22 minor penalties. Absurd amount. But I will take the win.

Lou Williams and Jodie Meeks each get decent looks from 3, and who winds up eventually taking the shot? Iguodala..of course. Hate that. Either way, it was a hell of a fight Sixers.

2 game suspension for Bobby Ryan...
-
14 minutes, 6 goals, 6 penalties, 1 fight, and 1 "goal" came nowhere close to the inside of the net (Dan O'Rourke fail).

Win or lose, I love this team...

Guess I should get used to the Heat getting the benefit of every single call. Also, Andres Nocioni is now in the game. Good starts typically head down the toilet when he enters.
-
I know this will not last, so I will just enjoy this for now.

I am the most biased, homer-ific Philadelphia fan you will find, and even I will be pleasantly surprised if this series gets to game 5. With that said, lets go do something historic boys.

Baez is awful. I take back everything I said the other day.
-
I thought they'd call up Schenn. Doesn't look like it, though.

These two are always entertaining as hell: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=29RnVPXOyAQ&feature=player_embedded#at=36

I did not see the game because of work so I don't really want to comment, but the result is literally exactly what I figured would happen.

My new job has completely ruined this time of the sports year. Tonight, I have to work during the Flyers game. And later in the week, I'll be able to see the early games, but I will need to get to sleep early-ish for the days I need to be at work at 6AM. So, no west coast games for me. Pretty shitty.

Let Rayzor play.
-
No Pronger (no surprise) or Zherdev (slight surprise) tonight.
-
Even if we were playing at full strength, one victory would be a surprise. Without Lou, and with Andre on one knee, it will be more difficult, obviously.

Overtime playoff hockey. Nothing better. Also...thinking of starting individual threads for each series. Worth it or no?
-
Also, this will be VERY interesting since he already has 107 pitches. He blew his elbow out a few years ago in the exact same situation. I would not want to be Edwin Rodriguez right now.
-
If Josh Johnson throws a no-hitter in Atlanta and nobody is there to see it, did it actually happen? (Sorry Cobb!)
-
Yep...they can't get bailed out by the shootout in the playoffs! But I am a bit hesitant to count them out. I expected them to fall apart down the stretch of the regular season, and they didn't. I am also not completely sold on Tampa as a solid playoff team because of their defense. But we will see. Anyway, here is to one of the greatest parts of the sports year. Happy playoffs!

Kobe Under Review for "Homophobic" rant.

It doesn't matter what his intent was. -
Kobe Under Review for "Homophobic" rant.

As harsh as the penalty is, what Kobe said is incredibly dumb and offensive. I don't care how often it gets said away from the camera or how often some of you say it. Not saying I'd have given a $100K fine if it was up to me, but maybe this will get people to think before making homophobic remarks in the future. -

Wow...$100K is harsh. But when you are a high profile celebrity, and you get caught saying something like this on camera, you have to expect to catch hell for it. -
Gah, the asshole Phillie fans in DC booing Werth are embarrassing. Amazes me how little perspective these folks have. The Phillies paid him a little more than $12 million over 4 years, and got (arguably--rough estimate) $50 million of value. Be just a little bit grateful. Similarly, I'd like to see these people say with a straight face that they'd turn their backs on $35 million (or whatever the difference between the Nationals and Phillies offers were).
