  1. http://www.philebrity.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/07/Old-Spectrum.jpg http://youoffendmeyouoffendmyfamily.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2009/12/Julius_Erving_Dunk1.jpg http://www.csnphilly.com/11/09/10/The-Spectrum-Scheduled-for-Demolition-on/landing.html?blockID=349169&feedID=695 It will always be primarily known as the Flyers house and a concert venue, but the Sixers did play there for 30 years too. Unfortunately the Spectrum (as a major sports venue anyway) was a bit before my time, but I have still attended many events there. It will be missed! I am also guessing that nobody on here will care, since I doubt anybody besides me and maybe Smitty has ever been there, but it's a pretty big deal around here so I figured I'd post anyway.
  2. Haha, touche. You could consider Justin Williams for Danny Markov as well.
  3. Also this.... http://i54.photobucket.com/albums/g96/philsphan1210/Picture1-23.png
  4. That "coach's challenge" thing doesn't sound so bad right about now. Why the hell do the officials just pick and choose which plays they will review? So annoying.
  5. God damn, Ville Leino is a ridiculous passer. Thanks Detroit! On a side note....Leino for Ole-Kristian Tollefsen the most one-sided trade of the past 5 years?
  6. And now Cameron Maybin traded to San Diego. Damn, that Miguel Cabrera trade looks so awful now.
  7. 11 year contract for Jeff Carter. Super team-friendly cap hit. I dig it. Ville Leino is up next.
  8. Damn, I guess he retired Gaston after his Flyers days. Unfortunate.
  9. Eric Snow is sick, so Ed Stefanski is filling in on the broadcast. This should be fun.
  10. Absolutely love this one for personal reasons, haha. If "fly3rs18" was still a member here, he'd enjoy this too.
  11. Hah, Marlins already giving up on Andrew Miller. Traded to Red Sox.
  12. That was absolutely fantastic. 8-1 and honestly could have been way more.
  13. Flyers just had a goal robbed from them. One of the worst calls I have ever seen.
  14. Very interested to see what the Nationals do this winter. They certainly seem willing to spend money
  15. Also...I am giggling at the line about the Phillies "deciding if they will re-sign him". As if they hold the key to this process, and not the fact that he will probably be about $50 million out of their price zone.... If the Phillies had the money, he'd be locked up already. People need to think before they write.
  16. Lol....are you kidding me dude? A) You are about 5 months late and B) 5 months ago, it was also determined that this Jayson Werth/Jen Utley nonsense was total BS. I guess the "playoffs" line was just added in to make it sound more recent? And I'd say Chase Utley's down year was a result of rushing back from a hand injury, as well as his chronic hip condition. But making ridiculous rumors is way more fun!
  17. Also, Juan Samuel hired to be the third base coach. Sam Perlozzo moves to first.
  18. Pete Orr signs minor league deal. Figure he'll get a shot to crack the roster in Spring Training.
  19. Yep. Back when I had MLB Extra Innings, if I was bored and had no interest in any particular game, I'd usually put on the Mariners because Niehaus was one of the best. Or the Dodgers to hear Scully.
  20. If I could illustrate the last 4 or 5 years of Sixers basketball by using just one game as a demonstration, I think this might be the game.
  21. RIP Dave Niehaus. One of the best.
