No worries about the salary cap, just trade Deng away for anyone (or anything) and we will be set. :glasses:

I like Blake so a good signing for the Lakers. Now they only need to sign 1-2 other free agents to give them a bench that will match with the Suns.

Ric Bucher: Clippers Interested In Iguodala
Newman replied to The Regime's topic in Los Angeles Clippers Team Forum
Iguodala with the current Clippers roster would be scary. -
Paul is one of those PGs that is loved by other players because he can create so many opportunities. I don't think this trade will make the team record look that much different to last year, however. The lack of a consistent perimeter shooter concerns me. Also, Okafor and Bogut are too similar and they would be better off starting Gooden and benching Okafor. I reckon the Hornets will get better with this trade if Redd is healthy, however.

Trail Blazers will continue to pursue Chris Paul
Newman replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in Portland Trail Blazers Team Forum
I don't think the Hornets will get a better trade offer than this, personally thinking. Hopefully Bower won't regret it like Philly did when they missed out on the chance to trade AI at draft night for better players than Andre Miller and Joe Smith. -
If you were a role player, where would you rather sign...
Newman replied to kingfish's topic in General NBA Discussion
Yup, as said above, it would depend on the age. Personally, however, I would pick to join the Lakers. The Champions are usually a lock for a high seed the following year and make a run in the playoffs. The Lakers' system also enable role players to get some PT as well, unlike in the super team. -
Suns Agree To $18M, Four-Year Deal With Hakim Warrick
Newman replied to Sun Tzu's topic in Phoenix Suns Team Forum
+1. He will give similar stats (maybe a little less) than Amare given the PT. The Suns need another big man though in my opinion. -
Dam I hate the Dutch. How can Van Bommel not get a yellow card after 5-6 fouls. They earned the win today though, Robben, although he is my least favourite player, really made a difference and Sneijder was just terrific.

Kings won't go after big-name free agents
Newman replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in Sacramento Kings Team Forum
Besides OKC, I think that the Kings has the most potential to be a great team with the players they have at the moment. Good choice. -
Well the Hawks must be desperate.

Pacers show interest in Jordan Farmar
Newman replied to Real Deal's topic in Indiana Pacers Team Forum
Yeah I think Farmar is looking for a multi-year contract as well. He will get the starting job at Indiana, however. -
He is a good player, and a big man that can attack the basket and also rebound is a rare find in the NBA nowadays.

Update: Rivers will return for one more season
Newman replied to Dash's topic in Boston Celtics Team Forum
Insert some fresh blood into this team and they are still a contender. The draft picks may have done the trick already but I would still like to see a veteran big man signed to take Sheed's spot. -
Suns better do a S&T to get some players back.

I agree with the names being thrown around here and the order they are in, but am I the only one disappointed with the quality of PGs in this decade? Cassell was a beast with the Bucks and T'Wolves but that's only 5 years. Ditto for Mike Bibby. The same can be said for Deron and CP3, although I believe personally that the quality shown by them is enough to warrant a spot. Andre Miller is a consistent performer but if he gets a spot in the list then it means that there is/was not many good PGs around.

Blazers will shop for free agent guards with MLE
Newman replied to Warren2ThaG's topic in Portland Trail Blazers Team Forum
I hope they don't waive Patty Mills. Saw him playing with the Australian basketball team and I believe that he can flourish given the playing time. -
Salmons close to re-signing with the Bucks
Newman replied to BadgerFan's topic in Milwaukee Bucks Team Forum
Is Michael Redd officially out of next season's equation? Because if not the Bucks will be pretty damn good at the positions they were weak at last year. -
Unless Melo has suddenly lost his right hand, he is the best small forward in the NBA except for LeBron. It would be suicidal for the Nuggets to trade him now, especially if the trade above is 1 for 1.

Al Jefferson requests trade from Wolves
Newman replied to Real Deal's topic in Minnesota Timberwolves Team Forum
Good. This will be beneficial to both Big Al and the Wolves as Big Al has been struggling to fit in the triangle offense and it is best to send him to another team when he still has value. -
Report: Cavs could make offer soon to Shaw or Scott
Newman replied to Dash's topic in Cleveland Cavaliers Team Forum
It doesn't really matter who the coach is if the Cavs lose LeBron and get nothing back. Getting Shaw would mean another one of Phil Jackson's heir apparent be taken away though. -
Don't worry. When the season (or even the summer league) begin, a lot of people will be off the bandwagon if he doesn't perform. I will be one of those people.

It will take time for Yao to blend in with Ariza and Martin. I can see them stumbling through the first 20 games with a .500 winning % but afterwards winning 40 of the remaining 62 games. They will be close to 50 wins nonetheless.
-
I love this line-up. A lot of solid role players and a few scorers + Yao makes it a potential 50-win team.

Wizards projected roster for 2010-2011
Newman replied to JWaLL's topic in Washington Wizards Team Forum
I like the line-up with VC. The starting five is solid and the bench can provide a lot of energy. -
Nuggets Might Be Willing To Trade Carmelo
Newman replied to Sportsguy9695's topic in Denver Nuggets Team Forum
I do not believe that Melo will leave the Nuggets anytime soon. They may not be championship contenders, but they are a lock for playoffs every year in the West.
