  2. Hedo and Humprhies are tied for me. No way either guy diserves that much money.
  3. I think the idea behind this is to show how long of intervule it had been between seasons 2 and 3. If you're using a weapon every day for 6 months like it's hinted that they had been doing than you're going to get very good handling it. It's also showing that Carl is losing his innocence in this new world. I love this show and hate that it wont be on again until February.
  4. Obviously super teams are having an effect on the game, but we're also at a transition period in the NBA right now. The stars of the 00s are getting older and are unable to put up these numbers while the younger players haven't reached their ability to consistently score 20 points every night. I do think as the season wears on we'll see guys scoring averages go up again. Like mentioned with Irving and Love, there are guys hurt and what not.
  5. As a Jazz fan that is good. But as an NBA fan I'd hate it. My guess is that the Spurs will find creative ways around it. One way would be to send them out and have them commit fouls really quickly and pull them. Then just keep having them do it and blame their lack of playing time on foul trouble.
  6. Go Jazz, but I fully expect the Thunder to win by 30.
  7. Typical 4chan, but this is kind of funny. They sure got their lulz on this one.
  8. My first NBA game was some time in 1986 or 87. It was Jazz vs Lakers and Magic Johnson had a horrible shooting night but had like 20 assists and I thought he was the worst player ever.
  9. The Spurs do have the right to do what they want with their roster, and had they sent Duncan home I don't think there would have been an our cry. The issue here is that they're basically giving away a game and that hurts the league in the long run. Now, there are tons worse tanking than this done at the end of the year by the bad teams. But this kind of thing hurts the NBA's public image and than in turn hurts the bottom line. Fact is everything is about money. David Stern's job as commissioner is to see that the league operates smoothly and that the business of basketball is taken care of. But now that the presidence has been set the NBA is going to have to step up and start fining the lottery tankers for this as well.
  10. This is actually frusterating. He is worthless and the Jazz need to swollow their pride and dump him
  11. That was a fun game. Or at least the second half was, first half sucked.

  13. I normally think Stern is a jack wagon but this makes sense and I am kind of in favor of this. This just pisses off the two main sources of revenue for the league. The broadcasters who have paid billions to air the games biggest stars and the fans who pay a lot of money to see these teams play.
  14. This is a good signing because he brings the Jazz two things they really need. 1)Outside shooting. For his career he's slightly better than Korver and he's a thousand times better of a defender. 2)Veteran leadership. The Jazz went with Bell over Brewer basically because Bell can hit the outside shoot and spread the floor for Jefferson and Millsap to work in the paint. Brewer cannot do than.
  15. I don't know his name, but he was a 2nd round pick of the Blazers a few years ago, he played in the summer league for them and looked like a fish. He was the absolutely worst player I have ever seen. got hit in the face with the ball several times, and even fell down during a free throw. No one around him, wasn't flopping he just fell down.
  16. I majored in History and Political Science. So glad those days are over.
  17. Jazz got a steal here. They gave up basically nothing. That pick from Memphis is protected like crazy and I highly doubt it ever actually becomes a pick. in 2015 I believe, if it hasn't been used it becomes cash. the Jazz pick will likely be in the the 20s, and with the Jazz history of draft success, or lack there of, I am not concerned because it means one less blown draft pick for the Jazz. and Kosta Koufos sucks. Other than his Boom [expletive]es! moment he's done nothing and has shown nothing.
  18. I think the Jazz will be better. Jefferson is not as good in the pick and roll, but Paul Millsap is as good as Boozer and has had 4 years in the system. What Jefferson gives the Jazz is a back to the basket guy who can score in the paint and who has size. The Jazz actually do not run the pick and roll as much as you might think. yeah they do run it a lot, but it's not the Stockton and Malone days when they ran it 320 plays in a row. The Jazz definately have some work to do, and health of a few players is really a concern. Jefferson seemed fine the last few months of last year so his health isn't really a concern to me. D-Wills wrist is, as is AK's 40,000 different injuries, and Memo's achilles. When you break down what the Jazz lost compared to what the Jazz in this off-season I think they gained more or at least came out equal to last season. Jefferson can and will be able to replace Boozer. They are not identical players but the Jazz system is very forgiving to bigmen like Jefferson. Hayward replaces Korver and gives the Jazz so much more. A lot of people act like losing Korver was this big loss, it really wasn't. Korver is a one dimensional player, Hayward is much more. Hayward is an athlete who can shoot, drive, dribble and pass oh and play some semblance of defense and not curl up like a little girl. Raja Bell is basically what Wes Matthews will be like in 10 years. The Jazz do lose some athleticism here but gain much needed veteran leadership. The Jazz still have some filling out to do. They have 9 guys under contract and 3 guys who are under contract but do not have gaurentees. The Jazz need to add another big. I think they'll re-sign Fesenko. he sucks but he's seven foot and can clog the lane. I'd also like to see them get a better back up PG. Jazz predicted rotation: C: Jefferson/Okur/Fesenko F: Millsap/Okur/Kirilenko/Evans F:Miles/Kirilenko/Hayward/Jeffers G:Bell/Miles/Jeffers G:Williams/Price/Gains
  19. The Jazz baited Denver into a lot of the calls though. Anthony should have known not to slightly lower his shoulder after about the 2nd one of those he got. The Refs were pretty consistant on that call, I seen K-mart get one, and Boozer too, so a lot of this was on Anthony for not recognizing and adjusting. Adjusting to the refs is where I think the advantage lies for the Jazz. They have done a much better job at doing so than the Nuggets who get fusterated and stop getting back on defense.
  20. The Jazz have been playing great. I actually like this tighter rotation. Fess is actually worth something, and I had just given up hope on him completely. Koufos has been great too by Koufos standards.
  21. I'm rooting for the Jazz, kind of obvious since I am a Jazz fan.
  22. I seen that ad during game two but haven't seen it since. Kind of stupid, but whatever floats Melo's boat; I'd rather him be doing this than studying how to defend the pick and roll.
  23. Cleveland has too many weapons to impose an effective triple-team on Lebron. He isn't a great passer, but he is adequate enough to to be able to get the ball to 2 open teammates. The only way that would be effective is if Lebron turned into a greedy [expletive] and tried to prove something by taking on the doube or triple team. Cleveland has the shooters and bigs to make any team who tries that pay dearly. You're just simply not going to be able to be physical in the National Freethrow-shooting Association of 2010. You'll run out of players in the first quarter. The NBA does not give a damned about integrity or basketball, all it cares about is money and making lots of it. Great defensive battles don't make money; Lebron James scoring 40 points, weather it be going 20/40 from the free throw line or layups and dunks, does make a lot of money. Anyone foolish enough to employ this strategy will likely see their team get blownout and swept in 4 consectuvite 40 point losses and their coach fired the next day.
