fish7718 Posted April 23, 2011 Report Share Posted April 23, 2011 Last night I saw Source Code. Really liked the concept of this movie, and it wasn't overly complicated or to long. They could have easily stretched this movie out and made it overly detailed but instead got to the point swiftly which made it better than most movies that take the "Groundhog Day" plot and complicate it. Reminded me a lot of Deja Vu, I liked that movie a lot too, totally agree with the 8/10, I could go higher but I'm still confused a bit as to what happens in the end and what happen to Sean (the guy he kept taking over as) Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Especially the part where he gets stuck in the bus, I was dieing. Aside from that the movie is riddled with the most cliche, over used, play out plot lines ever. The end was the worse it was like every 10 seconds, a new plot would be added to the point where it was just like wow, this is pathetic. Not to mention the motives behind the characters actions are extremely questionable. Anyway, it's a funny movie, you'll get a laugh, don't expect much more. Kids will love it... I really didn't hear much about the movie before it came out, but definitely one of the best so far this year. Highly recommend this one, it runs a bit long about 2 and a half hours but the story is gripping, and it is based on a true story for the most part.... of course some things are dramatized for the "movie effect" Tobacco companies pay out the ass to keep the brand alive, but man it sure does work for them. I found it as a more realistic Lion King, me and a buddy were finding ways to fit the Lion King songs into the movie. I also loved to see the ways the animals interacted with each other, I find it incredible. Especially the companionship between the families of animals, just incredible. Not a masterpiece but very good nonetheless I give it a 8/10. It was my favorite movie when I was a kid, with Back to the Future and The Goonies. Ghostbusters will always be a special movie to me. It's even the movie that made me discover and love New York City (if I ain't mistaken, it was a VERY long time ago so I ain't sure anymore but I'm almost sure lol). Then again if it was a basketball movie, I would probably have already seen it. Anyway the movie is a great touching story about the friendship between and old writer and this young kid. As far as Finding Forrester I really loved that movie, I thought Connery was awesome like always, and so was the kid. It was a great story, and it was cool how it incorporated basketball into it. That scene where he finally gets him out to the game and he pretty much freaks it's pretty good direction. I think you will like The Insider and like you said both these actors regardless of story are worth watching just from the acting standpoint, but this is one of those occurrences where the story lives up to the acting, so it's a win win. The last one I saw was: Burn After Reading 8/10 http://i297.photobucket.com/albums/mm233/lebronze23/600full-burn-after-reading-poster.jpg Story on this is the first time around I really didn't like this movie that much, it was a bit to random for me but I watched this again two days ago and for whatever reason really liked it the second time around. Sometimes watching a movie more than once makes you appreciate it more, and this one is really a fun watch. The Coens are always interesting and McDormand is awesome in everything, but I loved all the roles each actor has there moment in this one. You better rewatch all the Coens you didn't like as soon as you can, you will like them for sure I tells ya. Like I already told you, you will LOVE The Ladykillers this time, you better trust me and watch it tonight for sure. The kinda movie I love, there is basically no action, it's very peaceful, the kind of movies you watch quietly while drinking some good whiskey, just to spent a very good time. To chill. The music is fantastic. The photography is just awesome as well, it's unique, I never saw another movie that had such a great photography. It's just like a dream... I give it a 10/10, easily. So far there ain't one of his movies that I didn't like. Great to see Murphy and Martin together, it would deserve to be watched only for that. I had a very good time, I'm gonna give it a solid 8/10. I love a lot of old French movies, at the time we used to have great actors. And great filmmakers. Which ain't sadly the case any longer... This one ain't really French though. As most of the directors and actors of those short movies are not French, so maybe I should take a look at it. I only watched the Coen Brothers short movie, "Tuilerie" with Steve Buscemi. Which is quite nice lol. and very true, people get literally crazy when you stare at them around here lol, and people in Paris are especially rude... So this could sadly really happen lol. Did you like the movie ?We only watched about 7 of the shorts in class, "Critical Approaches to Literature".. we watched without subtitles, and had to read into the meaning of each clip and what they were saying without understanding the language, using the same critical approaches we learned in class (well.. some was English, and I know very basic stuff from taking French in high school). From what I watched, it was all very good.. and very interesting. I'm going to try and watch the full movie with the subtitles on in the near future. Tuilerie was great, I knew you'd like it Buschemi and the Coen brothers, of course.. he is such an underrated actor. Very entertaining short. Some of the others were very ranged.. loss, love, happiness, the clips seemed to have great variety and covered a ton of different bases. One of my favorites. He was amazing in all the Coen movies. And in Jarmush movies too. Oh and in Reservoir Dogs too also, he was awesome in it, I love it when they tell him he's Mr Pink LOL. Have you seen Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead ? He's great in that movie as well. I love that movie, it's quite unknown but it's very good. I advised it to many people and they all loved it. There are many good actors in it, there's also Christopher Walken, Andy Garcia, John Savage, Chritopher Lloyd... I advise everyone to check it out.
