Such a [expletive]in annoying game. Not saying the Phillies played particularly well, but every ball the Phillies hit hard, a Cub made a ridiculous play or it was right at someone, and the Cubs scored their runs on some of the cheapest hits I have ever seen. By far the most frustrating game of the season.

Also, my friend took this video of one of the "Ole" chants at the game. Kind of funny. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=y_WDOHBqwSE&feature=player_embedded

They are negotiating with Doug Collins. Looks like he will be the guy.

I do not understand the people complaining about the past two episodes. Like, really, what the hell are people expecting to see? They are getting tons of answers.

It did a great job setting up for Sunday, I thought.

I am excited for Sunday.

Blah. Roy Halladay pitches a complete game but gets the L. Matchups for Cubs series: Tomorrow: Tom Gorzelanny vs. Jamie Moyer Thursday: Ryan Dempster vs. Joe Blanton

So weird seeing a goalie steal a game for the Flyers. So so weird. I was at a sports bar watching with Fly3rs and co., so it was kind of difficult to watch closely, but based on what I saw and what I am reading now, the Flyers need to be better in game 3.

Felix Hernandez will throw a no hitter tonight vs OAK

Just like the Mariners are going to "win the AL West easily (with or without Cliff Lee)"? -
I wonder if the Carolina Hurricanes are enjoying this, 5-ish months after placing Michael Leighton on waivers. Granted, they have Cam Ward, but still. Also, I hope Hal Gill enjoyed that nice dose of karma served to him by Danny Briere.

Hell yes. Save for a Phillies loss to the Pirates, this was an amazing night. Flyers go up 2-0, Sixers get the #2 pick...not too bad.

Tonight's shirts. Awesome. http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g96/philsphan1210/102382126.jpg

Ian Laperriere will be back by game 4 apparently. No official word on Jeff Carter as of now.

It would be exactly the same deal here if a Philadelphia athlete did that. I can understand why they were upset. Some professional athletes just lack any ounce of common sense.

I don't know about the first part of your statement. Every time an incident comes up here (like the 2 we've had already at Phillies games this year), ESPN starts trashing Philadelphia, and those of us fans who are sick of that reputation start defending it. I agree with you from the 2nd sentence on. Really, every city has idiots, and in cities that are passionate about sports, stupid, unnecessary [expletive] will happen at games. But anywho, I digress. About Jeff Carter....I would not bring him back as long as the team keeps winning. If Montreal takes the lead in the series, I'd bring him back. Otherwise, hold off until the finals. No reason to A) [expletive] with the team chemistry, or B) put him out there at 60 or 70%. Wait til he's fully healthy. Only reason to rush him back is if they lose a couple games in a row.

ECN is right that Philadelphia fans get trashed because of this long-standing reputation. But yes, anybody who has been to games in multiple cities knows that it's no different in New York, Boston, Chicago, and in the case of the NHL, Montreal (probably missing a handful). Also (and this is just a random observation, has nothing to do with anything that happened at the game last night and is not condoning the behavior of any Flyers fans), Canadiens fans BY FAR start more [expletive] than any other visiting fans I have seen at Flyers games. Isn't even close.

He was awesome. The Holy Diver video is one of my favorites. RIP.

Wow, 10 year deal for Nicklas Backstrom. $67 million.
-
Jeff Carter will be back within a game or 2. Wow.

What a great day. Flyers win, Phillies finish sweep of Brewers. Also, word is that Jimmy Rollins will be activated from the DL tomorrow. Matchups for Pirates series: Tomorrow: Charlie Morton vs. Kyle Kendrick Tuesday: Zach Duke vs. Roy Halladay

Eric Byrnes first hit home run Dutch Goose softball team Menlo Park

It is not really Joe Buck's job to analyze what's happening on the field. -

Unfortunately that is the only reason he has his job. Seems like the only qualifications for being an analyst these days are a decent former playing career and a slightly soothing voice. -

Joe Morgan is bar none the worst analyst I have ever heard, in any sport. -

He has a future on TV for sure. Hell, can he just replace Joe Morgan on Sunday Night Baseball now? -
I am laughing at the idea of you potentially starting [expletive] with Bruins fans . But in fairness, I can't imagine Flyers fans would have been too happy if they were the ones who blew a 3-0 series lead, and a 3-0 lead in game 7 at home. But I agree, every passionate sports city has nut jobs.
