Athlete With The Most Trade Value
EastCoastNiner replied to EastCoastNiner's topic in Other Sports Discussion
I think it has to be an MLB or NHL player mainly because there are "prospects" that can be dealt, whereas in the NFL and NBA you are just going to be dealing starters and draft picks. I saw Albert Pujols hit 2 HR's tonight, and I think he would command an immense amount, even though he is old than some of the younger studs in the MLB. Also, I think Sidney Crosby would cost a FORTUNE! -
Which athlete do you guys think has the most trad value right now? MLB- Albert Pujols, Hanley Ramirez, and many others. NBA- LeBron James had an MVP season. NHL- Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, and Alex Ovechkin are all absolutely amazing. NFL- Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, and Adrian Peterson all have extremely high trade value.
-
I don't fault ESPN for this entirely though. If ESPN and the NHL could have reached an agreement on a contract, the NHL would be a lot more popular, but I can't blame ESPN for not giving a lot of NHL coverage when the MLB, NBA, and NFL all play on ESPN and the NHL doesn't. However, I feel your pain.

I saw this list earlier, and I won't be really surprised if everyone on this list used steroids. None of the Boston Red Sox player surprise me either. I'm happy that Ken Griffey Jr. is not on the list along with Albert Pujols, although he very well may be a juicer.

http://sports.espn.go.com/videohub/video/video?id=4297422 I would have loved to see the argument between her and Warren Sapp! .

I'm not giving Tom Brady brownie points because he doesn't play in a dome, but there's no doubt that playing in Foxboro Stadium half of the season is a lot tougher than playing half of your season in a dome with no wind and other factors. You have to be blind to deny that, and I'm not saying that you're denying it, but it's the truth.
-
Tom Brady has NEVER made an excuse about the players on his team, where Peyton Manning has. You don't know what you are talking about It's pointless to argue with you Mason because you say things like "Peyton Manning made Marvin Harrison and Reggie Wayne", and "It's his defense's fault when they lose". Tom Brady is a better pass, and more clutch. Maybe you should watch them play. Oh, and I'm sure it doesn't help playing in a dome half the [expletive]ing season. .

That's not really a dumb comment at all.

I PM myself all of the time. I have my reasons. http://www.otrbasketball.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/cool.gif .
-
Why can't we PM ourselves?
-
Whether you want to admit it or not, when there are two players that are of the same caliber, rings do matter. Tom Brady is just flat out a better QB.
-
No, it's not a joke at all. Kobe Bryant is better than Michael Jordan. I had my whole argument on the old "OTR" site, and some saved in my PM's, and I don't feel like searching for some information again, however" 1. M.J. never won a playoff series without Scottie Pippen. 2. After Michael Jordan retired the first time, the Bulls only lost two more games. 3. His competition was far weaker than what Kobe Bryant faces. 4. He could never beat Shaq, Hakeem, or any team with a dominant Center. 5. The teams he beat were not that good, and that's just fact.

Derrick Rose' workout
EastCoastNiner replied to Multi-Billionaire's topic in Chicago Bulls Team Forum
Ughhh, that workout was not really anything special. . -
I take his two Super Bowl MVPs' one regular season MVP, and three Super Bowl rings into account as well.
-
Ughhh, duhhhh! That's also the reason Devin Harris scores a lot more.

Will Ricky Rubio Join the Wolves?

Another European [expletive]. -
If you are talking about passing statistics, no [expletive]! I already showed you the WR's he had. Ton Brady's complete body of work is greater than Peyton Manning's body of work.
-
Ughhh, no [expletive]. Tom Brady has had [expletive] WR's his entire career whereas Peyton Manning has been given a great arsenal of offensive talent on golden platter. Tom Brady with a great offense crushed Peyton Manning and his great offense in terms of stats.
-
You guys are going to look like fools when Tom Brady wins his second MVP this season. I'm not going to get started about how many MVP's Peyton Manning has because he shouldn't have won it last season, and his Super Bowl MVP was probably the biggest joke of an MVP Award that I've ever seen, seriously. Here are Tom Brady's WR's before Randy Moss and Wes Welker came and he put up RECORD stats that Peyton Manning has NEVER put up: Troy Brown, Fred Coleman, Jimmy Farris, Charles Johnson, David Patten, Deion Branch, Gavid Givens, Donald Hayes, Bethel Johnson, Dedric Ward, Kevin Kasper, Bam Childress, Andre Davis, Tim Dwight, Reche Caldwell, Jabar Gafney, and Chad Jackson. This is with an AGING Troy Brown that didn't do much in the later years. To try and use these WR's and with Peyton Mannings and try and compare stats in absolutely insane. Did you guys miss what happened when Tom Brady got some great WR's? He crushed multiple records. You need WR's to put up great offensive numbers, and Tom Brady never had that luxury that Peyton Manning has had throughout his entire career. Peyton Manning can't handle the pressure when he faces Tom Brady, and when he loses, he blame it on his O-Line. .

The Michael Jackson song is about the media. That [expletive] is gold!

What really grinds your gears?
EastCoastNiner replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in Off-Topic Discussion Forum
I can't stand people who forget to place periods at the end of their incomplete sentence. -
You are insane. First off, of the most important things for a great QB is to be able to throw the deep ball, and Tom Brady does that better than Peyton Manning. Ughhh, it seems like you want to talk about the team as a whole every time you want to make an excuse for Peyton Manning, so if you want to just talk about offenses, Peyton has had the FARRRRRR superior offense throughout his career. You know, offense is the side of the ball where QB's put up stats? Usually if you have better WR's you'll put up better stats........

Where have you traveled?
EastCoastNiner replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in Off-Topic Discussion Forum
- All of the New England states. Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Connecticut, Maine, and Vermont. - Colorado three times. - Florida 3 times. - Arizona - Utah - Wyoming - Las Vegas, Nevada - Washington D.C. - Virginia - New York - New Jersey(possibly). Out of the U.S. - Canada - Mexico(Cruise stop) - France - Peurto Rico - A bunch of places on cruises. I am hoping to add England to the list pretty soon. -
This is one of the dumbest experiments they have done for many reasons, but it's funny that Sasha Vujacic is on it. Anyways, I can't believe they called him a star, and they have the white "Smitty" on the show.
