They can also search it if they feel that they "smell" something, yea, pretty dumb.Actually there are loop holes the cops can use to get around that. Like if you get pulled over for a speeding ticket they can say like they think you are on a drug/alcohol, and since the car was used in committing a crime, they can search it. I went to Tuesday and Wednesday to UC Santa Cruz. Orientation is all about people talking about the major you are interested. And getting a tour around the school. That's all I did.
