Helping out our good friend Cobb. Anyway, only 2 games that really mean much of anything on the schedule today (obviously the Yankees and Rays still need to figure out who wins that division). Anyway, this is the rare time where I actually wouldn't mind if the Phillies lose. I'd love to see a 3-way tie unfold. And Charlie Manuel did his best to make sure this happens by allowing Danys Baez to pitch! Giants-Padres on tap for 4:00 EST this afternoon. I am probably part of the .000000000001% of people in this region that cares more about that than McNabb-gate. Lets go!!

This!!

Charlie Manuel with a nice going-away present for Bobby Cox by letting Danyz Baez pitch.

The Phillies will finish with the best record in baseball for the first time ever. Sweet.

Did you deliver my message to Lou? -
If the Phillies hold on today, they will be in a super weird situation tomorrow. If they win (and Padres win, of course), there's a decent chance the Giants will be matched up with them in the NLDS, which is definitely not wanted. If the Phillies lose tomorrow (and Padres win), all hell will break loose. But that "hell" will be super entertaining to watch as an outsider.

Yessss please do. It's looking like tomorrow will be an awesome day.

I don't know if there is any manager who can turn that team into a winner right away. From my understanding, they will not be pursuing any big name FA's (not that there are a whole lot out there anyway), so the Mets may be in for another long season regardless of who is managing.

I miss Cobb's gameday threads .

Tomorrow is shaping up to be a hell of a day.

I am starting to feel pretty bad for Brooks Conrad.

OK, so I HATE those virtual ads on the glass behind the goals on TV broadcasts. Hate hate hate. I know it was around in some places last year, but this is the first year it has taken over Flyers broadcasts. So distracting and unnecessary, but anything for a few extra bucks I guess. http://www.blogcdn.com/nhl.fanhouse.com/media/2009/04/subway-(1).jpg This is what I am referring to, if you haven't seen it before. The one the Flyers broadcast uses is a solid red Toyota banner, so it is even more annoying than that.

Fish....thoughts on today's happenings? Wish list for replacements?

NLDS Rotation: Game 1: Roy Halladay Game 2: Roy Oswalt Game 3: Cole Hamels Game 4: Roy Halladay Game 5: Roy Oswalt I dig it.

This whole "cheer/boo" thing is really funny. That is all anyone is concerned with, nobody seems to remember that this is kind of a big game.
-
Yeah...it's really a shame how stupid some people can be. I was at ease with the trade when it happened, but I loved the guy when he was an Eagle and never understood most of the criticism.
-
I doubt it's that drastic. At every Eagles game I have gone to, the jersey I have seen the most is #5. He was/is very well liked by many. There are plenty of obnoxious and unreasonable fans (the ones I described a few posts up) who will surely boo just for the hell of it. But I'd be surprised if the boos outnumber the cheers. A lot of people who don't live here assume that the vocal minority that disliked McNabb represents every Eagles fan, which isn't true. He was very popular with most Eagles fans.
-
He barely has any service time, I doubt he's even close to arbitration yet. He should be Braves property for several more years.
-
If the Braves don't win the wild card, something is seriously wrong with them. This weekend they will face Kyle Kendrick, Vance Worley, and Cole Hamels (who will be taken out after 2-3 innings). Worley is actually solid, but considering that the original plan was Halladay, Hamels, and Oswalt, the Braves are lucking out.
-
A lot of people who attend Eagles games are stupid, obnoxious, and unreasonable. Basically what Smitty said.
-
The NL was pretty fun until the Phillies swept the Braves. The Wild Card/West is still pretty cool. The AL is quite uneventful like usual.

Reds, Rays, and Yankees clinch!

Prado done for year. Ouch!

Welcome to my dilemma every time I turned on sports talk radio in the 10 years he was here. Most of the people around here are irrational and stupid.
