  1. I got the impression from the start that the Flyers weren't crazy about Guerin. He was apparently skating at the practice facility all summer, and they didn't offer him a PTO until basically the last minute. I just never really got a good vibe about it, although I thought he'd definitely make the team once Lappy started having his post-concussion stuff. I hear Ray is going to try to make a comeback at some point this year. Not sure who would take a chance on him, I have read that his hip condition will probably be with him for the rest of his life.
  2. Bill Guerin released from PTO. Andreas Nodl makes team as last forward. Would have been nice to have Guerin around for leadership, power play, all that good stuff, but I understand the decision. Without a clear-cut top goalie (unless Bobrovsky gets a chance and wins the job), the Flyers are putting a heavy emphasis on defense, and Nodl is IMO one of the better defensive forwards in the organization. Also, Bobrovsky makes the team due to Leighton's injury. I am wondering how much he will play. Honestly I'd let him play as much as possible. We already know that Brian Boucher is the epitome of a backup goaltender, so why not let Bob get a chance to prove he's worth the hype.
  3. Whatever you want to do. I think last year we had a thread for each series, and it seemed to work. Doesn't matter who makes them I guess.
  4. And the matchups are set.... Rays-Rangers Twins-Yankees Phillies-Reds Giants-Braves Wednesday needs to get here like, right now.
  5. Yep. And that BS roughing the passer call earlier killed all kinds of momentum. And of course the whole play clock incident at the end of the first half, but I am more inclined to blame Andy for that.
  6. Nothing against Jason Heyward, but I'd be voting Buster Posey for NLROY if I had a choice. He probably just ended this NL playoff discussion.
  7. I dunno. Again, I can't blame him for today when the rest of the team is beyond pitiful. Kolb has gotten next to no chance to prove himself, so I don't think it's particularly fair to rush to judgement. Will he wind up being good? Who knows, I just don't see enough of a sample size to decide yet. He looks pretty overmatched right now, but I'd like him to get a significant amount of time to prove himself. Also, the officials suck even worse than the Eagles today. Wow.
  8. Not getting started with this again. Whatever. This team is pretty bad as a whole, though.
  9. I am not sure how he could possibly be blamed for this game. The defense can't tackle, the o-line is horrendous, his receivers are dropping passes thrown right at their chests, the kickoff/punt return coverage is horrible, and there are dumb penalties on both sides of the ball. And the sample size with Kolb is way too small to make any kind of judgement.
  10. [expletive] this team. Thank god the MLB playoffs are starting, and NHL/NBA seasons are right around the corner.
  11. This team is bad enough as it is. Last thing we need is for the zebras to [expletive] us in the [expletive] too.
  12. And Shady goes down. Well, that's nice. Also, so sick of [expletive]ing injury commercial breaks. $$$ is ruining sports.
  13. Is there a more overrated player in the league than Jason Peters? Good lord.
  14. Already a blown call in the SDG/SFG game. Jeez
  15. Standing O for Donovan. A nice middle finger in the direction of the national media. Now, onto the real matter at hand...the game.
  16. This makes me laugh. FOX cameras showed McNabb coming out to the field to warmups and even picked up someone screaming "WE LOVE YOU DONOVAN!!!!", yet they start talking about boos right away. Just goes to show that the national media wants the rest of the country to believe he is hated here. They need a BS story to talk about.
  17. If the Phillies win (looking unlikely now) and Padres win, then the Braves are eliminated, and the Giants and Padres would be tied for the NL West. There would be no tie-breaker game since the Giants and Padres would both be in the postseason anyway, so due to head-to-head record, the Padres would win the division and the Giants would get the wild card. If the Phillies win and Giants win, the Giants get the NL West, and the Padres and Braves would play a one game playoff tomorrow in Atlanta for the Wild Card. If the Braves and Giants win, the Giants win the NL West and the Braves win the wild card, and the Padres are eliminated. If the Braves and Padres win, then we have by far the coolest scenario. There would be a 3-way tie between the Giants, Padres and Braves. The Giants and Padres would play a one-game playoff tomorrow in San Diego, winner takes NL West and loser flies to Atlanta to play the Braves in a one-game playoff for the wild card on Tuesday. I think that covers basically everything.
  18. Holy [expletive], the Tomahawk Chop is super annoying. It was nice not having to hear it much until today.
  19. Yeah, they typically introduce the offense or defense individually. Today, the Redskins offense will be introduced individually.
  20. Also, for those who care about this sort of thing, McNabb got a nice round of applause when he took the field for warmups. Granted, only a few thousand in the stadium at this point, but yes. Those who will boo are still out in the parking lot getting [expletive] faced.
