It depends on the pitcher/batter. Now-a-days, with all the video and scouting reports, the batters have a pretty good idea what the pitcher is going to throw, but I'm sure there is a comfort level against guys they have faced before. I think good pitching always beats good hitting, so definitely advantage pitcher in that situation.

Personally I am still against full instant replay. I just think it's ridiculous that you have six umpires on the field and not one of them got that call right. It was clear as day on standard-def TV.

I don't get how a pitcher can do a total 180 after a midseason trade like Kerry Wood did. I mean I get the whole change of scenery/pitching coach/whatever thing, but he is LITERALLY night and day from Cleveland to now.

Ian Laperriere is done for the season and probably his career. So sad. He rushed back from his concussion to play in the finals last year, and that may have been what ended his career.
