Dan Gilbert: "NO SHORTCUTS"

I absolutely loved seeing LeBron lose, but Gilbert is more of an owner than a fan, no matter what he wants to be...and because of that, he has to watch what he says. It's not a good look for the Cavaliers OR for him.

The Heat come two wins away from a championship and the Cavs suffer through the longest losing streak in NBA history and Gilbert is ecstatic that the Heat fell short? When he puts his priorities in order and realizes how petty he is, then the Cavs will have a chance to escape the NBA dregs.

They have the 1st and 4th pick. Atleast something is looking up for them lol.

They'll get Kwame Brown and Marcus Fizer with the 1st and 4th picks.

Again, I really don't support what he's doing, but I understand why he'd be happy IF all he's going to do is worry about LeBron's future, because the 2006 Mavericks were also just two wins away from a championship, then proceeded to lose in the first round the following season, then get dropped from the playoffs three more seasons before winning it all this year. Thing is, five seasons from now, Wade will be around 34-35 years old, and all of the trio will be in their 13th NBA season.

Getting close doesn't mean you're going to be even closer the following year, no matter who you have on your side...and, well, maybe Gilbert believes he can find two jewels in the draft with those picks, and seeing that his Cavs took out Miami in late March, just half a month away from the playoffs that they nearly dominated, he could be pretty confident in a first-round match-up against them in 1-2 years.
