  1. Of course he shouldn't be surprised. This team is a mess, nobody should be surprised to be moved. Him especially since he probably has the most value to a team looking for one final piece to put them over the top.
  2. No argument on any of that, really. The biggest issue with the offense is that it is so damn inconsistent. Surprisingly large amount of talented scorers, but they also all have pretty large holes in their game. Also, I'll be honest, I did not watch much more than half of this game. Not sure what the deal with Elton Brand was tonight, perhaps he just had a bad game, but he has been one of the only bright spots this season. Physically he has looked as good as he ever has with the Sixers. But like the rest of the team, he is rather inconsistent. Iggy is kind of infuriating sometimes. He is the number one option by default, although he is not good enough to be a true number one option.. I feel like sometimes he takes this to heart and tries to do too much. I really think he'd be awesome on a team like the Lakers or Celtics, where he doesn't feel pressured to carry to the team. As for Spencer Hawes, I have found him to be completely horrible in every phase of the game. He is just a waste of space. Epitome of a guy getting drafted high because of his size and little else. I want him off of the team. Problem is, there aren't many better options. I guess I'd rather give Marreese Speights more minutes, but he only plays defense when he wants to. And Tony Battie is definitely too old to carry the load. With Meeks, I have no clue why he hasn't played more. I've been asking the same question myself. Same deal with Craig Brackins (although I don't think he played at all tonight). This season is already lost, so give the young guys a shot.
  3. The offense isn't that terrible. It is the defense that is horrendous. This is the best defensive effort of the season bar-none. And they will still wind up losing by 15-20, go figure, haha. All in all, a horrendous team, but they can score in spurts.
  4. Hey Sixers....lets see this same effort tomorrow night against the Nets. Then I will be impressed.
  5. Elton Brand is not out. It was just a one game suspension.
  6. National Hockey League: Making up the rulebook on the fly since 2004. Disgraceful. Hopefully the Flyers don't wind up needing that point at the end of the season. And no, to anybody who wishes to reference the non-existent "Sean Avery rule", you are wrong. This could not be farther from it.
  7. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/11/stark-on-tigers-angels-werth-rangers.html So, Kingfish, what are your thoughts on the Angels attempting to buy a championship?
  8. Hey everyone guess what. The Sixers SUCK! Also, I am DRUNK. Or else I might be more pissed about the Sixers being such an incompetent waste of a basketball franchise.
  9. For a while, it looked like I might be close!
  10. http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g96/philsphan1210/Picture1-24.png Cool, now we will probably lose to Toronto by 45 instead of 30.
  11. With the SABR movement of the past 5 years, there now are basically two definitions of "value". There is the SABR side, which says that team performance is absolutely no factor. Each player has a specific "value", and that value does not change whether they play for the Yankees or the Pirates. Basically, the idea that a $20 bill is worth $20 whether it is possessed by Bill Gates or me. There is also the more traditional, non-SABR idea that a player's value, especially when it comes to this award, depends on how important they are to their individual team. Personally, I see both sides of this. As long as there is no clear definition of "value" attached to the MVP award, there will always be disagreement/bickering among voters and fans.
  12. Ugh c'mon Fish you were doing SO well until you brought up RBIs.
  13. And both featured epic choke jobs. At least the Sixers make it interesting when they blow it.
  14. Any team that doesn't beat the Sixers by 30 should be ashamed.
  15. Also, Marreese Speights needs to be the starting center. Just ditch the Spencer Hawes experiment already.
  16. Hopefully Tony Dungy finds a coaching job, just so his holier-than-thou [expletive] isn't on my TV every Sunday night.
  17. And Aubrey Huff signs a 2 year deal with the Giants.
  18. Victor Martinez. Tigers. 4 years $50 million. Not a surprise.
  19. Would have loved to have been a fly on the wall in the first intermission for Lavy's speech. As horrible as they were in the first period, that's how good they were in the second and third. Great win.
