How come?

Lots of things in life are a waste of money. Going to the movies is a waste of money. Driving a car is a waste of money but you choose to what you enjoy. As for addiction...anything can become an addiction. It's the person tha controls what an addiction is quite frankly.

The game feels like it's being made for kids to get their parents to spend money on it. With HUT, goalie fights and now the legends, it's aimed at a much younger crowd while leaving Be A GM pretty much untouched. For a kid the modes don't have to be complicated as most add superstars to their team but I enjoy a more realistic experince in free agency and even the draft. I hear that the goal scoring stats have been improved and mostly the Crosbys and Ovys are leading the league in points but to add such little improvement over 11 is pure lazy. I really hope they are just waiting for '13 when 2K is back in the market and though I've never purchased a 2K hockey game, I might just do to the fact it's pointless spending money on roster updates.

I think Rick Nash could easily be at the top in points now that he's with Jeff Carter. Also Corey Perry might be close too. He had 98 points with Ryan missing 20 games.

Goalies are one of the hardest positions to rank because they rely on hot streaks and defensemen. Craig Anderson can enter beast mode with horrible defense but yet he still wouldn't be a superstar on a team like Boston. Heck look at what Halak did with horrible defense and he got paid and still manages to steal games but if your not in the playoffs then you won't have a playoff team. I'm not a huge Miller fan but he seems pretty consistant compared to guys like Thomas, Price and Rinne. Same thing can be said for Lundqvist as all it takes is a great hot streak come playoff time and you find yourself with a ring.

The East is going to be crazy. I can see the Devils being a surprise team this year and even the Hurricanes could move up close to the top.

If OTR has a twitter, whoever runs that should be looking for players to snag for interviews. Looks more professional rather than from somebodies personal twitter.

Just ordered the NCAA Football 12 while signing up for SI. $50 for a game and a year of magazines? Can't beat that as I'm gonna use NCAA to trade in for COD once it comes out.

I'll start writing again pretty soon. Just waiting for everything to be ready so I can just have a night to relax and write.

Been playing it for a couple days now. I haven't boughten a Madden since '07 or '08 but been playing NCAA Football 11 none stop for awhile. My thoughts are that the franchise mode is pretty neat. Contracts are cool and the expanded roster is neat but haven't gotten into it too much till I get the draft classes. Some things are missing like coaches and practise squads along with the lack of created team logos which really hurts the game for me as I enjoy moving the Bills to Montreal but must use lackluster logos and simple stadium designs. Other things that bug me that I also may have missed is change of uniforms and how in practises during NCAA how the defense just touches the QB, but while in Madden I'm leveled like it is the Packers vs the Bears. Also heard abou something that affects the PS3 graphics which I can kinda tell but haven't played the game recently to notice. Overall it's a good game but thought I'd be seeing more improvements after taking a couple years off.

Same thing I said about NHL 11 when I first played it minus the knocking the goalies over.

Went in for an oil change and came out with a $380 bill, work got cancelled for tomorrow and the bank machine I need to deposit my checks into to pay my bills is broken. Called the video store to see if NCAA Football was there, they said yes so I drove out of my way there and they couldn't find it and on top of all this my bitch won't come down tonight, The rest of my day is now dedicated to smoking.

Most teams yes but all on the same time zone so it doesn't really affect me.

Of course but that is the negative way of thinking. I can only see positives about it until he's playing in another NBA jersey.

Nets are doing a great job keeping in contact with Deron. It hurts not having him here this year for our chances but once he comes back he will see the progress in Brooklyn and hopefully a better roster as well.

I hope they get a young coach to grow with these guys. The past ten years we've had very limited talent but there is no excuse for missing the next Olympics after this as we should not be losing to the teams they have been losing to in the past. Triano was let go because of the lack of talent but I wouldn't want to see him back either. I really just hope with a new coach comes a new change of pretty much everything and they start putting more funding or something into Canada Basketball.

Heard that if an NHL plane crashes, they hold a fantasy draft in the offseason where the team can pick none protected players from other teams to create a new team. Not that I'd ever want an entire team to die but would be neat to watch a fantasy draft.

Ruslan Salei was a favourite of mine growing up and I was rooting for Brad MC to get he Grand Rapids job this summer and they both went to Russia together. Horrible news.

The reason it is tolerated is because it is hockey. Yes it is violent but when you compare it to sports like boxing and MMA, you realize it's just an aspect of the sport that has been around for years. Nobody has to fight but some players it's their jobs. The NHL should be looking into more programs to deal with life after hockey and such because soon it won't only be fighters, as players like Marc Savard are pretty much [expletive]ed for the rest of their lives.

Big comeback win for Syracuse against Wake Forest. Bailey looks great as a starter.
