  1. Meh, I dont see him doing too much in the league anymore. Theres a reason he went to 3 different teams in the 2010 season
  2. When youre drafting, do you draft a player based on the talent available at that point in time, or do you draft one based on the team needs? In fact, that is the point of the draft, to help your team fill holes that you currently have, but theres a pretty notable case in history where taking a player based on talent would have been a much better option In the 1984 draft, the Portland Trail Blazers held the 2nd overall pick with a choice between Sam Bowie and Michael Jordan. However, they had drafted Clyde Drexler the year before, and they felt comfortable filling their gaping center hole rather than increasing their talent at the SG/SF position, so they decided to take Bowie instead. While Clyde Drexler did turn out to be a legend, drafting Bowie over Michael Jordan wasnt exactly the best move, and if they had drafted Jordan, they would have been able to solidify the position completely I've always been for filling holes that your team has and trying to find players that can fill those holes. However, if there is a surefire pick, like if the player is significantly better than the other choices at the time, take him. Even if its a position where you dont need anyone else, you can always build off of that, or hell, you can trade that draft pick for players that will fill the hole and more draft picks as well! I do think that if the players are equivalent though, and are at 2 different positions, take the player at the position that you need help at
  3. I agree with the part about the history. The only way to keep the history would be to move the Hornets franchise back to Charlotte and move the Bobcats to Seattle, but I really doubt anyone wants to move 2 teams just to keep the team's history Honestly, I would be fine with the Hornets moving to Seattle and becoming the Sonics and the Bobcats staying put in terms of everything. I thought the person who originally brought it up though made a good point about the Hornets name being more important to the city. I dont see the Bobcats changing their name though, especially since most teams only change their names when they move to a different city
  4. I saw this on another basketball site, and this one guy who's a Bobcats fan was telling us how they should bring the Hornets name back to Charlotte where it belongs. He said this because the Hornets are likely to leave New Orleans in the next few years and move to Seattle and change their name to the Sonics, which would leave the Hornets name open. Bobcats isnt a horrible name, but I liked the Hornets name better when the team was in Charlotte
  5. I think the Warriors will get closer to a trade than most people think. The Magic have been pursuing Monta Ellis for a while now, and their team seems to favor 3 point shooters too. I really want Ellis to go to a good team, hes been stuck on the Warriors for too long
  6. Haha I already knew Shaliq was a Clippers fan cuz at the old OTR he used to be the only person who posted in the Clippers section consistently! But anyways, yeah I agree theres nothing worse than bandwangoner fans, they only start following the team when theyre doing well and then bash them when they lose. That happened around here, when the Rangers were in the World Series this year and they lost the last game, the only thing on Facebook was statuses about the Rangers sucking, such as "RANGERS SUCK". Like bitch shut up I didnt hear any of yall complaining when they were in last place for the majority of the last decade
  7. A restraining order against himself? I'd like to see that
  8. You gotta be kidding me, OKC has possibly the worst jerseys in the league Theyre not really bad jerseys, but theyre too bland compared to what jerseys have been made into today. Not only that, but they have "Oklahoma City" written out in its entirety on the jersey. They could have just written "OKC" or "Thunder" instead
  9. Hawks Fly High said he cant do it anymore. Anyone else in?
  10. Legler! Hes on my team in one of my sim leagues lol hes a beast outside the arc
  11. To everyone in the rap tournament: The threads are up, whoever is listed 1st in the title is the one who goes 1st

  12. I have no idea why Boris Diaw wasnt on that list. 25 mins, 0 points. Thats about as bad as you can get
  13. I'm surprised nobody's mentioned flopping yet
  14. And signups are officially done! I'll PM all of you with your 1st round matchups later tonight and we'll finally get this thing started. I cant wait for this
  15. Unquestionably Lowry, he has more upside and more potential and is better at the moment. I thought he got snubbed from the ASG
  16. Right now, the competition for the playoffs in the West is just beginning to heat up. You've got the Lakers at the #4 seed at 21-14, the Mavs and Rockets at 21-15, Memphis just a half game behind at 20-15, and the Nuggets finish up the current playoff picture at 19-17, with Portland and Minnesota just out of it. The Jazz are not too far behind either at 16-18 Heres how I see the final playoff picture at the end of the season: 1. Thunder 2. Mavs 3. Clippers 4. Spurs 5. Lakers 6. Nuggets 7. Rockets 8. Blazers I think the Grizzlies, Wolves, and Jazz will just miss the playoffs, in that order
  17. Maybe this is just me, but I really dont understand why they want to win now, their window is closed, they need to start rebuilding after this year and trading a young stud PG for a 31 year old PF is just a horrible horrible move
  18. BUMP Just 1 more person, anyone whos even remotely interested in this, needs to sign up, and then we can finally start this lol
  19. This is talking about which aspects of a good player often get overlooked, we all know if a guy can shoot or pass or dribble, but there are other things that a player can do that dont get enough credit One of the traits of a great player is the ability to set picks AWAY from the ball. Everyone notices the picks that are set at the top of the key when the point guard is dribbling around, but screens and picks that allow a player to get open usually go unnoticed. Players that set these types of picks on a consistent basis can often mean the difference between a good team and a great team
  20. Idk why but this made me laugh SO hard hahahahaha I'm still cracking up about it
  21. What a surprise. A retired player wants to give the NBA a second chance. Couldnt have seen that coming Honestly, I knew he was going to be back. Blazers just seem to have really bad luck in general, what kind of team makes the postseason for 21 years straight without winning anything? Even the Mavs won a title last year
  22. I think its Boston, their crowd always seems to be into it and they rarely boo their players
  23. Anyone else getting sick of hearing about this guy every day? I know I am. Seriously its a new team every week: Full Story
  24. Thank god, I dont think anyone wanted another team in Southern Cal
  25. Unless youre already gay, then no, wearing a V-neck does not make you gay, but if youre already gay it doesnt help your case
