  1. Trae is finally starting to win me over. At first I wasn't a big fan because of his voice. Sounds stupid, but guys like Bun B, Pimp C, and Curren$y really got me listening to them because they had a fitting voice. Trae's voice is so damn deep and raspy.
  2. I'm looking forward to college basketball already. There are a lot of very talented teams scattered all around the country, and after the Arizona game and the addition of Adonis Thomas, I can confidently say Memphis basketball is back. The talent pool for next year is ridiculous.
  3. None whatsoever any more. Unless a prodigy high school prospect comes out in the next couple seasons, I don't see anyone challenge him as the best player in the league.
  4. Having spent an extended period of time in both, I couldn't agree more. I can't stand it.
  5. It's a regular season award, and Rose had the regular season most deserving for the award. Dirk won the year his No. 1 seeded Mavs lost to an eight seed. He still deserved to win that season.
  6. I would be lying if I told you I'm not angry for seeing the Heat meet any sort of success. After this series, I truly can't stand LeBron or the complete disregard by NBA referees to call or not call fouls on a consistent basis or even a couple travels for shits sake. With that said, the Heat got hot (no pun intended) at the right time and learned to play as a team when it mattered. This will be the first of many NBA Finals appearances for this team, and they are a couple of role players away from becoming a dynasty. LeBron, even after all his whining and his arrogance, is bar none the best player in the NBA and no one will come close to him in the next decade. As a fan of a small market team, who will never dream of seeing my team hit the lottery in free agency, I'm upset with the outcome, but I have to face the facts. The Heat are damn good and here to stay.
  7. Welcome to the deep south everyday. It may be 80 in Memphis, but it feels like 90. In July and August there are days where the "feels like" meter is 117 or more.
  8. Fashawn and J. Cole are my favorite young artists from a lyrical standpoint, even though Fashawn rarely releases anything anymore. Curren$y may be my favorite MC though.
  9. I like Odd Future, but I can't get Frank Ocean's music/style to grow on me.
  10. Good decision. I would struggle to give up Gay for the first pick. I'm not even a HUGE Rudy Gay fan, but I don't even think Irving or anyone else in the draft is going to live up to be a superstar (and I don't think Gay is either, but it's not worth the risk).
  11. Beats are annoying after a while. I've never owned them, but I used a teammate of mine's on a long bus trip. Bass sounds cool at first but it gets annoying after a while, especially if you listen to music other than rap. They also run on batteries and are around $300-$400 dollars. My dad has some Sennheisers that he bought seven years ago for less than $100 and the sound quality is better than Beats. They just don't look as cool.
  12. Haha I ended school two weeks ago, and started August 10th.
  13. Skullcandies and Beats are eye candy more than anything. I had some Skullcandies and they lasted two months, and Beats aren't worth the money.
  14. I have mixed feelings. The team's turnout without Gay surprised the hell out of me, and proved to me the Grizzlies could be a winning team without him. With that said, the Grizzlies have no body that can bring that skill set, an athletic player that can shoot the three, and bring 20 points consistently every night. I think the Grizzlies should experiment with this. A fully healthy, confident Grizzlies team has the potential to be a Western Conference Finalist with some luck here and there.
  15. Graduated high school yesterday. It's pretty amazing how quickly four years of high school just speed by. I'm excited for the next four years though.
  16. Portability isn't really a big deal. I just want something to plug into my iPod and listen to in my dorm room next year. I couldn't really tell you what I listen to because I listen to a wide variety of music. I don't want them to be like Beats though because those can basically only be used for rap and the bass gets annoying after a while. And I also want to avoid having others listen to what I'm listening to.
  17. Does anyone remember that hip hop fan? I think his name was HipHopHead. I think he's in the discussion for biggest troll. He was knowledgeable in hip hop topics though.
  18. Vin Diesel and The Rock are the best actors of all time.
  19. Guards go to the line often through penetration and looking for contact. Big men often go to the line through "hack-a-Shaq" tactics by opposing teams.
  20. Grizzlies are getting embarrassed. I stated before the game that the winner of this game takes the series and I'll stand behind that
  21. My thoughts exactly. With the NBA's current situation where a big market team can go from a lottory team to a contender in the span of free agency, New York, the Nets, and others can easily put themselves in the equation.
  22. I'm ready to go all out for my next headphone purchase I'm tired of shitty earbuds that last me three or four months. For a long time I was on the Bose and Beats bandwagon, but now that I've looked at reviews, I'm not even considering them. I'm looking at possibly getting some Sennheisers for under 200. It's one of the best reviewed brands I've seen. Any recommendations?
  23. I got my housing reservation notice yesterday for Memphis. I was worried because most freshman get Richardson Towers, which is a nine story tall building and all the people who have stayed there talked about how old, dirty, and miserable they were. Luckily, I got South Hall, which is probably the third best set of dorms after the honors college dorms and the on-campus apartments. It's probably the best set of dorms available to non-honors freshman. The only negative of South is that it's a little further away than the other dorms, but it's right next to the Rec Center and it's are pretty new.
  24. Allen finished forth in defensive player of the year standings, and has shown that he can guard just about any guard in the NBA, and also give forwards, like Kevin Durant, a tough time. I definitely think he deserved to be first team over Bryant.
  25. I missed the game, but I listened to the second half and overtime on the radio. Pretty amazing comeback. I don't think the Grizzlies are as talented as the Thunder, but they're beating them with just better heart..
