrian Peterson will shred that defense. GO VIKINGS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Fire Department Lets House Burn Down
EastCoastNiner replied to EastCoastNiner's topic in Off-Topic Discussion Forum
Maybe I'm just being stereotypical here, but do you think it would be easy for those firefighters to find another job in their town in Tennessee that pays the same as what they were making at the department? I can sit here and say that I would have put the fire out because I would feel like [expletive] seeing a house burn down and people's belongings destroyed, but they didn't what they were required to do. I know that they COULD have put it out, but who knows what the repercussions would be. And, yes, I know someones response will be "that house is greater than the repercussions", but who knows what you'd do in that situation? I think the biggest problem here is the town rule that they have to pay $75. -
San Jose fans are not happy about this. .

I don't like the idea of the $75 fee, but that's what they decided on, and that family decided NOT to pay it. It's really not that hard to understand. If there were people inside the house, I have no clue what they would do. I'm going to guess they'd go in because lives would be in danger. It's the same thing as insurance, and they didn't pay. It's not that hard to understand. It is morally right? No, not at all. Is it what the town rules are? Yes. Paying $75 afterward makes no sense. The whole point is to pay if you want the service, and once you find out you may need it but didn't pay for it, you can't just decide to pay after. It's a terrible rule, but that is what the town decided on. -

Then, you'd have to find a different job, and who knows how hard it would be to find one? -

I get why people would be mad, and I don't like how you have to pay $75 for protection, but the town decided on it, so I guess they did what they had to do, and held their ground. I just find it a very interesting discussion. -
Fire Department Lets House Burn Down
EastCoastNiner replied to EastCoastNiner's topic in Off-Topic Discussion Forum
The town decided that it would be funded though taxes or a $75 payment. That family chose not to pay, and they did not receive the service because they didn't pay for it. If I don't have insurance, and I have cancer, should I just tell the insurance company that I will just pay them for a couple months worth of insurance, and then I won't need it anymore? No, it doesn't work like that. That family took a risk, and it didn't pay off for them. It's sad, but they didn't pay for the service. -
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FxALJ-9Ys-w What are your thoughts on this? I think it's sad that his house burned down, but the people of the town decided that they would pay $75 in order to service by the fire department, and this family did not pay the fine. I don't like the policy, but I do understand it. It's a sad situation, but they did what they were obliged to do.

Adrian Peterson will shred this defense tonight, and all of you Chris Johnson jockers will go into hiding. Adrian Peterson is on a different level than any HB in this league.
