  1. He wont win it every year because there will come a point where what he is doing just isn't impressive any longer. Also, Cleveland will have a few years where they don;t win 60 games or someone else will make a push for it. Think back to Jordan's days. MJ did what MJ always did and the voters got tired of it which allowed for guys like Charles Barkley and Karl Malone to grab an MVP trophy; the same thing will happen here. James will put up similar starts but someone like Kevin Durant will have a fantastic season and also win 60 games and get enough votes to dethrown Lebron.
  2. There is a difference between Pinochet and Benedict that these two are over looking. Benedict is the officially recognized head of state of the Vatican, he has head of state immunity. If the British allow this to go through they will open up a gigantic international [expletive] storm. It would also set a very bad presidence and could lead to wars. The Vatican doesn't have the military might to do anything to Britian, and I'm not sure Italy, Spain, France, Mexico or any of the other Catholic countries would do anything. But the presidence is what worries me. What we in the west call a human rights violation may not be a human rights violation in another part of the world and vice versa. For arguments sake lets say on an official state visit the Saudi's arrest the head of state of Denmark because the Saudi's are offended by the Danish Muhammed cartoons and consider that to be a human rights violation. You now have a huge international incident, and the potential for a war. Or what if on an official state visit a country like Haiti has George W. Bush arrested for the Iraq war. The US, regardly of who is in power here, simply would not tolerate that and would likely send some form of expedionary force into Haiti. This would lead to paranoia amongst world leaders, and could prevent leaders such as Kim Jong-Il(or Kim Jong-Un when he takes power) and Mahmoud Amadinajad from sitting down with world leaders to work things out.
  3. Well I am happy with the outcome. Upon seeing the replays it was a foul, but as it was happening live it was a bit difficult to see. But in the end, it works itself out because the Jazz got shafted on some bad calls through-out the game, and there was the game in OKC on New Years Eve were Ronnie Price was fouled trying to take a game winner.
  4. Good to hear the Mailman getting it, not like it was in doubt though.
  5. That's because he's not getting many wide open threes. Seriously if he is guarded he can hit them, leave him open and he hits the cameraman with the ball. He's also taking fewer of them it seems.
  6. KG's rebounding numbers may be a bit misleading. Utah forced the tempo and Boston just did not respond. Boston likes a slower pace where Utah had to get this into a run and gun game because they were getting killed in the half court. I do agree that KG is probably no longer the pinnicle PF in the NBA.
  7. The Jazz showed that they are still mentally weak. They got out of their game and started jacking up jump shots and committing fouls. Though in December this would have been a loss, so they are improving. Good win though, it helps the Jazz get up on the Nuggets in the Northwest and helps the Jazz draft position too.
  8. Kyle Korver. He misses so many wide open threes.,
  9. I think Turner will be the player who has the biggest impact. He's a solid ball handler, pretty good shooter and great at attacking the rim.
  10. - LeBron James --- Cleveland Cavaliers - Kobe Bryant --- L.A. Lakers - Dwyane Wade --- Miami Heat - Chris Bosh --- New York Knicks - Amar'e Stoudemire --- Miami Heat - Joe Johnson --- Atlanta Hawks - Many Ginobili --- San Antonio Spurs - Carlos Boozer --- Utah Jazz - David Lee --- Chicago Bulls - Rudy Gay --- Memphis Grizzlies - Tracy McGrady --- Los Angeles Lakers - Ray Allen --- Boston Celtics I have a feeling this off-season will be really anti-clamatic. Not a lot of players will move and it will be over before the WBC start.
  11. a rough estimate. 400-100 I've been to hundereds of Jazz games since the late 1980s.
  12. 1. Lakers 2. Jazz 3. Mavericks 4. Nuggets 5. Suns 6. Thunder 7. Blazers 8. Spurs
  13. Jazz got up big tha starting to slack off. Good win for the Jazz though.
  14. Midgets; I can't even look at one without getting the willies.
  15. Why is it that every time the Jazz and Rockets play Rocket fans complain about the calls yet the Rockets tend to shoot more free throws than the Jazz?
  16. If the Jazz get the #2 pick(They have a fairly good chance) I'd like to see them take Derrick Favors. From what I have seen of him he is a prototypical Jazz type forward.
  17. I think the Jazz will. They have an easier schedule than Denver and generally have been healthier than the Nuggets and Mavs. The key for Utah will be Andrei Kirilenko; he has to play at a high level like he has been every night. I think who Utah adds as their 13 player will also play a role. If they add someone like Larry Hughes or Michael Finley they should get over the top quit easily.
  18. Great win for the Jazz. first time they have won out on a 4 game road trip since 1999.
  19. I would say the Lakers. Now even healthy the Celtics have lost a step or two and the Lakers really haven't. I have no affiliation with either team, though I do consider myself a Lakerhater.
  20. Actually reports are that Deron doesn't really like Boozer all that much and tried to get the Jazz to trade him to Toronto last year but the Raptors laughed at the Jazz. I also think Deron is speaking mostly out of emotion. He probably is fusterated because the ownership just said that they weren't going to make any more financial trades. But there is also a basketball side to this deal as well. The Jazz were not going to be able to re-sign Brewer and Wesley Mathews in the off-season. Mathews gives the Jazz more options than Brewer so at least the Jazz got a pick out of the whole thing. Three years is a long time in the NBA, and by than the Jazz can restructure some of their financial issues and still be winning. My guess is this has no baring on his future in Utah.
  21. I am generally for it and think it should be raised. It allows players to enter the NBA and make an impact. Look how long it's taken for guys like Blatch and Perkins to become impactful on good NBA teams. Even Kobe took a few years before he was anything but a role player. However, if it's a sticking point in the new CBA agreements than I'd rather see some 18 year old playing NBA basketball than no NBA basketball at all.
  22. I seen both the good and the bad of these give up deals. The good is that it does allow these teams to rebuild much faster. Washington is going nowhere with Jamison, Butler and Arenas. So retooling is a smart idea. The bad is, the same teams with rich owners are the only ones who get these deals.
  23. Jazz probably would have faired better had Kobe played. The Lakers size is what kills the Jazz every time.
