Phillies lose 2-1...Roy Halladay walks the opposing pitcher, leading to the first run, and a Jimmy Rollins error leads to the second run. Baseball is a weird game sometimes. This team's approach at the plate is so painful to watch. We get the top two hitters in our lineup up in the 9th inning with a runner on base against a pitcher notorious for control problems, and with no command tonight. They see a combined 4 pitches. That totally can't happen.

Phillies gave it to them. Horrible fundamentals. Can't lose a game when your starting pitcher outduels Josh Johnson. Pretty disappointing.

Note to Phillies: Don't swing at this garbage Nunez is throwing...

I really love complete game losses. More than anything else in the world, really. Especially when the deciding run is unearned. So awesome.

Chase Utley begins his formal rehab assignment tonight after raking in extended spring training the past few days. May be back in a week or less. It will certainly be nice to go from absolutely no production out of 2B to some of the best 2B production in the league. Also, Dom Brown needs to be re-called from AAA. Raul Ibanez is out of gas. Not sure what the hold-up is.

Fielding percentage

Utley and Brown need to come back, and Ibanez needs to lose a significant amount of the at-bats he currently gets. These three things happening will make the offense immediately better.

Not that we would have won anyway, but Danys Baez is [expletive]ing awful. The Phillies need to bite the bullet and release this guy. Admit you [expletive]ed up giving him a multi year deal, and pay his ass to go somewhere else. So #1 on my "Phillies who need to be removed from the roster in one way or another" (Baez) made his mark tonight, and #2 (Kyle Kendrick) gets the start tomorrow night with Oswalt going on the DL. Loss, Oswalt DL, and Flyers eliminated. Just waiting for Jrue Holiday and Desean Jackson to announce their retirements to make tonight complete.
