  1. http://online.wsj.com/article/SB10001424052748703280904576246640754493456.html?mod=e2tw In all seriousness I do view this as a good deal for Liverpool. Lebron doesn't own much of the team so if any damage were to result out of this it would minimal. I can see Lebron doing well as a recruiter for the team in the NBA offseason, which happens to be during the same time the transfer window opens up.
  2. What is with all the budget cuts? Hard to believe the state is that poor because the economy is pretty solid here.

  3. Does anyone else remember the late 90's - early 2000's era? I do and Vince Carter was among a small group of players that made those dark times (lack of overall talent, stars from 90's retiring, etc) bearable. Vince Carter was the poster child for that small time frame and that impact alone should get him in the Hall of Fame. I do agree with AL that Vince isn't Hall of Fame quality but his impact is going to be enough to sneak him him, not right away but eventually.
  4. Thank God. I didn't think there was any questions as to whether Irving would declare but its nice to hear some good news for once.
  5. Eh I debated with myself for a good 10-15 minutes and then finally settled on Rondo over Westbrook. It would be an outrage if none of the Celtics made at least the third team anyways.
  6. With Thabeet's contract, we won't have enough to overpay Marc unless we can work out a sign and trade scenario. Same goes for Nene, who I think will end up resigning with Denver. 1. Would love to see that but Philly seems intent on keeping Iggy, I would do that kind of deal (minus Scola and add more youth) for Granger like I posted above. 2A. Eh I don't know enough about this guy so I can't comment. 2B. Dalembert sucks, he's a good shotblocker but his post up defense isn't all that and even the Kings don't seem to want him around any longer. Then again beggars can't be choosers. See above for Nene/Gasol 3. Please do. Like a healthy Yao Ming? I'm sure we could have cracked 50 wins with him and the same goes for any one of Gasol or Nene. However, something more realistic would be if we were to trade the 14th pick plus the Magic's along with a prospect (Terrence Williams? Jordan Hill?) to get into the top 8 or so picks, and then drafted Enes Kanter or Jonas Valanciunas.
  7. How the hell do you watch the same game for 8 hours?
  8. EASTERN CONFERENCE FINALS: Celtics vs Bulls WESTERN CONFERENCE FINALS: Spurs vs Lakers NBA FINALS: Lakers vs Celtics NBA CHAMPION: Celtics

  11. I might have been willing to vote for Dwight or Kobe if their teams managed to finish a spot or two higher, but I'll say Derrick Rose for obvious. What a year for him.
  12. So many deserving coaches this year but my vote goes to Thibodeau. A rookie coach takes a team that finished 8th last season and gets them to buy into his system and defensive schemes, and exceeds everyone's expectations by taking them to the top of the East.
  13. I don't think the award should go to players getting 30+ minutes a game but since everyone on this list is, I vote for Lamar Odom.
  14. Aldridge and Rose have strong cases but Kevin Love has become a threat offensively and is already one of the greatest rebounders ever.
  15. Dwight Howard but Chris Paul and Chandler have been great too.
  16. I see you went with my idea. :glasses:
  17. Good Hair's 100th straight reign as gov isn't looking so good right now. public schools broke

  18. The deadline moves make me feel like we might be rebuilding so trading Scola wouldn't be a bad idea, get some nice pieces in return and allow Patterson to start, who I think will eventually grow into a borderline All-Star. First priority to me should be looking to sign Marc Gasol, I wouldn't be opposed to saving the cap and hoping for the best in the 2012 free agency but I also wouldn't want to get shutout like the Nets did so I'm big on trying to sign Gasol. Maybe a $10+ million deal but I somehow doubt Memphis lets him go. I think Morey should also look using our cap space in a trade. Maybe package our young talent and picks for someone like Danny Granger, who would be ideal for the team we have. Adrian Woj did say that the Rockets have too many assets not to get a superstar so I do expect Morey to be in the race for Chris Paul, probably more likely than when we went after Carmelo.
  19. Yeah awful game all-around. Despite all the solid players we have, we showed that when the going gets tough offensively we have absolutely nothing to counter with. Once Martin was shut down in the 4th, the game was lost.
  20. Is this how we're going out? Losing to a team that practically begged us to win?
  21. *sigh* so depressed...goodbye playoffs we hardly knew ya
