Memphis Talking Trade For Ronnie Brewer
Newman replied to The Regime's topic in Memphis Grizzlies Team Forum
It would be a nice trade, although I am not sure about Mayo playing point. Conley is not doing a bad job at the moment as a pass-first PG. -
Lakers Inquire About Devin Harris

I second that. Come on Mitch, do your thing. -
Who's Was The Better Draft Pick For The Magic?
Newman replied to crabbylion's topic in Orlando Magic Team Forum
In terms of which one being a better draft pick for the Magic, I would definitely say Howard. This is because I've read in Shaq's biography (published in 1996) that when he got picked by the Magic, his agent constructed a plan to get Shaq traded to the Lakers and although he refused to do so then, 2 years after the biography was published he moved to the Lakers. I've got a feeling Dwight is going to stay with Orlando for at least most of his career so I am going to go with Dwight. -
The problem is that Magic work by just inside-outside and if the outside doesn't work, they break. We all know that Dwight is a monster in the paint and should attract double-team in most games, but when the shooters outside don't drain their shot then the plan wouldn't work. There is no plan B. They should let Dwight do his thing if the shooters aren't and use Pietrus and Carter's slashing ability as support. In brief, the Magic's problem is not utilizing its players' versatility and hence slowly shaping them up into one-diemensional players.

According to the original article this team has probably the most famous players in the CBA at the moment. Not only were they the team that signed Bonzi Wells last year but also that Maurice Taylor had been the foreign player of this team before Marbury's arrival. If Marbury doesn't drop 50 points in at least 1 game I'll be surprised. P.S Also according to the original article, Stromile Swift is playing in the CBA as well.

I like Jodie Meeks, but I've got the feeling that the Bucks are still going to try for the playoffs with the Stackhouse signing. He give them that insurance if Meeks fail to produce.

Nate, Wallace, Brown To Compete In Dunk Contest
Newman replied to Doc's topic in General NBA Discussion
Damn LeBron got my hopes up for this year. I am not saying that these participants are rubbish, but if LeBron joined this could've been a really special slam dunk contest. Now it's pretty much all Shannon Brown. -
Wow anyone know what happened? Never something that anyone want to hear about. RIP

Got that one right. The Nets are a mess and they need an experienced coach to straighten them up.

According to an article I've read before, Brook Lopez is the only untradeable in the squad and given the number of quality PGs around the league at the moment, Harris is tradable.

Meh. It's okay but nothing that'll make me think I'll pay $299 for.

Can The Bobcats, Grizzlies or Thunder Make Playoffs?
Newman replied to MainEv3nt's topic in General NBA Discussion
Thunder will because they have a scoring machine in Durant and great role players. Bobcats will because they are in the East. Grizzlies might because the West are filled with talented teams and that I just don't see the Grizzlies being able to break past them. They'll come close though. -
Ex-coach John Lucas: Cleveland tanked to draft LeBron
Newman replied to The Regime's topic in Cleveland Cavaliers Team Forum
Yeah teams all tank in a way to get their player. Cavs' roster that year was just the worst I've seen in all my years though so it makes it extra obvious that they're tanking. -
Sundiata Gaines looked like the signing of the year up to date.

This game reminds me of why I love this game.

Amazing game. Sundiata Gaines must be cold blooded.

Ok for some reason FRAPS doesn't work so it's up to me to review the games: 1. Kobe vs. LeBron Kobe missed a 3-pointer and LeBron starts off with possession. He quickly make use of his size advantage and power through to the lane 7 times until Kobe finally stopped him on his 8th attempt. Kobe responds with a dunk but is blocked by LeBron the very next possession. As Kobe become more adapted to LeBron he started playing better defence by making it harder for LeBron to go in the lane. However, LeBron keeps using his power to muscle through and score. Final result: 2-21 (no joke) LeBron's shot-chart: http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh103/w1rri0r/LeBronvsKobe-LBJsstats.gif Kobe's shot-chart: http://i254.photobucket.com/albums/hh103/w1rri0r/LeBronvsKobe-Kobesstats.gif From this it's pretty clear to see that LeBron made use of his power and attacked the basket whenever possible. Kobe did too, but whenever he couldn't capitalize on the chance LeBron would grab the rebound. 2. Dwight vs Yao At the start it was hard for both sides to get inside until Yao finally got past Howard for a dunk. Then I couldn't bare to watch as both sides started bombing 3s (Thank you 2K!)and couldn't sink any. So I left it at 1-0 to Yao. Just something worth noting though, Dwight tried stealing the ball everytime Yao try to shoot and Yao makes it hard for Dwight just to get past the perimeter. 3. KG vs Duncan Once again, this game was ruined by 2K. However, before I got pissed and quitted the game, KG went more inside while Duncan was more willing to shoot jumpers. However, this should be due to the fact that everytime Duncan went for a lay-up or hook shot it would've been swatted away. I left it at 6-4 to Duncan.

1. Tough call, but I am going to go with LeBron. He is just more powerful going into the lane and without help defence Kobe will have a hard time containing him 2. Yao, his height helps him A LOT when scoring and defending and grabbing rebounds. 3. Duncan, he is just better in almost every aspect at the moment. Maybe I should do these 3 match-ups with 2K10 and post the result.

Rookie v.s. Sophmore Teams? Who YOU Pick?
Newman replied to MainEv3nt's topic in General NBA Discussion
I am gonna go by last year's format with 9 players per team. Rookie: PG: Jennings SG: Evans SF: Casspi PF: Gibson C: Blair Subs: Lawson, Curry, Harden, Flynn (It's really hard to leave out any of the PGs) Sophs: PG: Rose SG: Mayo SF: Beasley PF: Thompson C: Lopez Subs: Westbrook, Gordon, Hibbert, Speights Sophs will own the heck outta Rookies with my line-up so I reckon Steph Curry and/or James Harden will be out for some big guy and DeRozan. -
Melo is the best small forward in low post scoring. Durant may have a sweet J but he has more trouble scoring inside than Melo does. And since Melo can shoot the outside as well, I am going to go with Melo.

San Antonio @ Oklahoma City
Newman replied to alcstarheel's topic in Oklahoma City Thunder Team Forum
Blair became a beast after the Spurs decide to rest Duncan for the game. 28 points + 21 rebounds. -
Win #3000 in the bag.

Blake Griffin done for the season.
Newman replied to Jonah's topic in Los Angeles Clippers Team Forum
All will be forgiven if he puts up at least 15 points and 10 rebounds next season.
