The Brawl at the Palace of Auburn Hills
Newman replied to fish7718's topic in General NBA Discussion
That brawl ruined Reggie Miller's last chance for a championship. -
I only started this week and I got 45 too Real Deal, how come I don't get a mention as a Week 3 Winner?

Kobe is a lock for my top 10, but I don't see him in my top 5...yet. If he wins this year he would be. My top 5 are MJ, Magic, Wilt, Bill Russell and Shaq. EDIT: I am going to put Tim Duncan in front of Kobe as well because I am a big fan of the old school player. If Kobe wins this year, however, he is going to be in front of Duncan and Shaq.

NBA Unveils 2011 All-Star Game Ballot
Newman replied to AboveLegit's topic in General NBA Discussion
Okur is in and Paul Millsap isn't? They should have listed Big Al as a C so Millsap would get a spot over Okur, not that I think anyone of the 3 would get chosen by the 'fans'. -
Weird move by Billups to try and drain a deeppppp 3 with 5 seconds left and Afflalo was fouled. Andre Miller and Wes Matthews were outstanding for the Blazers though and imo they deserve their victory. Off-topic: Is LaMarcus Aldridge David Aldridge's cousin?
-
Yup. By the way, I guarantee that by the end of the season Wes Matthews won't be underrated any more.
-
I don't see why not. I'm in.
-
Wesley Matthews!!!!

Portland, along with Golden State, are the two cursed teams in the NBA at the moment.

North Carolina. Biased fan.

So I am still stuck on my decision, 3 months later... I played it briefly at a friend's house and nothing really stood out to me besides the smoother gameplay so anyone who has the game got any advice?
-
+1. Especially with a very good team like the Spurs. And serious? TP would choose that over Eva?

Lakers considering Erick Dampier as backup center
Newman replied to magicbalala245's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
^In that case, they might as well sign some bigs to 10-day contracts and let Caracter play more. EDIT: Never mind, can't sign 10-day contracts. Then I guess Dampier would be a good choice. -
Wes Matthews is officially one of my favorite players.

Lakers considering Erick Dampier as backup center
Newman replied to magicbalala245's topic in Los Angeles Lakers Team Forum
I don't think they need anyone, to be honest. Bynum will come back soon enough to rescue them and they would be better off playing Gasol and LO more minutes while using Barnes at the 4 at times. They still got Caracter too. -
I am quite worried about the Lakers' perimeter D, even with the Bucks' collapse in the second half. They got some terrific perimeter defenders as well as some average ones, but they were giving up crap loads of 3's. Good to see Ebanks getting a bit of PT, by the way.

Prince, Kuester Get Into Heated Argument
Newman replied to The Lone Granger's topic in Detroit Pistons Team Forum
The Pistons wanted to get rid of Prince anyway, but this will give them less leverage in trade talks. -
NBA Awaits Satnam From India, So Big and Athletic at 14
Newman replied to htown11's topic in International Basketball
This dude is 14? He must have a damn high body growth rate. Anyway, best of luck to him and hopefully he develop some post-up skills and other essential aspects to become a good big man before declaring for the NBA. Given his young age and how early the scouts discovered him, I am sure they can train him into becoming a good player. -
Clippers. Turns out having a terrific rookie in Blake Griffin doesn't equal to wins.
-
Source Good to see he is finally being considered by a team for a roster spot. Given his success with the Knicks' last year, I don't see why he won't have the same impact with the Suns.

Hawks Reject Thompson For Teague Offer From Kings
Newman replied to The Lone Granger's topic in Atlanta Hawks Team Forum
The Hawks would have benefit from this trade in the short-term (heck, when Marvin and Mo Evans were down, they had to start Jason Collins), but Teague is the future starting PG. -

Coaching Staff Expanding DeRozan's Role
Newman replied to Built Ford Tough's topic in Toronto Raptors Team Forum
I don't think Weems should be considered as a main player for the Raptors. He is, at best, a fourth option or a role player. If the Raptors can get some solid draft picks and hook some veterans up via free agency, they could be back in playoff contention sooner than later.
