So, some people are saying that Mike Vick has not arrived at the field yet. Was supposed to be there over an hour ago. Interesting. I can totally picture one of his teammates calling to ask where he is, and he responding with "oh [expletive], we are playing on Thursday this week?". But really, I wonder what's up.

I am sure he will. Just pointing out that a lot of guys who have been used to playing the field and keeping their minds constantly occupied legitimately have trouble adjusting to the DH role.

Yeah I am sure he will be pressured to DH whether Konerko is there or not. And once he gets used to it I'm sure he will be fine.

I think he was pretty sincere. A lot of guys legitimately hate DHing and can't do it. But for $56 million, I'd do whatever the hell they tell me to do.

He was a free agent. There was a lot of talk about the White Sox wanting him at the trade deadline, so now they finally get him. The interesting part is that he supposedly does not want to DH, and the White Sox are also supposedly intent on bringing back Paul Konerko.

The long time Sixers beat writer for the Philadelphia Daily News is now in hospice, apparently about to lose his battle with cancer. Not sure how many of you have ever read his work or know who he is, but if you have ever posted a link on OTR to a Sixers story, there's a good chance you have posted some of Jasner's work. The Philadelphia sports media scene is about to lose a great one. Very sad.

The threats of violence from Cleveland fans are just silly. My dislike for LeBron James is as strong as anybody's, I think he is incredibly out of touch with reality and is a douche bag with a huge ego, but this is one of those times when you have to say "it's just a game". I would love to see the Cleveland fans tear him a new one, but I hope they do not go over the top. Either way, it will be great television.

Actually don't think the Berkman-to-Rockies thing is official yet. Troy Renck jumped the gun by reporting it yesterday. Anyway, today is non-tender day. Perhaps the biggest day of the Phillies offseason.

They have always kinda been like this, it's just not too noticeable since they have a somewhat limited budget. Denny Neagle, Todd Helton, Mike Hampton, now Tulo, etc. I doubt they will be paying Berkman much though.
