  1. Well, you can thank that cheap POS Mike Komisarek for getting him pissed off. Carcillo has at least 3 Maple Leafs with their panties in a bunch so he is doing his job well.
  2. FYI, I hate Boston 1000x more than I hate Montreal. I am just calling it as I see it. Also, you need to stop jumping to conclusions just because Pacioretty was "under Chara's skin". Chara has been in the NHL for almost 15 seasons and has had more altercations than the human brain can process, yet he has always maintained a rep as a clean player. I would say that fact counts for way more than your blind assumptions. This is not Dan Carcillo, Sean Avery, Trevor Gillies, or Chris Pronger etc here.
  3. This is in the realm of sport. Vicious hits and fights happen all the time. Discipline is the league's discretion. We criticize the NHL all the time, but they are far more qualified to determine clean from dirty on a hockey rink than the police. Government needs to stay out of it. There are so many problems with the world right now, go tackle one of them, stop trying to appease bitter Canadiens fans.
  4. Really can't believe the police is "investigating". Give me a break, find something productive to do.
  5. Probably not well, considering who the potential opponents are. Fine with me though, this season is a rousing success either way.
  6. Also, can't have a shot clock violation when you are trying to put the game away. Can't happen.
  7. This should have been over in regulation. Durant should not have gotten a chance to tie it. So many phantom fouls going OKC's way at the end. Sixers should have gotten to get to the line and put it away. Once this went to OT I knew there was no chance. Huge [expletive]ing let down.
  8. FYI ECN the Randy Jones hit wasn't dirty either!
  9. Can't we just all agree that this would be a hell of a first round matchup?
  10. Probably around 2. That's what I expected, anyway. Believe it or not, stuff like this happens all the time (well, people don't break their necks all the time, but there are scary hits all the time). It's the unfortunate part of hockey, but the game is so fast and so physical. Believe it or not, the Chara hit was not even the dirtiest play of last night: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOTRbzo2qTk <_< Because of the Chara hit, nobody is talking about this, but Smid is probably facing a suspension for that. When you can see a guy in a vulnerable position facing the boards like that and you still drive him in head first, that's about as dirty as it gets.
  11. Also, somebody made a good point just now on Twitter. David Steckel's interference of Sidney Crosby probably ended Crosby's season, but there was no suspension there. Hockey play gone wrong, basically. They called the interference penalty on the ice, as they should have, but I am happy Chara wasn't punished just because of the severity of the injury.
  12. Side note: Bruins/Habs first round of the playoffs. Pleaseeeee make it happen.
  13. No fine/suspension. The cars are already on fire in Montreal.
  14. Also I was just looking into it. While each arena seems to have that little area ("stanchion" or w/e) between the benches (most have some form of plexiglass enclosure), it looks like Bell Centre's is by far the most dangerous. In most buildings, there is a bit of space between the playing surface and where the glass is. At Bell Centre, the glass is literally right on top of the playing surface. Also there is another piece of glass running parallel to the benches at Bell Centre because there is a tunnel behind it, so it's basically a full glass box. Because of that, I am guessing the area Pacioretty hit had way less "give" than it would have had in another arena. But that's just a guess, I really have no idea about the physics of it.
  15. Equally funny reading what Canadiens fans are saying, to be totally honest.
  16. I agree on one thing...the still frame is stupid. Really shows nothing. You have to watch the full video to get the entire picture. Only because of the "history" between these two, and because the NHL will want to stay consistent with other similar plays in the past, I will predict a 2 game suspension, but in actuality, it could be less (this coming from somebody who likes the Bruins and Canadiens equally). Other predictions?
  17. FYI, severe concussion and broken vertebrae for Pacioretty.
  18. Actually nevermind, you are right. Well, it's a much different setup, but there is plexiglass in there separating the benches. Honestly have never noticed it before. Probably because Bell Centre also has glass facing the ice making it more noticeable there.
  19. I don't see how it's funny. That design is incredibly dangerous, and to my knowledge Montreal is the only rink in the NHL built like that.. Sad that we need to see somebody get hurt like this for everyone to notice.
  20. After thinking about this, I tend to agree with the people who say it was reckless but without intent to injure. So, I could see a 1 game suspension, maybe. But yes, at the end of the day Chara should not be held responsible for the idiot who designed that rink. Surprised that doesn't happen more often, and you have to think they will re-do that in the offseason. If this hit is anywhere else on the ice, Pacioretty gets right up and the game goes on and there probably isn't even a penalty called.
  21. Universe, ECN....take your corners. Make it a clean fight. And.....go.
  22. Zack Greinke broke his rib playing basketball. Oof.
