It's good to see Dorell Wright finally getting a chance to prove himself, and he's making the most of it. Don't count him out as a future all star. I've been saying it for years.
-
Very true. He can't be the anchor a great defensive team, but he can certainly be part of one. Especially when he is going from a team where he had to carry the load offensively for 38 mpg, to now being the third option and feeding off of great playmakers (which will start to show itself in time).

How PFs and Cs have done so far against the Heat.. Playing Boston Garnett: 4-11 Shaq: 3-7 JO: 0-3 Davis: 6-7 Playing Philly Brand: 6-11 Hawes: 0-3 Speights: 0-3 Young: 6-8 Playing Orlando Howard: 8-15 Lewis: 0-9 Bass: 1-5 Gortat: 0-0 So I guess the only real low post threats the Heat have faced are superstars Glen Davis and Thaddeus Young, who surely attract more defensive attention that Kevin Garnett and Elton Brand. Otherwise, I don't see the big issue. But please, keep searching for excuses.

Incredible defense. Nobody on the other team had more than a single assist. Granted, it is Jameer Nelson and Chris Duhon running the point. Still. If the Heat are this good on their third official game together, imagine how good they will be after 82.

So let's see here... On October 26, Boston beats Miami On October 27, Cleveland beats Boston On October 29, Toronto beats Cleveland So in conclusion... Raptors > Cavs > Celtics > Heat

Who should the Bulls start at Shooting Guard?
Poe replied to Pooh25's topic in Chicago Bulls Team Forum
James Johnson has talent, but is too young and inexperienced. Korver shoots great, but can't play defense. Brewer defends well, but can't shoot. Bogans shoots a little, defends a little, and has a little experience. I pick Bogans. -
Reason why Rondo is not wearing his headband

You know what? You're right. Soulja Boy should be the commissioner, 'cause he got dat swagga on. -
But I didn't say he deserves no blame. There are multiple members to a team and each play a part in the victory/loss. If a member is over/under par in their performance out of what is expected from their role on the team, then they were a larger part to the reason the team won/lost. Never is a single player to take full blame for a loss, but they can have larger or smaller part of the blame. Again, Melo's career average in the playoffs is the same as the regular season, so I can't agree that Melo is the single reason the Nuggets continually failed to advance in the playoffs like CF appears to suggest. And again, NBA =/= PGA. Lakers vs Nuggets is not Kobe vs Melo, it's the Lakers team versus the Nuggets team. If the Lakers win, it's not "Kobe beat Melo", it's "LA beat Denver".
-
Basketball = team sport. It's a team effort to win games, and while stars do have the largest impact in games, even the best don't even average one third of their team's points. Considering that Melo's career playoff average is about the same as his career regular season average, he played his part and is not to take full blame.

Reason why Rondo is not wearing his headband

lolwut x2 -
Why does everyone always think basketball is a one on one sport? The playoffs aren't a PGA tournament.

Reason why Rondo is not wearing his headband

I agree, but his skin color isn't even in the ball-field for the reasons why. -

I was quoting a so-called professional scout that gave a preview of the Warrior's season, calling Ellis the third best player on the team
-
Pretty good game for Ellis, aka the Warrior's "third best player".

JR Smith Aaron Afflalo Ty Lawson

[expletive], now Garcia is getting too good. Now they gotta trade Evens.

Someone forgot to tell Carlisle that The Jet can't win his sixth man award if he's starting.
-
Well, this is awkward..

Love this Turner guy. After only watching one game from him, I think he's become one of my favorite players in the league.
-
Championship starting line ups usually consist of a defender/dirty work player and a glue guy. Artest/Ariza and Fisher filled those roles for LA, Perkins and Rondo filled it for Boston, Bowen and Finley for San Antonio, Ben Wallace and Prince for Detroit, etc etc. Anthony and Arroyo fit that mold. I would say that there are other players that could play those roles on the team though, which are Haslem and Miller, but I suppose starting them would put certain players in the Big Three out of position.

Found the thread. Apparently Bill Simmons did. http://www.otrbasketball.com/forums/topic/18158-bill-simmons-compares-evan-turner-to-adam-morrison/

I know he hasn't done much yet, but from what I'm seeing so far, I'm loving Evan Turner's playstyle. BTW, whoever said he's another Adam Morrison is an idiot.

QB is tougher to play, and probably the most difficult position in sports, but pitcher has the bigger impact. A pitcher can possibly be the only player that defends by striking a batter out, so therefor the pitcher doesn't always need to rely on teammates. There are times when the outfield is needed, but a perfect pitcher always outweighs a perfect outfield. For instance, if you have a pitcher that is so good he strikes batters out 100% of the time, there is no need for an outfield. The pitcher can be the whole defense by himself. For a QB, throwing the ball is just half the battle for a gain in yardage. The receiver has to catch it and advance the ball. There is also the option where the team chooses a play for the running back, where the QB is only relied on to hand the football to him. So while a pitcher can be the whole defense in certain possessions, it is not possible for a QB to be the whole offense at any point in the game. Even if he rushes the ball, he is relying on the linemen to create his path.

I guess I'm not feeling the same excitement as most people. Not that I'm not excited at all, it's just that the WNBA kept my basketball-watching needs in check over the summer, so the break from NBA didn't feel like a big long drought. It's like an extended season, with the WNBA starting right as the NBA playoffs are over, and when the WNBA season ends.. "oh look, NBA preseason starts in just a couple weeks". With that said.... GO HEAT!
